Location is not always everything!. The location of this Sparky's is out of the way and the parking lot is tiny. However, these are the only bad things I have to say. The pizza here is amazing and very affordable! I always get the Midtown Classic which has pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms. They have an excellent menu and their breadsticks are killer! The inside is quirky but inviting and they always seem to hire young staff that good at customer service. If you want a truly local place that is affordable, skip the other popular pizzas and journey on down to Sparky's. It's worth the trip!
Yum!. I was pleasantly surprised by Sparky's. It certainly is not the kind of place that people often dine in at, the employees seemed SHOCKED that we were getting our pizza 'for here', and still put it in a box to give to us, despite our reassuring them we truly were eating it there. The atmosphere is fun, and there are two booths (and numerous tables). They have pizza by the slice and made to order pizzas. The breadsticks - at only .99 cents are AMAZING. They are huge and garlicky and buttery and delicious. The pizza here takes a while, so I reccommend grabbing one to munch on while you wait. The pizza was VERY good - the best feta I've had on a pizza, and the kalamata olives were SO FRESH AND AMAZING! I will definitely be back to try other pizzas at Sparky's
I love it. Great specials good food and awesome staff. The building is cool nice area
Latest addiction. After hearing my friend Marty mention "Sparky's" a half a dozen times, my curiosity was piqued. He takes his pizza seriously, so I knew something must be noteworthy here. And, yeah, I'm hooked now. My habit started with the Lunch Deal ($3.50 gets you a slice and a drink) and has progressed to adding a schtick (sinfully, hot, soft, buttery, garlic, parmesan-ish breadstick). The toppings and sauce are okay. It's the crust that'll reel you in. Definitely not the ambiance. I snag mine, along with some complimentary pepperoncinis, and eat in my car. Give them a try. YOU'LL BE BACK!!!
Great pizza place. They have a great choice of pizzas, probably the most options I've seen compared to other pizza places. And they also have really good breadsticks.
Cute little pizza place. You can order full pizzas or buy by the slice. If you buy by the slice, they heat it up right there for you, so it's nice and crispy. It took like 5 minutes only to get my food.
For a slice of pepperoni, a giant garlic bread, and a can of soda, it was only $8, definitely a really good value. The pizza itself was very good. Nice crust and a good topping ratio. I didn't try one, but they have salads also.
I will definitely be back next time I need lunch in the area!
Sparky's, I was told, was not good. But I beg to differ. Sparkys dough is super legit and if you bake it correctly is stupendous purchase (if available) for a replacement if you can't make dough yourself.
Their toppings are pretty great and plentiful. I'm always happy with their Greek veggie white olive oil-based pie and my wife craves their village veggie (add pepperoni on top ask for extra crispy!).
Ordered a late night pizza. It was super delicious even though it was delivered. I will say that the dough quality is some of the best I’ve experienced from nearby pizza places. Fluffy, soft, and easily foldable. This place was a pleasant surprise after being disappointed by many other places.
My workplace often orders Sparky's for lunches, and I can understand why because the pizza here tastes awesome! However, it's a great place to visit even if you're all alone, as they sell affordable pizza by the slice along with some cheap breadsticks. I got a large slice of cheese pizza with a breadstick for only $5, and all of it was super tasty! Definitely coming back here. The only problem I have with this place is the difficult parking that makes me anxious when I visit, but it's well worth it!
Omg! Best pizza and breadsticks I’ve ever had in my life!!! We ordered on Uber eats and we’ve had before and always liked. Tonight tho. It was perfect. The best pizza in the entire metro area. The crust was perfectly butter crispy and fluffy yeasty, the ham was Smokey and flavorful! Omg I kept eating after I was so full because I couldn’t stop. Just wow!!! Amazing job!! This was the kind of pizza that will bring you to tears!
It's been eight years, since a had pizza from Sparky's and I don't know why, because their pizza is still amazing. First time at this location and it has a somewhat of an eerie vibe and empty inside lobby, but man their pizza is good, so I guess I can ignore that. Sparky's is still top five in MY opinion in Portland.
I really enjoyed their pizza. The crust was good, the ingredients were fresh, and the pizza sauce was good. I definitely recommend for good pizza in Portland
My work ordered Sparkys for an event and I fell in love. Better pizza than major chains. Love their large pepperoni. Sooo yummy!
Delicious! Decided to go in to make a pickup order. Service was very friendly and I had a warm breadstick with some ranch while I waited for the pizza. They had it prepared in good time and it tasted great. Price was very reasonable as well.
Underrated, hidden spot pizza! Doesn't look like much on the outside but definitely much better than the rest. Since moving from Seattle 2 years ago, we've had difficulty finding good pizza, not now. They are shy on their marketing eg. they use organic herbs and veggies when available, and fresh dough daily---you can taste the difference for sure.
One of my favorite pizza joints in Portland. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
Manhattan pizza with extra cheese and Greek salad . Looks and tastes amazing. Def recommend!
Why go to a crowded pizza joint to watch a blazers game when you got Sparky's? Great prices, cool selection of beer and wine in a can, and delicious pizza (also staff are super friendly). Hidden gem on MLK for sure!
Amazing food, sweet people, but the parking situation sucks and there's no seating inside. But, totally worth it anyway!
Decent pizza for the price and very nice employees. Parking is a nightmare. :/
