The gelato was probably some of the best in Portland. The lady who was behind the counter was really nice, and for the price the portions were really good. The espresso gelato was absolutely amazing!

Always desperate to find reliable gelato! And I’ll go out of the way for it, too. This place has delicious gelato and friendly service... just what I was looking for on an unseasonable hot spring day!!

We really enjoyed getting a quick scoop here after dinner one night. They have some good options and everything is tasty. You can even get two half scoops, so you can try more flavors without getting more than you want to eat. The area is great to walk around, the shop is pretty small, but there are some tables if you want to relax and enjoy it there.

Delicious, well-priced, short line/no wait. Gelato is gelato and it was good. I don't think it was spectacular, nor was it done poorly. It's standard yummy tasting gelato with a waffle cone that comes STANDARD with the single scoop price, not extra. They DO offer a larger waffle cone for an additional $1 but even their standard cone is waffle, which usually does cost more, and the waffle cone was particularly good. It's a perfect crispness without being too brittle and falling apart. It was VERY tasty. I saw that someone reviewed this place a 2-star saying that they'd rather visit Salt & Straw but with the CRAZY long lines that Salt & Straw seems to have all the time...this is a good alternative for sure. Salt & Straw is a destination of its own with their unique flavors so it isn't really comparable to a "standard" gelato or ice cream shop. It's not like this place price gouges you ($3.95/scoop, again with the standard waffle cone), or the service was horrible (not amazing but average), or the food tasted horrible. It was delicious. well-priced, and I didn't have to wait in a 30-minute+ line. 5-stars from me :)

This place is wonderful. There are over 500 flavors that they make and switch out throughout the year. The servers are nice and the owner is a delight. Small business that has been in the same spot for years. Best gelato in portland. Some of my faves are mango passion fruit, green apple, espresso, and caramel pecan

Fairly pleased with the gelato. The Lemon Sorbetto was a bit chunky/Frozen and so not as smooth as I was hoping for though the flavor was good. I was also hoping to get a bit more for my money. $4.25 for a few onces seemed steep, but I guess people are just happy not to stand in line for 30 minutes at salt & straw across the street.

I got a split scoop of hazulnet and chocolate which was amazing! I tried the Black Forest Chocolate which was not so good because I didn't like the after taste of cherry. My girlfriend got the mango passion sorbetto which was intense mango, a bit too intense. But she paired it with green apple and really like it. The single split scoops were under $4 each!

Such rich gelato. Always delicious and I get the seasonal fruit and chocolate. A great option if you don't want to wait in the salt and straw 1hr line for your ice cream scoop.

I've gone here before admittedly because Salt and Straw was too busy but this place is really good! They have wonderful flavors of gelato and I never regret getting something from here.

If you want really good gelato with out the salad dressing poured on top, then this is the place for you. If your into waiting in long lines for something you could easily make at home, then you should look else where. Authenticity just isn't for you at this point.

I had no idea what gelato was until we walked by this place. I definitely hooked! The girl who helped us was really nice and explained it to us. I was very impressed that they paddle whip their own gellato in the back & make it fresh daily. You could taste the time & love they put into their product. The PB&J is Alotto Gel-icious!
