Reviews The Pink Rose

There have been a couple times as I was walking down NW Lovejoy that I’ve heard lovely music instead of the rumble of cars and the streetcar. Then upon getting closer to NW 13th I am distracted from my errands by the live musicians I  hear playing outside The Pink Rose on their outdoor patio that also has a waterfall and a fireplace.

Great service, delicious burger. We were eating on the patio with our friends' kids when it started to rain. Kids aren't allowed downstairs (since it's a bar) but the staff was really helpful and MacGyver'd us a set up under an awning. They continued to serve us our food and drinks and did so with a smile. The burger I had was DELICIOUS! The only issue I had was the small beer selection. Great experience!

Fun night. Well there was this little problem with Open Table. It gave us a table but when we showed up the hostess said, well it shouldn't have as we have a full dining room watching the Duck game. She gave us the option of sitting at the bar area but let us know that the Duck crowd was pretty loud. We were hungry and didn't want to go searching so we stayed. The hostess immediately gave us a 20%off coupon to make up for the mixup which i felt was very nice service.

Menu is closer to tapas style in portions. We had the fritters, i loved them wife wasn't so sure. Apple and coleslaw salad. Nice taste but i would have prefered a few more apples in it. They, without any fuss, removed the walnuts which my wife can't eat. Slider trio was good. We went with all three and they were fun to eat.

We have the pumpkin bread pudding for desert. Oh wow that was a great topper for the end of the meal. Just loved this. Caramel sauce was really good. Don't pass this one up if they are serving it.

Overall a very good meal, even with the Duck noise.

Wonderful. I love my wife, but I would slap her in the face for the braised short ribs! Seriously.

I went here with my parents and we loved it. There everything we ordered was accompanied by an "this is delicious!". The only problem was that there was practically nobody there. It'd be a shame for this place to go under. Also, it's not street level, so keep your eyes peeled for the sign!

Because Pink Rose really loves and does a great brunch, they also offer a few of those things on their dinner menu. There Happy Hour menu was a treat. The burger with a dijon aioli, fried onions was a great deal at $8 and it came with fries. Of course you know me, I HAD to have the brussel sprouts and they didn’t disappoint.

Overall, for the prices, the bottomless mimosas and the “roll out of bed and be there in five minutes” factor, we’ll definitely be back!

I had a friend visiting from LA and wanted a fun place to have brunch and mimosas. So we did some searching online and came across Pink Rose. It had great reviews and people raved about their bottomless mimosas special. So we ventured downtown and sure enough this place had a great brunch vibe. We did not have to wait for a table which was nice. The food was very good, and the portions were larger than what we expected. The bottomless mimosas were great and I did like that the staff made sure my glass was never empty. The staff was friendly and checked up on us constantly even though they had a full house.

Yesterday a friend and I hopped on the streetcar opposite the Central Library, just to see where it would take us. We were riding through the Pearl and chatting, when we noticed the Pink Rose, with their lovely outside dining area. It looked so intriguing we got off at the next stop and walked back. We arrived at 1:20 p.m., in good time for brunch. I had the Pork Belly Benedict ($12) and my friend had the Brussels Hash ($11). She was very happy with her dish, and I was ecstatic with mine. The portion seemed a bit modest, but by the time I finished, I had to leave three bites of potato because I couldn't fit them in. My friend and I had been talking about seasoning your food before tasting it, which we agreed was rash, and it wasn't until after we'd begun eating our perfectly-seasoned food that we noticed there were absolutely no condiments of any kind on the table. The Pink Rose is absolutely going on our list for Happy Hour! The host and servers were pleasant and attentive, the prices reasonable and the ambiance was perfect, as was the weather. (Note to self: be sure to schedule time for more of these spontaneous activities. :) )

Candidly, never been a fan of this place... used to have a DJ in an underground bar where it was loud and cramped. Went back the other night after a long hiatus and noticed it had REALLY changed. New owner came up to greet us and man, he really impressed us. The menu has gotten so much better, the atmosphere went from frat house dive bar to a nice place that we'll be visiting quite often. Very nice place now.

Great happy hour spot with good and tasty food deals. It's a little hard to find, but basically it's right below the Office Depot on Lovejoy. Do not recommend the holiday punch (unless you prefer really sour drinks) but the eggnog (crazy strong) and pumpkin beer are awesome. I've heard they also have a killer date-night deal: $25 for a bottle of wine, one entree and a small plate. Can't wait to try it.

I stumbled into this place last night around 12:30 AM just looking for a place to finish off the drinking. The atmosphere is very quaint its odd that it has so many levels and if your to drunk you will likely fall down one of the many sets of stairs. The music was house and it was BLASTING so loud you would think that a dance floor was near by. When you look around for said dance floor you soon realize that this place is SMALL and no dance floor would fit! So I wonder why the music was so loud and dance? I did not eat food so I can't say much about that but I think this place has lots of potential and I'm hoping I hit it on an odd night.

We loved Jennifer, and her suggestions were spot on. Everything was delicious, and the fried Oreos were a fantastic ending to our meal. We will definitely visit again when we come back to Portland.

The chicken and waffles is my favorite brunch in town. Expect to wait for a table on Sunday, but it is absolutely worth it! Really cool place.

Comfortable underground spot that will knock your socks off... Small kitchen, but this place really packs a punch.... Try the Shrimp n" Grits or the Stack... Great attentive servers as well....
