Visiting Portland and stopped at Enat kitchen. Food is delicious. I had kitfo with steamed Collard Green, lettuce and home made cheese. Imported Ethiopian beer Walia was top notch. Place is clean. The soft music in the background was my desert. The owner is just kind and checks on customers how all is going. I highly recommend 🏜 😍
So good, one of the nicest ambience and friendliest service amongst the selection of Ethiopian spots in town. I love that the veggie platter has the option to select 5 or 7 items as well as the ability to choose your own.
Excited to go here again!
Sambusa ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- I liked the lentils inside
- was surprisingly filling
- I could see myself craving this
- at first I was surprised there was no sauce
Tibs with lamb ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- a little burnt for me but it actually tasted like burnt ends
Derek tibs ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
- very fresh
- liked the vegetables that came with it
Kitfo ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- got it rare
- it's like spicy beef tartare
- came with collard greens sort of with a creamy cheese
- buttery
I had a great experience here. The injera transported me back to Addis Ababa, lol! The gomen, shiro, and wot were spiced just right and it's always wonderful to taste berbere at the forefront of a well done Ethiopian dish. I asked the server if they had buna, and was treated to a very delicious and strong cup of freshly made coffee. Konjo Buna, for sure! If you haven't had Ethiopian cuisine, this would be a great place to start. Great portions for sharing. Street parking all around the area.
Great place! Loved the food and the services. The music was great too. Will definitely be coming again.
Customer service here is usually really good!
The quality of the food can be hit or miss. At times it has been served lukewarm or cold, and other times I noticed the ingredients were not very fresh.
Been here a couple of times. Always get the sampler platters and have always enjoyed them. Food maybe could have been a little bit hotter, but it's still really delicious. Definitely give this place a shot if you've thought about it.
Came by here on a whim because we were hungry and on our way to get fireworks, stuck in traffic, and looked over and saw a parking spot right in front. I used to work down the street and didn't know this place existed until around the fourth of July.
My partner and I were greeted by the friendliest of friendlies and had some guidance ordering. My partner had a vegetarian dish and I had a non-veg. Its October now, and I forgot what we had, but I remember it was enough for leftovies. The food was absolutely delightful. I really wish I knew about this place when I lived closer and worked in the area. I have suggested this joint to several of my friends that live in the area, and they all found the cuisine extremely satisfying.
Overall, the food was so delicious that it wasn't a big deal we didn't find any mini incendiaries: The true fireworks were right here at Enat Kitchen.
Amazing food. So delicious. So good. I love Ethiopian food so much. I love this restaurant. They accommodated my need for no lentils. I love them. 7 stars. Will eat here again.
Ethiopian restaurant hospitality, when practiced by a family business, is hella sweet.
The menu offers all the standards, plus a few items that are new to a lifelong consumer of injera-based meals. PDXers are fortunate to be able to eat here!
6/8/23 food is fresh and delicious! Could be more seasonings - seems like it's milder in flavor than I remember. Happy to see original owner is still there.

I think ownership has changed though the food is still delicious. Please switch to paper to-go containers and please answer your phone during open hours. I ordered a specific veg combo but wasn't given what I ordered. It was busy with only one waitress. Please play music for ambiance.

Delicious food, gluten free injera - all the time. Vegan options. Lighting, music, seating comfort and overall ambiance could be improved. For me best tasting Ethiopian since Dalo's Kitchen.
We already visited the restaurant twice already in the past month.
Their food was amazing, especially key wot and kitfo. If you don't know what to order, maybe try the Enat combo which it comes with smaller sampler dishes and you could try them all.
The staff there was super friendly and really really nice to us. Always come check on us, make sure we have enough food. The atmosphere was great, there were a bunch of big parties the last time we went so it was a bit loud but not too overwhelming.
We'd love to visit again soon!
Delicious food - family platter was generous and easily satisfied the 4 big eaters in our family. We loved all the dishes represented, but the chicken, lamb, and darker colored of the veggie curries were amazing. Not much in the way of wait staff working, but service was still fairly efficient given there was only one person taking care of the room. She was super nice and had a good memory.
The goat Ethiopian restaurant in Portland. I’ve tried every Ethiopian place in town and Enat takes the cake. I eat here as much as I can. Get the key wot you will not be disappointed.
Yitbarek and his mom were very pleasant. We learned few things about traditional Ethiopian cuisine. We got platter that was enough for two of us, although I was not hungry when we came but I had to try this place.
Ate take out and I’m convinced it was some of the best food I’ve had in 2020. Incredibly flavorful and tasty. Looking forward to next time.
