I’ve been coming here for 26 years, moved out of state and nothing has ever changed, I hope for the love of God it doesn’t! Best breakfast in the ENTIRE STATE. You will never forget the Mickey Mouse Pancake brought my first born to recreate the memories!!!
Bill's has been an area favorite for years. What once used to stand with the likes of Jason's restaurant, PJ's Donuts later PJ's diner and more recently Main St. Grille as one of many options for your breakfast enjoyment has found itself standing tall long after others have fallen.
While not the only breakfast place in town, Bill's has a name and brand of products (English muffins and the homemade corned beef hash come to mind.) That continue to resonate with us locals. While this most recent trip was a first for me in quite some time the food was the same quality I expected from previous visits.
My party picked up 2 steak and egg meals with rye toast and an order of 2 french toast with a side of bacon.
The steaks both came at the proper temp ordered, the eggs were perfectly over easy and the home fries were as wonderful as I remember being seasoned enough to not be bland but mild enough for a customer to salt and pepper to suit.
The waitress was wonderful, while I sadly forget what her name was, I will tell you she was warm and attentive. My shy daughter ordered her food a bit slower and got flustered when she couldn't remember how she likes her food. She also asked for extra rye toast later, and the waitress never seemed put out or irritated at the less than confident interaction that my daughter engaged with.
The price was about what one would expect. I'm sure there are places that cost less and there are definitely places that cost more, but the prices should not be considered a deterrent. The food is fresh, many items are made in house and day of, these prices merely reflect the quality and time put into the food offered.
Over all a 4.5 star experience. I couldn't speak to what would make it 5 star, which I understand can be frustrating for those looking for areas to improve, but I would imagine it would be smaller frivolous things that were more attune to individual preferences
My family and I have been coming here for years. It's probably our favorite breakfast spot. Its always cozy, nice spot to just eat and talk with family and friends. I always order their veggie omelette but decided to go with the classic eggs Benedict and a blueberry pancake. My dad ordered a bagel, home fries, and eggs. Both orders were so good. The bagel and pancake are made there and taste so fresh. The eggs Benedict was really good. The blueberries in the pancake were do delicious and the coffee is good. I've also bought some of their muffins as well and those are so yummy.
The service is good here too, the waitresses are always attentive and nice.
Great breakfast or lunch. Bill's sevice and food remain consisantly great. We always go for breakfasts which are very generous. The parking lot has plenty of space. Bill's is wheel chair accessable. Corned beef hash is very good. Expect to spend around $12/person.
Putnam is full of little gem's and Bill's Bread and Breakfast does not disappoint!
Upon entering you are greeted with a friendly Hello and the scents of fresh baked bread and cinnamon.
After making a brief scan of the menu, I thought I may settle on the Crab Cake Benedict. I asked our waitress how the crab cakes were, she said "Amazing", I said "I'll try them!" My husband decided on the same. The very first bite let me know I made the right choice. The english muffin was homemade and baked in house, the crab cake was amazing, just as promised. The hollandaise sauce was absolutely perfect, smooth and rich. I got my egg runny and it was also done right! This dish was spot on and will be something I will look forward to having again. My husband also tried a blueberry cheese danish which was great. The waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Bill's Bread and Breakfast should be your go to spot for breakfast or an early lunch, they close at 2 p.m., I know we will be going back again and again!
It's been a while since the last time I went to this restaurant and they did not disappoint! The food was fresh. The waitresses were very kind and attentive. I had the crab cake eggs benedict. It was absolutely delicious and priced around $12.99 unbeatable! I highly respect that you check them out for yourself. Family friendly and delicious.
I love coming here! The food is always good, and let's talk about the homemade muffins and bread! TO DIE FOR! The staff is always friendly, definitely on our list of favorite places to eat breakfast!
I had Spanish omlette and son had mickey pancake and muffins to take home. Everything tasted lovely, wait staff were wonderful, thank you for a great breakfast, back again soon.
The food here is always great!! I ordered scrambled eggs, hash browns and raisin toast, it was delicious. Light golden brown hash browns, done right! I loved my breakfast. Handicap accessible, public rest room, handicap parking. My daughter got the omelet! It was huge!!
Food was good. Good prices, fast friendly service, was dark do I needed a light to read the nenu
Breakfast until 1pm on Sundays! Thank you! Some places nearby won't offer breakfast a minute after noon. So we went to Bill's and guess what? We will be back! Great food, not huge portions that you won't eat all of it. And the best part? Gluten free blueberry muffins! I'll go back just for those!
Not a huge menu but plenty of specials, on the board. Blueberry muffin was delicious. Irish benedict, was quite good. Interior was nicely decorated with plenty of seating. Waitress was very nice but a little forgetful. Definitely a place to re visit and sample more of the menu
Kevin is amazing, because of him the Bill's name stands at the top of Putnam breakfast experiences. I'm a lifetime customer!
Great local place for breakfast dine in, take out, killer muffins and bakery items and great coffee
I stopped in here after a nearby hike to grab a breakfast sandwich. I ordered over the phone and was able to go in to pick up the food. Everyone was wearing facemasks and gloves which was great and seemed to be extra careful with the food. We got one ham and one turkey sausage sandwich both on the homemade English muffins. Boy were they great! There was a generous amount of meat and the bread was very well made. I'd recommend a stop in.
This is one of my favorite diners period, and I have tried a lot of them. I love their food, potatoes are outstanding, they offer coffee/tea to go when you leave, prices are great, and staff are always so nice.
Have the eggs florentine and it was delicious. Wish I had ordered some meat to go along with it but who knew. Wish I had had room for one of their wonderful looking muffins!
