What a gem of a neighborhood market and prepared food place. Amazing prepared foods and delicious custom-made sandwiches! Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you receive. The service is absolutely fantastic! My hat's off to the owners of this shop. I definitively recommend this gem of a place.
This place is the best. Fresh fish, great meats and sides, sandwiches, soups and salads and beers & wines. Friendly and always impeccable service. I’m going to pick up some sandwiches and Halibut this afternoon.
Potomac Grocer catered my Halloween Party. It was amazing, the food fantastic! Max Devens went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect, even inventing a new dish for the event. They made it easy for me to have a very large crowd and have fun at my own party!
Ordered the steam cracked lobsters for dinner. That were delicious Five Star.🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Well worth the visit. I stop by here each week to pick out the prepared food in the coolers. Saves time and my family is always happy with the selections .
I made my first visit to Potomac grocer in search of high quality seafood and was not disappointed. The gentleman behind the counter could tell I didn't necessarily have a plan, and was able to steer me in the right direction with some probing. When I wasn't particularly fond of the pieces of halibut on display, he happily went to get some more from the back and cut some new filets to my weight specifications. He even asked how I planned to cook it and offered his expertise. The fish was not only noticeably fresh and high quality, but was beautifully cut. I would happily venture out of my way to come back here for seafood.
This is a wonderful place to pick up both raw and prepared foods.
The shop has an excellent fish selection and its meat offerings have really become very good as well (especially the house made sausages). Produce and dairy are both very good; a little more organic produce might be appreciated (they do pretty well on the local end, but often lack organics).
Prepared foods are various and often reflect some seasonal offerings. Personal favorites include racks of ribs and meatballs. There are often good salads in the prepared section as well.
Service is great and friendly. Overall you cannot go wrong at the Potomac Grocer (please be aware this is more of an epicurious place and less of a local market with lots of canned or packaged items - there are some, but not much).

Potomac Grocer on the go! Picked up broccoli salad, goat cheese, chorizo, salmon salad, chicken salad, fruit, on the way to Shenandoah National Park. Such a perfect picnic and perfect day to enjoy the fall foliage. Thank you, Potomac Grocer!!
This is my favorite grocery store in the world. I have been a weekly customer since 2015. I’m posting this now because I just returned from the store and devoured a pint of their vegan mushroom soup. It is epic. I did add some excellent spicy curry powder.
Why do I love this store so much? First the staff is the best. Friendly and professional even in this time of COVID.
Second, the seafood is the best you can get other than directly from the boat. Not surprising since the owner was a fish wholesaler and, Max, the head fish guy, has been famous in this area for finding the best fish. If Oprah knew of this place, she would order them here rather than G&M near BWI.
Max is a foodie. He has told me often exactly how to prepare various fish and meat dishes. Each time my prepared dish was over the moon.
The prices are fair for the very finest quality and customer service in Potomac Village.
Great little grocery store and a nice change in pace from the nearby supermarkets. I see some complaints about prices (if you're a bargain shopper, stick to said supermarkets) but their sandwiches are fantastic and very reasonably priced. They also have a nice little selection of beer & wine.
I absolutely love this grocer! It’s small-town service, and most importantly, phenomenal advice on cooking some of the great selections that they have. Overall quality of food is top notch!
I've been here a fair amount recently. They have excellent prepared foods and really great fish/seafood quality. A great place to grab something to heat up for dinner that tastes home made!

I highly recommend the chipotle chicken salad, you can clearly taste the top-notch ingredients as everything is fresh and local.

Got the NY Strip from butcher, they were fantastic. Butcher was super friendly. Will get more meats and fish here!
