After eating lunch and dinner at the Public House twice in a week, how could the diner not be awesome?! I am visiting from out of town and my cousin took me here this morning for breakfast and it was great! My cousin had the Eggs Benedict with ham and she loved it. I had the breakfast burrito with home fries, which was also great! Ordered brisket hash with poached eggs to go, and my husband enjoyed it. There aren't very many breakfast places in town, and the new owner really made improvements to the menu. We met the owner and he was very nice and personable. Our server was very attentive... overall, great little breakfast spot and I'll be looking forward to having breakfast with my family here the next time I visit!
The food was delicious!! We all had a BLT which was by far the best BLT we’ve ever had! The service was outstanding and the staff were very courteous and friendly! I highly recommend this diner if you’re in the Quechee area!
If you come to the diner and you complain prices are high, you haven’t then taken into consideration the priceless generous amounts of food, the wonderful atmosphere and the hard working staff. The only tip I can give someone that comes to the Public House Diner is, be prepared to take a to go box. My new favorite breakfast spot!
We had breakfast here. The food was great and the portions large. We ddid not need to eat lunch. The best thing about this place is the staff. Super friendly and attentive.
I'll start first by saying if you can't afford to eat out, then you should go to the grocery store and prepare something yourself. The prices here aren't any more than you'd pay at Perkins, Dennys, etc, and on top of that, you wouldn't be surrounded by this vintage atmosphere at any of those places . This restaurant is absolutely adorable and whatever hiring method this restaurant manager uses should be utilized far more often, incredibly cordial and professional staff. How anyone could leave a bad review is beyond me.
Just amazing food, high level diner food. The chowder was a refined version of the classic New England Clam chowder, with fresh ingredients, bacon, green onion and a not too thick creamy soup base. Great service!
I love being in this diner cart. Great atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. I got an omlette and home fries with a side of maple sausage patties. Everything tasted great and you get a ton of food for the price. Bottomless coffee. And you never know who you're going to run into here! Looking forward to seeing them grow into a staple of the Upper Valley!
I had the roasted vegetable hash...it was the best breakfast I have had in a long time! Great service, no wait..I will definitely be back.
Love the new Public house diner! Hash is homemade awesome and they have the best biscuits and gravy (with scallions!) in VT.
Delicious food. Great staff. Amazing atmosphere! Definitely a must go to place. You can count on me going back !
Excellent service and amazing meals all around. I was extremely pleased with my Brisket Hash with poached eggs, hollandaise, and potatoes. My friends got Eggs Benedict and an Omelet and they both loved them. One of my favorite breakfasts I’ve ever had. Cannot wait to have it again!
Great diner, awesome waitresses, and really good sliders! also jenny's the best
Had the chicken Sammy today! It was amazing and the staff was incredible. Great work everyone!
I went to there this morning with my brother and friend. All I can say is the service and food was Awesome and we'll worth it!
Unique dining experience in a diner car built in 1946. The food is fantastic, the buttermilk pancakes are an absolute must! There are also other cool attractions in close proximity; a carousel, small children’s roller coaster, alpacas, a blacksmith, antique mall etc. There’s also a flea/antique market. Truly something for the whole family!
Okay it’s only four cause I like good coffee and that just isn’t a thing in the USA but I have to fault for it.
For the food. It’s always amazing. It’s big portions but you can’t ever say it wasn’t tasty. Food is delish. Like dammmmnnnn pictured is the loaded fries
Friendly staff and great breakfast items. Great atmosphere with an old-fashioned diner car.
Great local beer selection. Service was excellent as well. The burger and curly fries I had were excellent, though the salad my girlfriend had was mediocre at best. Service was excellent though.
Food was good in an old fashioned diner car built in 1946. Menu is mostly sandwiches, at least at lunch, so if you're looking for true diner food this might not be the place to go.
Good food, great service and such a cool place.
Funky diner, a short ride off I-89. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. Awesome pancakes. Perfect home fries, eggs and bacon. Smart, friendly server. I hope our travels take us this way again.
Stopped in for a late breakfast/early lunch. The corned beef hash was excellent. Also tried the tomato bisque and their version of an open face Reuben, which were also fresh and tasty. Service was very good.
This is the best diner I've ever been to and I'm from New Jersey. Don't believe some of the other negative reviews. I got the Korean Chic'wich. I thought it was going to be a club style sandwich, but it wasn't. Not the style of sandwich that I prefer, but still delicious.
Very good fresh food.
Service was great, they helped me with my disability problems.
Thanks for the breakfast sandwich.
This is my first time in Vermont
and I had trouble finding my way around in White River junction last night and this morning.
We had the gravy on fries and it was on of the best things I ever ate. Been twice with a party of 4 and everything has been delicious. Service is not lighting fast and I was long out of coffee before I got a refill, but we will keep coming back.
I was brought one of their Reuben sandwiches and found it to be delicious. So I had to go back with my wife and experience one fresh from the grill . Hands down the best Reuben sandwich we have ever had. Great service and great food! We highly recommend the Public House Dinner.
We arrived late but the staff was very helpful. We ordered our breakfast sandwiches to go as one person in our group had a small dog. The Portuguese muffins absolutely made the sandwich! So much tastier than an English muffin. The doughnuts they make are also delicious! We will definitely be back again.
Really good breakfast with blueberry pancakes and of course VT maple syrup. Retro dining area with lots of small shops near by. Service was kind of slow and our meals came out wrong, but they fixed it quickly.
