Shelly's deli has some of the best gluten free options in town. The sandwich rolls are amazing and for those of us who need to eat gluten free, it's nice to actually eat a deli sandwich again like the rest of the world. Also ordered catering for a holiday party and the food did not disappoint. EVERYTHING was made gluten free friendly (penne a la vodka, eggplant parm, sausage and peppers, and chicken Marsala) and was a hit amongst the gluten and non-gluten eaters! The owner was incredibly helpful and knowledgable about food allergies! I recommend Shellys deli to anyone who wants a quick bite or is looking for catering!
Shelly's Deli is an oasis for those of us who are gluten free but wish to experience some sense of normalcy when dining out. Their food is absolutely delicious, with several options for gluten free. They take their time and special consideration for those of us with serious needs (celiac disease). I will certainly be back, and recommend anyone who wants a delicious deli sandwich for lunch or needs catering for a party to check this place out!!!!

Get the Vanderbilt...it’s incredible. Highly recommend. It’s unfortunate I live so far away it’s rare to find a deli with such great food and customer service where I am from. I’ll make sure to stop Shelly’s every time I come to Poughkeepsie.

I got a party catered from here. Everyone went out of their way to tell me how great the food is, even the potato salad and coleslaw was raved and ranted about (which in my experience are just bland and mediocre from most places I've had it). Everything was delicious and the owner was so helpful through the ordering and delivery process. Will be returning to Shelly's Deli without a doubt.

Favorite Hometown Deli! I get lunch or dinner a couple times a week and it is always stellar!!! But tonight I grabbed the Crack Chix with Mac & Cheese on the go and it was one of the most delicious dishes I have ever had! Must try! The staff is pretty awesome too!

Shelly's Deli continues to be my go to deli for the best lunch sandwiches in town. Don't let all these other reviews fool you: The food is delicious and EVERYTHING is significantly fresher and more premium tasting than any other deli in the area. I almost wouldn't even call them a deli; They are the best sandwich shop in town! (yes they do serve your traditional deli foods too!) Oh and they do catering too!!! We had an event recently catered by them and everyone RAVED about how good the food was!
Every time I have gone in the owners and staff are kind and courteous and ALWAYS go above and beyond. I was even in a few weeks ago and a sandwich was made on the wrong type of bread and they remade the entire sandwich for free for the customer!
Long story short, whether you're new to the area or a long time resident, if you haven't tried Shelly's Deli yet you are missing out!
Ordered catering for an anniversary celebration. Everyone really enjoyed the food. We had pulled pork, mac & cheese, Spanish rice, sausage and peppers, mixed veggies, and a wonderful salad with roasted red peppers and grilled chicken. Without question I would definitely order catering from Shelly's in the future. Thanks for providing great food for our party!
Best deli in town! I have celiac and am 100% confident that I won't get glutened by accident. They have designated GF cutting boards and utensils! Their potato salad is the best! Make this your regular deli. You won't be disappointed!
My sandwich was great, but I'm concerned about health and safety protocol. No one here was wearing a mask, customers or staff, despite current nys mask mandate. I will not be returning.

I'd rather give four and a half stars, but Google doesn't let you do that on mobile. Food was delicious, they were really accommodating. We had a rather large order and they had our food ready to go in no time. Only reason I'm not giving a full five stars is the drinks selection and chips selection were not as varied as I would prefer. Otherwise I have zero complaints. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll be stopping here for lunch again
