Everything was superb! We came in with a large group, no reservations and they accommodated us with haste even with a large lunch crowd. Our waiter was excellent and I noticed the other service staff were friendly and attentive to everyone. Our party had everything from pizza, pasta, sandwiches and salads didn't hear anything but complete satisfaction!

We have been eating at Piccola Italia since their opening week, back some 35 years ago, and we have never been disappointed! My wife's brother is a retired doctor, and he says he has never eaten better pizza than Frank's. We all tend to agree! We meet for Christmas at our older son''s house in SC. Our younger son and family travel over from Waynesville. Their request is always Frank's pizza for our Christmas dinner, so we take dough, sauce and sausage from Frank's... Thanks, Frank, for setting up shop in Raleigh - we sure do appreciate it...

Always as good as food can get. Italian specialties and the garlic pizza we had. Always the best since the 80's for me. Always great employed and owners too.

Completely out standing experience. Our server Doug made me feel like I've been coming for years. Really enjoyed the out door setting. Good selection of wines and food.

For my son’s rehearsal dinner , the ONLY food the bride and groom wanted was from your restaurant! So glad we got our food from y’all. The lasagna and penne with sauce were amazing! Everyone said the salads tasted great but were also so pleasing to the eye. The presentation was so pretty! I recommend everyone to go to this family -owned restaurant or get pans for take out for your next family get together or business meeting ! Many Thanks to Frank and his amazing team !

We've been on a quest for the last 3 years to find the most excellent pizza in the Triangle. Last night, Piccola Italia was stop number 12, and it just took over the top spot on our quest!! Crust, sauce and toppings were perfection! We loved every bite!!

This is my absolute favorite Italian restaurant in Raleigh! It's family-owned and as close to a piece of Italy as you can get! I recommend it to anyone who is looking for good quality food.

The food here is amazing especially the pizza. I've been coming here since I was in high school fast forward 20 years later and I am still getting my pizza to go, the owner and his family are the sweetest.

We enjoyed Piccola Italia for our anniversary. They start you with a bread plate served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I prefer it personally without BV, but it was still delicious. We chose Chicken Picatta and a Chicken Penne dish. I subbed my penne on the Picatta for angel hair. Every single bite of our meal was delicious. We chose tiramisu and cannolli for dessert, also absolutely amazing. The appetizer menu looked great, but we opted to save room for dessert. The location is great in Cameron Village with ample parking and the food has an authentic taste to it, rather than chain. Doug was our server and did a great job creating a warm atmosphere for us. The establishment has been around since the early 80s. You can tell they have put time and love into their business.

It was a warm Saturday evening, we wanted to try a new pizza spot and had never been here. Upon entry we noticed they had some memorabilia showing they have been around since the early 80s. They had plenty of seating inside and out. We were sat right away and were helped quickly. They have various pizza size options, but the personal is huge for 1 person. We started with a greek salad, which was good. Then for pizza ordered the vegetarian and pepperoni, we wanted 2 options to try, Both very good. While not the best pizza in Raleigh, I would def go back here.

The food and service were both fantastic! The location was also great, as was the ambiance of the restaurant. Their menu has a lot of great gluten free and vegetarian options to choose from as well. If you go during lunch, like we did, you'll hand to order a dinner sized portion of the pasta as your gluten free option. They typically have gluten free penne pasta, but today it was fusilli (which is actually my preference). I got my dish with the creamy basil pesto, mushrooms and broccoli. It was delicious! So much food that I could only eat about 1/4 of it, so I'll be enjoying leftovers. At night the also offer gluten free pizza crust for an upcharge. So I'll think I'll have to come back during dinner one night to try it. My only complaint is their online menu doesn't denote any of this. It just lists that most dishes can be made to accommodate gluten intolerance. So I had to call to ask for more in-depth information regarding what that meant. Other than that, it was a fabulous experience!

Had a going away party for a dear co worker here on a Wednesday night. We were graciously accommodated for a group of 10 with separate checks! Our waiter Daniel was the epitome of perfection, so attentive and kind. The food and wine were superb! I’ve eaten here with my spouse as well in a weekend. Highly recommend this great Italian restaurant and pizzeria!

Food is excellent. Gluten free options include pizza and pasta. The gluten free pizza I tried is amongst the best I have had. Sandwiches and other items were also amazing. Cappuccino was also good. Overall, a pleasant experience indeed and would visit again.

Piccola Italia has been a Raleigh establishment since 1982. I remember coming here since I was a little girl so I had to make this review longer than usual to do justice. It's authentic, traditional home-cooked Italian food at its best and the owner Frank, true to his Italian roots, always asks me about my parents and makes me feel welcome like family. I think a lot of people miss this place because it's not trying to be glitzy or glamorous, it's a comfortable family setting, but after 40 years in business the food still has that same special something - and my dad eats here every week! My favorites are the pizza and the pasta. The pizza is hand tossed with a crispy crust and homemade tomato sauce. The Tomato Sauce is the BEST in TOWN - smooth and rich in flavor (the Marinara is a more bold and chunky sauce if you're into that)! The pasta is delicious and always al dente - just be sure to ask for the parmesan if it's not on the table (gluten free pasta is also really good). Sicilian Pizza is Amazing - order ahead of time for that. Meatballs and sausage also delicious. Thank you Frank and to your family for the labor of love to keep this place alive through fires, recessions and remodels - for my family it's a home away from home - Authentic Italian at its Best.

Pictured is the Creamy Basil Pesto pasta bowl with penne and sliced Italian sausage. It was delectable along with the Eggplant Bruschetta. The service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend as a delicious quick bite or pizza before heading over to the comedy club.

My family LOVES Piccola Italia! Mr. Amata remembered that my parents always drove in for my birthday and has checked in about my Mom since my Daddy died. Genuinely great people. The food is AMAZING! My favorite Italian restaurant. (BEST french fries in Raleigh too.) Sometimes he brings us something extra to try that he's simmering on the stove fresh from his garden. You may also enjoy looking at the family photos that have been added in recent years...Mr. Amata selling ice cream from his bike at age 12 is precious. Can't say enough good things about them. Menu has been slightly changed but they will still make favorites from previous menu- like steak a la piazziola and the Amata special. Try Piccola Italia...in Cameron Village, Raleigh since 1982.

The lasagna and pasta fagioli soup and bread. It was honestly some of the best Italian I’ve ever had. That combined with a warm and well lit atmosphere made for a great meal. We will definitely return.

This is the best place for authentic Italian food. Natasha is the most beautiful and talented restaurateur. She always delivers fantastic service and food. The spaghetti and meatballs are to die for. The pizza is divine. The wine choices are fantastic. The desserts are heavenly. If I could I would give this restaurant 10 out of 5 stars.

Food is quite good, and the staff are friendly. They remodeled not long ago, and while I don't think the new look is as good it is definitely nice. I am most happy they got rid of the TVs recently, where they seemed to be leaning into a sports bar vibe or something.
