I stopped by this cafe for the first time this week and it was a very cozy spot to get some espresso and read a book. I really enjoyed the decor and layout of the cafe, alongside the food options that they had. It also looked like they had seasonal special drinks which is always fun. Definitely recommend a stop by for all the Woodlawn residents!
I got the biscuit sando and it was probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. It had an absolutely perfect biscuit. Every staff interaction was lovely, they all seem to be very friendly people. It was easy to hear the person I was with, while talking softly. And lots of people seemed to be reading and working/studying. Overall a great experience!
I was hoping to enjoy this place a bit more than I did. Granted, the staff were very pleasant and the coffee and baked goods we grabbed were all good. The main issue for me was the atmosphere: the music was about %20 too loud, just enough to not let me concentrate on what I was trying to get done. Probably because the music was a bit too loud, that made people talk louder, which got a bit intrusive at times. So, while I overall liked the place, if you're bringing your laptop and plan on staying for an hour or so getting worked done... beware. You may not find it easy to concentrate. If you're just going with someone for a conversation, then you'll enjoy it! But I still want them to turn that music down a bit :)
Stopped in to catch up with an old coworker, I'd walked by it before but never had the opportunity to swing in. Staff was great and welcoming. Had a delicious pastry and some coffee. They didn't have honey, but had a honey syrup which was perfect for me.
The goodness was oozing off the plate! I enjoyed the oatmeal, some earl grey tea with honey and pumpkin bread. Plenty of options here but limited breakfast menu. Beautiful space, friendly and helpful people working. Indoor and outdoor seating. I will come back and try something new next time. 😊
Their coffee drinks are excellent, their pastries are wonderful, but their staff is the best part! So friendly, super helpful. Maddie in particular was a patient and helpful delight when we were struggling in an as-yet uncaffeinated stupor to figure out what we wanted. 10/10 coming back often!
This is my go-to spot whenever I want to unwind and feel connected to my neighborhood. Not only do they offer delicious vegan muffins and vanilla oat lattes, but the staff is also incredibly friendly. It's the perfect place to relax and be part of the community.
really lovely place! wonderful food and very kind staff (-: kind of loud music which made chatting and doing homework a bit of a challenge. once again, a lovely space just a touch too loud.
I’m spoiled. We have Little T down the street -and I know a good croissant- so I was skeptical when a friend claimed these guys have the best in town. But, I gotta admit, they were fabulous: crisp, flaky, buttery. Really really fabulous! We individually complimented Emily -the baker. She lamented they’re perennially-overlooked on PDX Eater’s “best” list. So, here’s me saying PDX Eater’s loss is your gain.
Loved this quirky place! Wait staff are the best.
I feel like I just had art for breakfast! A chef said this is the best pastry in Portland and I think he might be right! I tried the bistock (sp?)which is their brioche dunked in vanilla and topped with fresh seasonal fruit and nuts. It was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside - soo good! The oatmilk cappuccino was delicious and lovely to look at as well. The staff are every bit as sweet and wonderful as the pastries!
Excellent selection of pastries. Street parking wasn’t difficult at early morning. Grabbed a few breakfast items fairly quickly. The coffee cake and jay biscuits were delicious with hot coffee.
Fantastic home made gluten free pastries and good coffee /espresso drinks here. I could eat two of the almond flour based chocolate chip financiers below but i won’t. Best pastries I’ve had n Portland ... it’s my favorite coffee house in the North.
Very nice bakery shop, they make their pastries at the store. They have vegan options as well. The coffee was delicious, nice atmosphere.
Super cute building and vibe! I got a drip coffee and it wasn’t my fav. (To be fair I think they may use a different roast or something than I’m used to because I had a hard time finding a cup that suit my palate!)
The baristas were helpful and knowledgeable. The biscuit sando and chai was a great way to start the day without breaking the bank at the end of a trip! Definitely would recommend to friends
Delicious drinks and pastries! I'd definitely get in there early since they seem to get busy pretty quick, but when you can get in there I'd recommend the peach vanilla custard brioche bun!
Good coffee and an amazing array of pastries and good breakfasts. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I go here several days a week.
It's hard to find coffee shops that do all of their own baked goods, so I think this place is special. They have a lot of interesting pastry options and offer more substantial brunch on the weekends. Coffee and food has been consistently good. Great neighborhood spot for families
