Went there for the first time yesterday to meet someone for coffee and immediately fell in love with the place!! Bright and roomy with lots of beautiful pottery to see and buy!! Coffee and food were great too and staff was very friendly! Huge thumbs up!!
Portland Pottery Cafe is my all time number one place for breakfast! The atmosphere is funky, the menu choices have something (delicious) for everyone, and the staff is very friendly. We celebrated an early birthday celebration for me on Wednesday and I plan to come back again on my actual birthday for another celebration. 5 stars.
Fabulous service and excellent quality food! The charming atmosphere is relaxing and feels just like you’re with family.
Food was AMAZING !!! Huge portions. We picked the cafe at random from Yelp and we have a new favorite breakfast/brunch spot.
Cooper's an excellent teacher! I just started taking classes there and love the fact that I can go there when I'm not in class to use the machines! Awesome place!
A great local source for clay bodies, tools, glazes, you name it! Easy to get to from just about everywhere, we love to get a bite to eat at the cafe and then shop the pottery supplies. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and fast.
Wonderful food and dog friendly outdoor seating when available! Friendly service good coffee!
Lindsey was such an amazing help to me! Thank you so much for leading me in the right direction! Next time though, I'm staying for lunch!!! Looked and smelled delicious!
My 5 year old son just took his first pottery class here and loved it! Awesome experience for him!
Our studio runs on portland pottery! I wish we lived closer. Breakfast at the cafe is delicious and I love being surrounded by pots and pottery-minded people! Super friendly & helpful.
I started my first pottery class last month. I love that I can use the studio while enrolled in classes to practice - which is becoming a frequent practice. Highly skilled teachers, friendly mellow atmosphere, super location! Can’t wait to start again in January!
What a great place to have lunch with friends! Wonderful food.
They have the best hot chocolate I've ever had! Love the brownies and cookies. The avocado blt so good!
Shhhh but not enough to keep them in business. Hidden gem of the city. Must have the hot coco (summer isn't an excuse).
Just visited Portland Pottery. Absolutely fantastic service from Brian Buckland. The cafe was hopping. It was the place to be!
This was an amazing revisit. So much has improved from our last visit a few years ago- it was already a favorite now it is really a total gem. The staff, setting and scene is warm welcome casual. The food original and fresh. Cooked perfectly. The tofu scramble as you may have already read is so good. The flavor and freshness makes it warm and superb. The spinach has a crisp snap while the artichoke hearts add the extra texture. The buttermilk biscuits stay together long enough to make a yummy tofu scramble or smother in homemade jam.
Had the most peaceful, lovely morning here. Good food served hot, handmade mugs to use for in-house coffee, cute wooden tables and chairs and pottery available for our hade from different artists. I got the Good Morning breakfast and a chocolate French Roast cookie (the cookie is amazing). Also the drip coffee was nice and flavorful. Staff were very kind. Masks required when not at table.
The best textured quiche I've ever had. Tasty iced coffee and a small beer and wine list are a nice touch, the mimosas were a nice addition to breakfast.
Stopped in Portland on a Tuesday afternoon after labor day and spotted this place when pretty much every restaurant in the bustling neighborhood was closed. Ended up having the best meal of our vacation. The food was made to order. From salmon sandwich to pasta with shisedo peppers. Everything was fresh and the simplicity of the flavors won us over. We also got a slice of salted caramel chocolate cake to share and it was delicious. Probably the best piece of chocolate cake I've ever had. Not super rich or sweet. And yet so moist and complex. The food was served in their handmade pottery. It was a sensory experience. This is how good food should be. Simple, unassuming and not trying too hard. A little poetic today but it was actually this good. We will definitely be back.
I took my elderly mother out here for breakfast for her birthday this week. I seldom see her finish off her entire plate. This time, she did! We both loved our meals. They were thoughtfully-prepared, tasty, and a good portion. She isn't able to dine indoors at present, due to risk factors. So, I am extremely grateful to the Pottery Cafe for their outside tables. Thank you!
I was happy to see a vegan option or two. I was expecting a typical tofu scramble due to a previous reviewer who claimed that the coffee was "fast food grade," that the service was bad, and the food was "stingy." Boy, was she wrong. The wrap was GIMONGOUS, and my friend's sandwich was too. They were both incredibly fresh and flavorful. AND HUGE!!! The freshest spinach, avocado, and other delights with cubed fried tofu in a wrap. And the red potato home fries are fresh and not possibly anything like "fast food grade." I didn't try the coffee, though. lol. The staff was incredibly nice, and offered so much assistance when we ordered and had questions. I thanked the chef, and she took time to talk with me. I almost hugged her, it was so amazing.
And, the pottery and art are wonderful. I'm saving up for a bowl I fell in love with.
A wonderful place. Coffee is served in beautiful handmade mugs and the desserts always feel like grandma(who knows what she's doing in the kitchen) made them and prepared with lots of love. A wonderful place where a visitor to Portland can experience what the locals feel year round.
Baked goods and breakfast here are great. You can order two eggs and some toast off the side menu and just spend 5 bucks. Great deal for a severe budget, just saying.
