Lived in Portland in the 1970s-80s and loved especially the raised glazed and jelly donuts. Just came back from a visit to Portland and was amazed to see the shop is still there ... and still churning out the BEST donuts I've had in many years! Better still, the atmosphere is one of community ~ old-timers meet for coffee, locals gather to catch up on the news, all ages are accommodated. And the staff couldn't be more welcoming and friendly. If Maine is "the way life should be" then Tony's Donuts is "the way a coffee shop should be."

Tony’s is my go to happy place. Their crullers and jelly doughnuts make me swoon. Come spring, their hot cross buns are the best in Maine! We’ve been going to Tony’s for 37+ years.

If I tell people just how great Tony's Donuts are, they will leave the chain donut stores and create horribly long lines at Tony's so I won't say anything about how incredible a fresh cooked donut from Tony's is.
Love this place !!! Best donuts around !!!!! Great service as well !!!!
I was in Maine on vacation and I had to make a trip to Tony’s.
I was born and raised in Maine. We moved to Florida in 2016.
We can’t find anything close to what Tony’s makes.
I love Tony’s!! Fresh made everyday & super nice staff
Whenever I'm in that area it's mandatory to make a stop there. You won't find better donuts, pastries anywhere!
Jelly filled glazed heaven.
It's a perfect 10! Always so fresh and yummy! Better than the other donut shops.
All sorts of good stuff !!! ....................................................
Best donuts ever!
Need to ship them out to Prescott AZ!
Great donut place with ample parking and friendly staff. Visited several times. My favorites were the eclair and cream horn.
Found Tony's over 20 yrs ago on one of our many trips to Maine. Great donuts. Love the bumper sticker. Now a Mainer going on 15 yrs
First time stopping in to Tony's Donuts, and we thouroughly enjoyed! Tried the maple glazed and chocolate glazed, they were delicious, fluffy, straight-forward donuts. Not over-priced either. The fellow behind the counter was very friendly. There were tables and chairs, but we didn't stay to eat. The parking lot is small, not sure what it's like in the mornings, but no trouble finding parking at 3pm!
Our favorite donut shop never lets us down. When we venture into town, we often pick up a 1/2 dozen donuts and some eclairs for a treat. They bake the old fashioned donuts we had as kids and not the greasy lead sinkers that you often get at the chains. Unlike the latter's donuts they do not revisit you a few hours later.
Whenever our family 'From Away' comes back to visit, the first stop, after the baggage claim at the airport, is Tony's which is conveniently nearby. The grandchildren love to stand at the counter display and pick out their favorite donuts and pastries. It is the proverbial 'kid in the candy shop' scene. Usually a few donuts never make it back to the car.
The counter clerks are very patient as you pick out one of these and two of those and ask for granulated sugar on some and powdered sugar on others.
If you have never had them, give them a visit, but beware: you won't be satisfied with 'chain' donuts anymore. By the way: the donuts with the holes in the middle have had all the calories removed, so eat away and enjoy.
First time to Tony's and it didn't disappoint. There was a decent selection and everything looked good. Pictured is an apple fritter. It was huge, about 7 inches in diameter. It was also filled with apple. The blueberry donut was filled with blueberries. Donuts are pretty pricey compared to Dunkin, but the quality is way better.
