It's just as great as it was when I was a kid. Best old fashioned burger joint around. My kids and I love the burgers and onion rings. Just remember to bring cash.
The place has been open since 1955, so that should tell you a little about it. The burgers are tasty. I understand they get their meat ground fresh daily from Day's Market next door, and that the grind is all the steak and roast trim. It makes for good beef. The bun is kind of plain. They could have a better bun, and it would make for an overall better burger. Shakes are tasty and fries are cut in house. Bathrooms don't work, and they only take cash. Had those two things been different, probably all five stars. Their business hours are Tuesday to Saturday 11-6 (or whenever they run out of meat, which ever is first)
This is a great "greasy spoon" burger joint. By far the best onion rings I have found in the area. I don't like the thick breaded rings so these thin and crispy rings are on point. The burgers are great with a great crust on them. They don't accept check, credit or debit card so don't forget your cash. I have heard they have great lime squeezes. I will have to try that next time we go. Also, they are not open on Sunday's or Monday's.
Probably one of the best burgers around! My black raspberry was amazing as well. Defiantly would recommend this place to anyone. They have a pretty basic menu with amazing made-to-order food. Fries onion rings shakes and burgers, come here and you will leave happy. Pretty cheap to if you ask me.
My husband introduced me to this place. Once a long-time resident of Provo, this place was always one of his favorite places to go and grab a quick bite when growing up. It's got the old school drive-in charm, the prices are great, and the menu, while simple, has a little something for everyone. All American food. (Get a Fresh Lime to drink, nobody makes them better!) The one and only drawback is that they only accept cash as payment.
Some places don't ever change, and this is one of them. That's a good thing in the case of Ripples. They do things their way: closing on Monday, only staying open until 6 pm, and only accepting cash. The drive in fare is simple, but delicious. I think their fries are some of the best I've ever had, and their fresh limes really hit the spot when you need something refreshing because they're made from just simple sugar, limes and seltzer--not 7 up or Sprite like most places that ruins the flavor. Their normal burgers are more of a thinner In-n-out kind of style so I like to get at least a double cheese burger when I'm really hungry.
I can't explain why I like this place so much. Maybe it's the fries that are created from actual potatoes. Or their fry sauce which seems to be the perfect blend of welcoming with a slight tanginess. Or their quarter pound burger, fried on a griddle, with the perfect amount of crusting. Then again, it could be the fresh lime squeeze, with real limes thrown in with the pebble ice, which makes for fantastic munching after the drink is gone. Whatever it is, I like it, and it keeps bringing me back. Long live Ripples!
Good burgers. Good shakes. A little pricey as all items are a la carte. Come with cash as they do not accept credit or debit cards. The food quality and historical value of the place makes it worth getting off the beaten path and going out of the way to bring cash to enjoy.
Ripple's is the best! This was my dad's favorite place to eat growing up. He always takes us here when he visits Provo. Personally I like their shakes the best, the freezes are good too (soda + ice cream). Classic burger joint, but it's not a chain, which has an appeal to me. Definitely check this place out! Just a heads-up- they only take cash and are only open during the day. Enjoy!
Cash only. I repeat cash only. That out of the way man this place is worth taking cash out for :) The fresh strawberry shakes make me want to eat here everyday and the burgers and fries are a great classic diner style that I love. Great place can't recommend it enough.
Ripples is a community staple. Its been around forever for a reason - good food for a good price. Not the cheapest burger and strawberry shake you’ll find but the burger is made with fresh meat and the shake with ripe strawberries. Highly recommend to anyone interested in a classic american drive-in meal. Emphasis on the drive-in not through.
This is a fun iconic place to go in Provo. Although you do have do be aware that they don't accept credit or debit card, so bring cash. We had burgers, fries and milkshakes while we were there, and they were all delicious
Ripples is a local favorite. They're only open Tu-Sat 11-6 and ONLY take cash. They have really good burgers (you can choose between 1/8 and 1/4 lb. patties) and their Fresh Strawberry shake is amazing!
I’ve been visiting this amazing place for decades. They have only gotten better through the years. If you are looking for a tasty and comforting burger, this is the place. And the fries...get outta here! So good.
Good food, quick service, but doesn't accept any kind of payment other than cash, so keep that in mind if you go. The owner is a great guy, and his ingredients are fresh and he has very reasonable prices. I eat here often because it's so cheap and quick.
