A gem tucked away in a beach town. The food was excellent and lots of varieties. Prices are reasonable. A few places to sit. The bathrooms were clean. Friendly staff. They do a lot of take out.
Wanted something different other than seafood or Mexican and found this little place. Staff was super friendly and the food was really really good. I had the Cuban sandwich.
Great find tucked away in the north side of Punta Gorda! Food here is freshly made and they brine their own corned beef. The Ruben was delicious and had plenty of meat. I got a huge chopped salad with house grilled chicken and real bacon. Lots of avocado. Super friendly staff. Open for lunch
Top quality sandwich shop. Fast and friendly service, excellent for a quick and delicious lunch. Chef Tom even makes house cured corned beef! To die for!
I was there for the first time a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful lunch to take home.
Everything I ordered was excellent.
LooKing forward to my return trip soon for a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich.
I hope they have Chicken Noodle Soup again, it was magnificent; this time I plan to get two of the largest size of the soup.
I also want to try their chicken Marsala.

Great food and awesome service! Stopped here on our way in from the airport for the first real meal of our honeymoon and we couldn't be happier! The sandwiches were absolutely delicious and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Will definitely be making a return trip if we have time!
Great cuban sandwich and the tomato soup was to die for. It's a little run-down looking, but the food was phenomenal and I will definitely come back. I only wish they were open a bit later!
This place is a real gem. Their meatball sub is the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The soups are house made from scratch and are amazing. It is a small place that caters to local businesses, workers and others with takeout for lunch. You can eat there with 2 tables inside and a few tables outside. Open 10:00 am to 2:30pm. No breakfast or dinner. The servings are gigantic. I ate half my lunch and was stuffed and ate the rest for dinner.
Stopped in for our 1st time. Place is not large so don't blink or you will miss it. Both sandwiches were delicious. Complimentary sample of tomato soup was unexpected and also very good. Do I recommend Wood St. Grill? Without any reservations, yes.
Great food and great people as well always friendly and ready to cater to any dish you can think of.
*Update- This place has changed ownership, the new owners are very nice. They have kept the menu the same with a couple of tweeks to the ingredients. Overall everything is still great, highly recommend.

Although they didn’t have a Corned Beef Special on the menu (corned beef, Russian dressing, coleslaw on rye), I asked them to make me one. It was so outstanding! I grew up in suburban Philadelphia with some famous Jewish delis and they nailed it exactly. They corn their own beef.
Very quaint place. The staff was friendly. Our food was done fairly quickly. I had a philly cheesesteak, it was good, although it needed more cheese. There wasn't very much cheese at all, more cheese sprinkled on top of the meat & throughout.--
Frequently visit this location, owners are professional and personal. My favorite sandwich is the Italian
Chicken salad is amazing. Bacon was crispy ~ just the wY I ordered it. Food is hot and very good.
We preordered a lunch for a regional staff meeting, so we had 11 lunches that needed to be ready by a certain time and Shelly and her crew nailed it. They were great to work with, everything was ready on time. We gave them a list (along with the name of staff but that was more for us) and they even wrote the names on each take out box for whose lunch it was! ❤️
They even packed up the two sodas we ordered.
Everyone was happy with their lunches and Wood Street staff didn’t miss a single thing on the order (even an extra sauce request). I highly recommend to use them and we definitely will again.
Small place. Very little seating. What they were missing in seating was compensated with good food and owners were very friendly.
