Street and Company's lobster Diavolo is decadent. Starve yourself for a few days as their food is extraordinary. You'll appreciate the ambiance at this venue as well as the excellent service they provide. Keep in mind you'll wait for a lengthy period of time on the weekends and the menu prices are quite high. if money is not an issue nor time then these issues are moot. This restaurant is upscale so plan accordingly.

We were in Portland, ME for only two nights and we stayed in Old Port, so we wanted our dinners to be walking distance from the hotel. There are so many restaurants that sound good, that have been lauded in magazines like Bon Appetit, or profiled on TV shows. How on earth to choose? Well, if you're in a wheelchair, it's much easier because a lot in the Old Port area are not wheelchair accessible. It gets even easier if you wait until just a week before to try to make online reservations because you cannot get a reservation.

Street is everything you want a restaurant to be. We came on an artwalk night where Portland was hopping. We were warned that the table would be held for 15 minutes and we were not late. The service was attentive and responsive. The wine selection is especially good with low mark ups and a nice variety. Kudos on that as it encourages diners to enjoy a bottle of wine with their meal.
We (there were 4) each had different entrees and shared bites. I found the food to be excellently prepared, attractively presented and responsibly procured. Combinations of ingredients were skillful and interesting on the palate.
The ambience is fairly loud but we had a back table and could have regular conversation. The kitchen is visible to the restaurant adding a pleasant hustle and smell.
Highly recommended for friends and family.

This place is TOTALLY worth it! I recommend that you make a reservation a few days before your trip because they fill up really quickly. It was easy to find and on a really neat street in Portland. (Lots of cute places to go after right near by!) The atmosphere of Street and Co is unique. You can see the dishes being prepared fresh and there is garlic, onions, shallots ect. hanging all around the restaurant. Everything we tried here was fresh and incredible! Some of the BEST food I've ever had. I only wish we had time to go back!!

Did anyone else get a skillet FULL of minced garlic when they ordered the linguine in "red sauce"? What the...? I couldn't even eat it! I ate the clams and left the whole thing of pasta just sitting there. Waaaaay way way too much. More tomatoes, less garlic. Mussels Provençal were yummy, though!!!!

Great food, ambiance and service! We walked into the restaurant with no reservation and was accomodated at the oyster bar which turned to be great as we interacted with the welcoming staff working at the bar!!! Loved the experience!

Interesting menu, marvelous meal. Had the cured duck tasting, arugula salad and scallops in Pernod and cream, all delicious and well presented. My partner practically swooned over the mussel appetizer. Service was friendly and attentive. Sole complaint - ditch the rickety outside chairs for something a little sturdier! But certainly looking forward to coming back.

Great service, food, and atmosphere. Lobster bread pudding was delightfully yummy, and the scallops in pinod w mushrooms and the blackened halibut were very good. Our server was very attentive and personable. I'd go back!

One of my favorite places. I always order shrimp with butter and garlic or scallops in pernod with cream. Both delicious selections. Great wine selection, great atmosphere. Sitting at the bar is the best experience, the guys behind the oyster bar are so pleasant and entertaining.

Solid.. Quiet, cozy atmosphere on interesting street. Lot's of interesting nightlife nearby. Great food at a price. Service was solid and the food was timely. Scallops were perfect, but calamari was rubbery. Positive experience!

I travel to Portland on business so often eat at the bar. Comfortable and bar tenders are friendly. Good menu and food is delicious. I would stay away from the duck appetizer though. A bit dry and tasteless. Specials have always been great.

The atmosphere with the open kitchen is unique and attractive. While the prices are on the higher end I think you get what you pay for and your palate can be easily pleased by what the menu offers. I think it strives to be more than another seafood place in portland which is nice to see but then again it is a seafood place. Overall great feel, wonderful service and I would definitely continue to go back.

We started our evening by demolishing 18 oysters on the half shell. That was good. Followed up with the truly inspired Melon, Cucumber, Tomato & Avacado Salad with Basalmic & Mint. It's a tasty tilt-a-whirl for your tongue. Moved on to the Calamari in Peperonata. This is a chewy little gem that combines pablano & sweet peppers with the multi-appendaged, mini-monsters that are calamari. Finally we staggered on to our final culinary destination: Lobster Diavolo (for two! the menu helpfully ads) our table is conquered by a massive skillet combining lobsters, mussels, clams and linguini tossed in a spicy marinara. This is where things get fuzzy in my memory. All I really remember is a tsunami of flavors slamming me from lobster to mussel to clam and finally releasing me, tangled in linguini grasping my fork and grinning stupidly from all the food. This is an advanced culinary voyage that you must prepare for. It can be loud, it can be hectic & sometimes it can be overwhelming. But it will be an experience.

Just follow your nose to the aroma of garlic in old Port and you are in for a treat. Everything is delicious, especially the seafood.

The place to eat lobster. The lobster over linguine and butter-perfectly simple and delicious! Bonus-I don't know why the waitress did not tell us, but this dish is definitely big enough for two!

Do not let Bourdain's off remarks steer you from a good rustic seafood meal at Street and Co. One of our favorite places to dine. The bar is a lively and fun place to eat.

Oyster time. Just sit at the bar and order dozens of oysters. the menu, like many other seafood joints, is breathtakingly expensive, but you won't be disappointed.

One of our favorites. Street and Co has always been one of our favorites. Sit at the bar and enjoy a great warm atmosphere with fun service. Small tasting plates and a couple oysters are a good companion to a good wine list. Mussels are amazing and the rich scallop w/ Pernod dish cannot be missed. Try any of the fish special of the day and you should not be disappointed!

If you are lookIng for an upscale seafood meal with a Portland feel to it, this is your choice. Friendly staff and an emphasis on local ingrediants. The whole fish meal is usually a great choice, as are the scallops. Can be a bit loud if you are in the main room that overlooks the kitchen.

Loved my dinner with my husband when we visited Maine for the first time. The mussels in garlic wine sauce was my favorite appetizer and is a large portion so definitely to be shared and definitely to have bread dipped into the sauce. My husband got the scallop dish and I got the Atlantic cod, both of which were perfect. Not the cheapest but worth the value. Definitely would come back.

My friend and I legitimately wandered into the restaurant with absolutely no idea what the name was. The entrance literally is in a sketchy, abandoned alley way that you shouldn't walk down alone. They got us a walk-in table last minute and the whole experience was AMAZING. Staff was so friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. Their menu differs daily evidently. Their menu focused on seafood, compared to their sister restaurant Fore Street Restaurant up the road from them, who focus on land meats and veggies. (We ended up visiting that place the next night cuz why not). Pictured was their unique menu that night of a whole grilled lobster on top of a bed of spaghetti and white garlic sauce, and my friend had gotten their scallops in a white wine sauced spaghetti. Yes, they came served on a giant, sizzling skillet! And also pictured, a bottle of their Moscato we shared. It was the best, unexpected surprise of a restaurant experience EVER. It can be a fancy experience, or literal casual experience - they don't discriminate! Evident by us showing up looking raggedy for a "quick meal" 🤣

Such a cute vibe in here. So cozy, warm and personal. We sat in the lounge area at the bar and ordered drinks and their two oysters of the day. Service was wonderful, drinks lovely and the oysters outstanding of course. Would definitely recommend for a date night or a small cocktail party that is cozy and personal.

Restaurant was recommended by local Mainer and boy was this the highlight meal of our trip. My friend even recommended the Scallops in Pernod and they possibly were the best scallops I’ve ever had. Everything about dining at Street and Co was exceptional from the moment we arrived until we departed. There are many great restaurants in the city of Portland near the waterfront but this one is a must visit if exceptional seafood is your goal.

Food is excellent! My swordfish was a perfect dish. I don't think the service here is as spectacular as you'd expect but the food was spot on. It is not a cozy, low-key ambiance. The dining area is very open and is set up more like an eatery but it is entertaining to be able to watch the kitchen from the dining area including mirrors for those facing the opposite direction. I would recommend solely for the menu here and execution. I would not say it's a romantic night out but could make for a great family or informal date.

If you're looking for lobster this is the spot. My wife and I both enjoyed the grilled lobster over linguine. The meat was so fresh and sweet and the buttered wine sauce is perfectly complimentary. Don't sleep on the cocktails either.
