We are never disappointed when we go here! The service, food, and atmosphere are always great! My kids love the food which is a plus and always ask to go here when we go up to the Raleigh area. So Delicious! We got the nachos, shrimp fried rice, fajitas and cheese dip and their SALSA is my favorite it's the only one I'll eat! As long as they're open I'll continue to go.
Love this place, been here a few times & sit at the bar. Charlie is the best! Amazing customer service from everyone there honestly.
Food is really good, & the drinks are phenomenal! Very pretty & will definitely get you lit 😂.
Excellent Mexican food... Their Nachos and Tacos are excellent... So is the Texas Fajita... And an awesome array of beautiful looking cocktails... We were celebrating my wife's birthday and the team joined in to sing and perform and offer free shots of tequila... The decor is beautiful too... Wonderful experience!
I have been on the hunt for the perfect taco. Unfortunately, the tacos here were very disappointing. Not very flavorful at all. Also, it was a little overpriced. 14 dollars for 3 chicken tacos. The Margarita was a little better. The glass is huge, and a very nice presentation. I have been here a couple of times, and the fajitas are not bad, but I would avoid the tacos.

So I have been to San Jose Tacos y Tequila many times, and the food, service, and atmosphere are always on point. They are one of the priciest Spanish Latin/ Mexican food spots around, similar to Uncle Julios, which we also enjoy.
That being said, I didn't even go in to eat here as I called the manager prior to heading up and simply asked him if there was anyway for me to come pick up some of their "to die for" tortilla chips. I was planning on having a bunch of my friends over for some homemade nachos and wanted to make sure I had the best ingredients!
While I was there, I ended up helping some of the staff carry a couple of boxes of liquor to the bar and hold some doors for them, and they offered me my order for free!!!! A little help and kindness go a long way, folks!!! However, I made sure to pay and leave a nice tip even for my takeout order as I like supporting my local businesses and their families.
That said, I made a giant platter of hatch chile chicken nachos, with a little sazon infused rice, pintos, black beans, pickled onions, diced heirloom tomatoes, shredded mixed greens, pico de gallo, a mixed blend of Spanish/ Latin cheeses and melted queso, cilantro, pablano crema, as well as some ortega hot sauce!

Delicious food, generous portion sizes, good enough patio space, great selection of margaritas. Their prices are reasonable. I was also surprised to see plenty of vegetarian options on their menu. This can be your perfect next door Mexican restaurant.
I am lost for words… This right here was amazing !!! I ordered the Birria Tacos on door dash and San Jose, you did not disappoint!!!! I almost had to call the police, this should be a crime for food to taste this good 😂😂😂👌🏾 *meal also included rice, which was bomb! I will be ordering from here again soon!!

Good experience and great tasting food. The presentation was top tier. Just the right amount of food, not over the top, but just right. Wife love the creamy chipotle sauce over her plaza del mar.

It was so great that I found this delicious gem in my neighborhood! I walked by Sam and Jose's a couple of weeks ago and decided a couple of days ago to go for dinner.
When I arrived, I think they thought I was with Door Dash, so I was ignored for a few minutes and then finally greeted and taken to a table outside. I checked out the menu and then asked the server if the shrimp tacos came with beans. He had to check with someone and then told me yes. So, I got the and asked for black and refried beans. Everything came out looking and tasting delicious! I barely got a picture before I was digging in. The tacos had better flavor with each bite. The spice and a hint of sweetness were there without being too overpowering or salty. I literally could've eaten a few of these tacos but moved onto the refired beans that had the consistency of paste, but they were okay. The black beans were what really shined--thick, smooth, and not too lumpy. Also, it is full of flavor. I think the next time I would get all black beans as they were so good!
Minus one star for the lackluster service and non-impressive salsa. I think that the guy was a little overwhelmed. It wasn't super busy, but I just felt he was a little stressed. To me, the salsa could've had more flavor and spice. It tasted pretty boring.
Delicious Mexican food and huge portions! The salsa had just the right amount of spice. They are able to accommodate larger groups with ease. Highly recommend the chicken fajitas or the pork carnitas. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great ambiance. We were celebrating two birthdays and it really made their night to have the entire restaurant sing to them. I’ll be back soon for a giant margarita!
Got right in and had quick and attentive service from Charlie. LOVE the vast drink menu and margarita options. Our food was excellent! Will be back to try more on the menu as we had a hard time deciding!
San Jose is super good mexicain food! I personally love the Table side Guacamole and the San Jose Burrito (which is enough for two people) so I always have leftovers. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is good.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in town. Food and drinks were amazing the time I had went. Highly recommend it.
Can't believe I haven't rated San Jose yet. I have been going since 2015 for Cinco de Mayo so it's definitely become a tradition. The food is what I call fancy Mexican versus the normal tex-mex type menu. This time I got the San Jose Burito because I wanted something with chorizo. It was gigantic and very good. Enough for leftovers. The Pork Caritas is very good and would highly recommend here. They also make fresh guacamole at the table as spicy as you want. Love fresh guac! We have always had a great experience and excellent service. We will continue to frequent San Jose and recommend you try it as well.
Celebrated my birthday dinner at this restaurant. They offer generous servings at a decent price. Their Mexican cuisine is truly authentic. If you're a fan of Mexican food, it's definitely worth a visit. Don't miss their freshly prepared guacamole, which is a standout. The nachos and sauces were exceptional. I opted for quesadillas, and they were delicious.
Food was good the drinks were AMAZING(slightly expensive $16 , which you don't find out until you have your bill but one does the trick)... We sat at the bar .. and probably could have counted the number of other in the restaurant on 2 hands. Which I mention because our Waiter/ bartender seemed very inattentive.. none the less my company was good so it made for a good time
The shrimp tacos were the best I've ever had! The chicken tacos are amazing. But the real winner was the Birria tacos with the dipping soup!!! Our server was so nice and helpful with helping us choose the perfect dishes. I would recommend this restaurant.
