Really charming local restaurant. Lovely modern but warm decor featuring local scenes/art. Friendly attentive staff. Excellent food, especially the swordfish and mussels.
Potomac prices, but it was also a quality meal. I look forward to the next time!
Great bartenders with a variety of cocktails
Really charming local restaurant. Lovely modern but warm decor featuring local scenes/art. Friendly attentive staff. Excellent food, especially the swordfish sandwich. We came for lunch but it would be a nice spot for dinner, too. Potomac prices, but it was also a quality meal. I look forward to the next time!
Cozy environment. I ordered grilled octopus salad. It was delicious. The sauce was very tasty. The service was excellent and we even got hot towels at the end. Highly recommend. Definitely will come back.
Went hiking at C&O Canal and was looking to have a burger type of meal afterward. This fit the bill. I got a chicken sandwich, the chicken was quite dry but with everything else on the sandwich, it wasn’t a horrible thing. The flavors were married together well. My cousin got a burger and he said it was definitely worth the $20. Their prices were high but given the area, I assume this is why. The highlight of lunch was the apple dessert. Wow. Standing ovation. It was tough choosing between the deserts offered as they all sounded delicious. Would recommend Lock72!
We had an exceptional day yesterday, and Lock 72 was a big part of it! We were greeted and seated with smiles. The main service was outstanding all the way through the meal--it was the guy with the heavy clear frame glasses, and he knows his stuff. We started with the watermelon gazpacho and shrimp cocktails, and both were excellent. So refreshing after our hike at Great Falls (we cleaned up before coming to the restaurant)! My entree was the steak sandwich and thankfully we had gotten the mushroom side, because as delicious as the sandwich is, adding some mushrooms to many of the bites improves it still. The sweet potato puree side was like a dessert. The consistency was similar to that of a mousse. Get it! One of my companions got the crab cakes and filet combo and reserved a couple of bites for me, and yes they were delicious. Highly recommend!
Went to lunch with co-worker. Great dining atmosphere, great service, our waiter was very good, almost treated us like he owned the place. Menu was a bit limited, but food was good. My buddy got a salad with grilled chicken, I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a salad on the side, their lemon vinaigrette was awesome!
Wanted to try because it is a chef-driven restaurant. Did not disappoint. I am fine with a robust bill for quality food and execution, and that is what they served. Hoping to come back to try the early or late happy hour.
I dined at Lock 72 for the first time this past Sunday enjoying a sensational prime casual dining experience. The entire L72 operation is well thought out including curb appeal, interior design, lighting and furnishings; superior hospitality/customer service from knowledgeable, personable staff; wonderfully prepared and artfully plated menu list - using flavorful, farm fresh ingredients.
The interior is done in lighter color earth tones, restaurant interior has appealing sight lines, soft lighting and music sound level is moderate. I dined at the bar. The bar chairs have backs, seats have a bit of cushion and the bar top is stone. I enjoyed Swordfish with beurre blanc sauce substitution I requested, Fresh Cut Fries and Carrot Cake for dessert that is served with a scoop of homemade Vanilla Ice Cream. L72 Carrot Cake is delicious. It is not the cloying carrot cake you often encounter. I started with a Negroni that Randy, the bartender, kindly made for me using my recipe, 1 shot gin, 1/2 shot Campari and 1/4 shot sweet vermouth stirred on rocks and strained into a rocks glass and enjoyed a sauvignon blanc paired with the swordfish, a shot of Kahlúa and shot of espresso with the carrot cake and vanilla ice cream. I ended ordering a shot of Meyer’s Rum. Easy to become a regular here I believe.
Don’t usually leave 5 star reviews but was completely blown away, surpassed expectations. Food was great and amazing service. Worth the drive out.
Good place to have a meal. Service is polite and informative. Did not have to explain that we were sharing. Staff portioned out dishes for us, no prompt at all. Food prepared to order and seasoned nicely. Interior is homey, well lit and clean. Recommend for sure.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! First time out in a year and I don't even want to go to another restaurant. This place has ruined me for all others.
This place is the best for miles around. The staff is efficient, courteous, masked and friendly. And then there's the food. So many delicious choices. You want to go back as soon as you leave. I'm looking forward to trying other RW restaurants.
Food was delicious! Best salmon I’ve had in a while!
Excellent food, but very pricey: $42 for some tuna alone - no veggies or carbs! Not even bread was brought to the table. The service was mediocre - no salt and pepper on the table "setup", and the waiter didn't understand what I meant when Iasked whether the tuna was moist or dry.
Nick is a great manager! Nice signature drinks. Buffalo wings are delicious and $6 during Happy Hour from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day. How can you beat that?
Went on a Sunday and while we had a decent bit of a wait for an outdoor table - this place is fantastic! The wings, oysters, thai mussels, mushroom pasta, and burgers were all great. Ambiance was lovely. The ice cream was a beautiful surprise for the kiddos. Service started a bit slow but wow did they come through at the end. 10/10. Definitely recommend sitting outside. Thanks!
Went for drinks with some friends on the weekend and had a great time. Great food and drinks and a wonderful, fun bartender named Cody who personalized our drinks to suit our individual preferences. Will definitely come back- such a quaint location with the building tucked into a recessed area of the shopping center. Nice intimate setting inside with a friendly staff.

Great little restaurant. Very nice, pleasant and effective staff. Very good food for the price. Probably the best omelet I have ever tasted. Thanks!
