Yemeni style, good Mandi but needed a little salt. Nice mixed appetizers, good naan, hummus wasn't perfect but good, waiter was very hospitable and kind...

Some of the best cheap eats in this part of town. The shawarma wrap, fries and drink combo is tough to beat. The fries are plentiful, crispy, and well seasoned. I don't know what it is, but I love that spice mixture! I usually come in the evenings, and there's never a wait. I think almost all of their evening business is to-go orders.

Can't believe how great food is here. Only a matter of time before people find this hole in the wall. The chicken kebabs were moist and delicious...flavorful. the rice, which is usually dry in a lot of Middle East restaurants is dry, but theirs was not. I ate it all up.

I love Mandi House; it's the best Middle Eastern restaurant I've ever been to. The cost of the food is kind of pricey, but that's because the owner seeks quality meat that's prepared to Halal standards. The chicken plate and the kafta (beef kabobs, like in the picture) are my favorites, and the salad is delicious. The owner is also great; his friendliness enhances the dining experience. My husband and I can sit and talk with him for hours about all different topics. He's happy to make food recommendations and talk about his experiences. The owner is constantly making changes to the restaurant's aesthetics, and it looks better every time I go.

I have had the Shawarma sandwiches many times and they are always generous and delicious. Today I tried the Mandi Lamb, their namesake Yemeni dish. It was excellent in flavor and included yogurt, facilitating eating the well-seasoned lamb and basmati with the hand. The house-made hot sauce was perfect too. The portion was generous and price very reasonable. Service was fine as usual (often the owner). Give this place a try!

Always friendly and the food is delicious! I'm obsessed with their french fries, but their hummus, falafel sandwich, and baba ghanoush are also fantastic. They don't like to run cards for small transactions because of the cost to their business from the CC company, so be sure to have cash if you are going to order under $4.00.

Good spicy falafel. Good portion sizes. Great prices. Good hummus but only one pita bread. Will be going back next time we want some Mediterranean food.

I hope Nabil, the owner listed below, reads this. I recently visited Mandi house and felt called to post a review. I am giving them five stars not because I had an outstanding experience at this restaurant, but because I believe they have five star POTENTIAL. First, it would be great if the restaurant could play some Mediterranean music inside - it doesn't need to be much, just something to keep the customers happy. Second, I highly recommend all of the workers here read "The Go-Giver" by Bob Berg and listen closely to the story of Ernesto, the restaurant owner. Your restaurant has SO MUCH POTENTIAL, especially with the kindness and welcoming nature of the young man working there - in addition to the prime location. Please, please, please harness the potential to add value not only to you and your family, but also the Portland area. I believe in you! Nick

This is one of Portland's best kept secrets. There falafel is maybe the best I've ever had, and if you order the mezza plate to stay it's probably the best value meal in town. I'm not playing. It's still amazing but slightly smaller to go. The chicken swarm is only barely less incredible than the falafel sandwich. They do a ton of take out, so sometimes the service might look slow compared to the crowd, but it's really charming in a no-frills, non hipster way. Like right now I'm the only white person in here, it's legit. I never want to go back to my life before Mandi House.

The mezza plate is my favorite item to get here. Everything is fantastic and if you are vegan or gluten free they can change the menu to accommodate. The market has really unique items such as chocolate covered dates stuffed with an almond.

Great food at a great price. I went on a Sunday and the wait time was long, but there were only 2 employees that day; they were very apologetic about it. The baba ganoush, gyro, shawarma, and Turkish coffee were really really good!!
