It's a pretty large restaurant, we came by for dinner right after work so it was super quiet.
Pros:
The rolls were decent, they were well made and tasted fresh. Prices were decent, ranging from $5 for simple rolls to about $16 for a few complex rolls but many priced at $9.
Cons:
Our server seemed distracted and either unhappy or unfriendly, despite only having maybe 3 tables total in the entire restaurant. They may have been under staffed so I dont want to hold that against them since the food wasn't terrible.
One of my rolls, the Futomaki is made a little different than what I've had in the past, but it was alright. The thicker crunchy carrot threw me off.
Overall it's not a bad deal and maybe we went during a bad time. Give them a shot, and hopefully you'll have good results, they seem to have good lunch deals too.
This place has an older more traditional Asian restaurant setup but the food here is great! I loved the Sashimi, it's very fresh. The Salmon Sashimi was amazing, you can taste all the oils of the fish so well, I loved it! The Kings Roll has a lot in it, I enjoyed it, it is very good, but there isn't anything in particular that stood out or a "kick" in this roll as I'm used to with loaded rolls like this one.
Taiko Sushi, Rancho’s secret! Their Miso soup was delicious! I also tried the Crystal Shrimp roll; crunchy shrimp, cream cheese, spicy crab salad and topped with avocado, sweet sauce, spicy mayo 😋 I can’t wait to go back!
Delicious. I would leave it at that but I guess I will add more. First, I like that there is no break in service (some close for a couple/few hours in between lunch and dinner). I arrived before the dinner rush and there were only a handful of diners. I decided to sit at the sushi bar and was quite prepared to eat since I only had vegetable soup at lunch. Their happy hour is $2 off their rolls from the "Chef's Special Rolls" and "Specialty Rolls" on their menu. I generally eat two rolls since often they are not large. I ordered a beer and waited excitedly for the rolls I ordered - Rakuso (spicy tuna, cucumber topped with unagi and masago) and Samurai (spicy salmon, spicy tuny, avocado topped with fresh salmon & masago). The sushi chef asked if I wanted one at a time and I said whatever is easiest for him.
Since there were not many patrons, the rolls appeared quickly. Holy hannah. There was a lot. He later explained that he had asked if I wanted one at a time in the event I got full after one. Good to know for next time. I was not going to let these delicious looking rolls go to waste. I had a take a short pause during my consumption, but I made them all fit in my belly. They were wonderful - I was quite satisfied and so happy I tried this sushi spot. The chef was nice and I chatted with him for a bit. Next time - one glass of beer and one roll.
If in the area (or even if not), try them - you will not be disappointed.
Came here for the first time, place is huge... husband and I were immediately seated (came in before dinner time)... server was polite, nice and attentive... husband ordered the 13 pcs super deluxe sashimi combo and Zenbu Roll... I ordered seaweed salad and the King's Roll... husband enjoyed his fresh squeezed IPA... all were great, just a little bit disappointed with my seaweed salad because there was only about 25% of the seaweed on my bowl and the rest is the shredded white radish (which was refreshing)... I appreciate the complimentary miso soup though... would be coming back next time... I recommend this place.
Fresh, tasty sushi and sashimi. Friendly waitstaff, makes for a pleasant dining experience
