I try something new every time as their menu changes constantly and have never been disappointed. I've had the ramen, the noodles, the poke bowl, the ahi tuna salad and accidentally was served the octopus bowl, but it too was amazing so I didn't mind. Great place and great food!

The food is delicious, though they have a fairly limited menu. I had the 'burger' special, which had a patty made of pork and Chinese sausage, with peanut sauce, fish sauce, slaw, pickles, and crunchy noodles. The noodles were a revelation - I'd have this again in a heartbeat, so I think I'm doomed to disappointment on future visits, since this was a special, and I'd never count on it being available again. My dining companions were very impressed by the chicken ramen and the kale bowl.

Super service. Came here for burger week and their asian inspired burger was delicious. Also had their french girl mixed drink which was very interesting!

Love this place. The rice bowl is so good especially with all the additions piled on! The yuzu miso is my favorite. Ohhhhh and the kimchi is sooooo good. It has the perfect zing to it without it being "too zingy." Ya know?

I’d like to preface by saying I mostly don’t like salad. So I never order salad. Today, I did it. I ordered a salad. And I photographed the results.

Amazing little gem. Food was a little pricey for the serving size, but I know I'll come back here because the fried shrimp was so insanely good. The octopus salad I had was also amazing, and the octopus was really tender and prepared well. Only gripe is I wish there was more on my plate!

I was in Portland a few nights ago to see some friends, and they highly recommended this place knowing that I'm hesitant--no, downright frightened actually-- to try new kinds of food. I'm a southern girl. Anyway we were really fortunate with our server Joshua who seemed to know exactly what I wanted! I initially ordered this mango drink, and when I wasnt enthused about it's overpowering potpourri flavor, Joshua steered me and my friends toward the wine menu and helped us pick out a few drinks that were much more our style. He also suggested this awesome sake for one of my friends who doesn't like wine! I know we asked a lot of dumb questions but he was courteous and attentive throughout. I took his advice and had the fried kale and scallops, which were delicious! If you're looking for a restaurant with unique, quality food and great service with knowledgeable staff, I recommend this place. Also, it would be great for parties--we enjoyed the ambiance and being able to watch the action in the kitchen at the Chef's counter!

Very tasty ramen - it's got a nice smoke to it, sort of like momofuku

I've eaten in nearly all the restaurants in the zipper building: chicken: too greasy, chickpea: too dry... pizza: just okay. ...This is the BEST! Flavorful and satisfying without breaking the bank. My new favorite spot! Please don't change your quality or portions!

Very tasty. We got the chicken ramen, spicy noodles, and the Korean corn on the cob. The ramen was good (love noodles), the spicy noodles were very spicy (it's a slow build, so watch out!), And the form was amazing (think Korean inspired elotas). I would eat there again. 😁

Awesome restaurant located inside The Zipper. Their ramen, rice bowls, dan dan noodles are amazing. They also have some interesting beers available. The food is clean and light made with local ingredients. Definitely will be back. Highly recommended for groups or even alone. Cool vibe. Very hip.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the service was one of the best I've had in the Portland area. While the food was good, my server left a lasting impression on me more than the food did. I love the decor and the ambiance of the space.

We've missed Smallwares since it closed last year, and Wares is a wonderful answer to our craving for small plates and Asian inspired dishes in a much more flexible space. Loved the cauliflower and carrots; the veggie dishes really shone. Don't forget the pickle plate, with a generous helping of kimchi and a variety of sweet and spicy pickles.

Can't wait to see what else she comes up with! The noodles could have been a little spicier but for the average Joe I'm sure it's plenty! Bao bun is great. Awesome food to go along with great cocktails at Paydirt!

OMG, their Burger Week burger was SUBLIME! And we found plenty of other oddities on their menu that we must try soon. Great, very interesting tapas fusion place that we will come back to soon.

They describe themselves as an inauthentic Asian restaurant- that sounds bout right and we liked it. We shared plates of oysters, house Kimchi, a salad, the seared tuna, the crab noodle soup and the Coeur a la Creme for dessert. Everything was deeeeelish. The seared tuna dish was outstanding- it came with tart tasting fried green tomatoes, green beans, sweet onions and a creamy aoli. The Kimchi was sweetened with Asian Pears which gave it an interesting bite and uniqueness. The crab noodle soup was the star, it had several delectable shrimp balls, pickled ramps (wild leeks) and fennel all in a tasty crab broth. Even the simple salad was a new flavor- rhubarb with a light peanut dressing. To top it all off the cheesecake-like dish (Coeur a la Creme) with a passion fruit compote was just right. The space looks pretty cool and modern and after dark it's candle-lit and cozy. The atmosphere on a Saturday night was fun and buzzing. Will come again for sure!
