Fun dive bar with all walks of life hanging out. Nice selection of alcohol for drinks. Friendly fun staff! Dont wear your best outfits as, unfortunately, some of the local frat guys get a little sloppy. Last visit more than 3 drinks were dumped on me and a friend. (Hint, tighten up guys, offer a drink to those ya covered in yours and let's all just hang out and have fun. Stuff happens but be aware and polite about it)
JB is the best bartender. Cheap and tasty drinks, good music, friendly patrons, and free hotdogs. What more do you need?
This is a great place. Very inexpensive and great crowd. Everyone was friendly and the customer service was the best!
Good for 25-45, but becomes fraternity/sorority row about midnight. Hella wait at the door for college kids to get carded. When not college filled, great adult bar and bartenders.
If you love a super dive bar... don't sleep on The Goat! JB is awesome!

Some of my best memories are hanging out here with friends. $1 mystery beer night and being able to cut loose and dance the night away was always such a pleasure. Bartenders always nice and fast too. Best dive bar I've ever been to and an NC State/Raleigh gem to be sure.
If you're missing the dive-bar vibes with a welcoming embrace to new-comers, look no further. The patrons seem tight-knit but will be your fast-friend, the Bartender is efficient and friendly, the bar is clean (bathrooms superb) but doesn't have that hospital-disinfected feeling of many establishments in the area. All in all worth a visit, it may just be your next go-to spot.

Such a cool place. Wide mixture of people. From old to young. Couple of booths but mostly a long bar and stools. They do have outdoor tables set up with a big tent to protect you from the rain and sun.
My friends and I came out to celebrate my birthday and our bartender Amanda is wonderful. She's super sweet and makes amazing drinks. Will definitely come back to see her!!
Seriously! I was in town for one night and Googled the local spots. I hit gold with The GOAT. Great place. Marcus and the owner were great! *Pay for the Jordan shot and learn something. 😂😂😂
Me and the boys visited Raleigh for a Hurricanes game. This bar was walking distance from our airbnb. What an absolute diamond in the rough this place is. We went for a few beers before the game and Doug our bartender was extremely hospitable. We loved this place so much that we came back later that night and Doug started lining up beers for us the minute we walked in. This place is amazing, do not pass it up!
And don't miss out on the FREE hot dogs!

Buddy invited me out for a drink, and picked this bar, and wow I was impressed. Definition of a GOOD dive bar. Great liquor selection and decor. Doug was behind the bar handling business, while also making sure everyone was having a great time with good Convo and quick service. Once it got later the bar became packed, and Doug STILL was handling business! They also have free hot dogs which were surprisingly good, but with free, it's easy to beat expectations lol

I haven’t been to the goat since college and Max made it easy to step into a time warp and be 22 again. I love his energy and his ability to produce amazing drinks. You’re so lucky to have him as a bartender!
The night they that I arrived in North Carolina, this was the first bar the I attended with my best friend Kathleen. I've loved it ever since then. Great people great atmosphere this will always be my to-go bar. ☺️
