Authentic Mexican Cuisine!!. I have driven by this place so many times. It seems to always be packed.
In the area yesterday afternoon, I decided this would be the time to check it out.
I walk in to find this family owned restaurant filled with lovely and fun mexican decor. I asked for a menu and was told I could take it to my car and look it over if I wanted to. This was no small menu. I was a bit skeptical. Could all of the patrons that fill this place nightly be wrong???
Here is the thing: Large menus make me nervous. Why? Because, nobody does it all well or so that had been my belief system. I ordered the Chalupa meal with re-fried beans and rice. I also like variety so I ordered three different soft shell tacos. One true tell for me with good Mexican cuisine is the guacamole. Is it made on site? Is it fresh? Time would tell.
I waited for about fifteen minutes. I didn't know what to expect but I really had an open mind. I had waited for a long time to try the food here.
It was handed to me in a box and everything was neatly wrapped. So I drove home with the anticipation of a having good meal.
Here's the deal: I have been to Mexico several time and really had missed authentic Mexican foods. So I opened my wrapped goodies to find huge tacos and other mouth watering food.
The food was incredible. One word kept coming into my head, fresh!!
It was authentic mexican cooking at its very finest. True test? The guacamole was heavenly. So delicate and packed with flavor. It was easy to taste that it was super fresh and delicious. I smeared it inside the tacos which were filled with equally fresh ingredients.
The corn chips that were made there and the salsa was amazing. The experience was refreshing and it didn't disappoint.
I look forward to my next trip which will be soon. I recommend this to anyone that likes true authentic Mexican cuisine.
A fantastic Mexican restaurant. Has a very authentic feel. The food and service is excellent. And don't go without having a margarita. Yum!
Fiesta Mexicana hosted a wedding celebration for 75+ guests. I have nothing but rave reviews to give. The food was delicious, excellent service and the atmosphere fun and festive! The owners Tranquilino and Sarah were a joy to work with and came up with ideas to further enhance the experience. They care about their customers and it shows! Thank you for providing a truly memorable dinner!!
What can I say but WOW! first off, they give you your food super quickly compared to other restaurants. It usually takes between 5 and 15ish minutes to get your food. Also, a huge menu filled with amazing culturally rich food with pure ingredients. The workers are also very nice, and if you have any questions, they will answer them. There is music playing, and decorations hung up. If you're going to eat Mexican for any meal, do yourself a favor and come here. You won't regret it.
We ate here for the first time, while in town for the casino. Friendly and attentive staff. Great food at great prices. Some of the best sala I've ever had. Will definitely visit again in the future.
Very nice place. I had the burrito Colorado. Very tasty shredded beef.
Don't order until you are hungry because the food comes out fast.
Also a full bar.
Five stars across the board! Fantastic quality food, generous portions, healthy menu, delicious dessert! And did you know they are relatives with Mariachi Loco in River Falls? Red Wing location is busy, and the parking lot will show it, but the seating is spacious and available. Don’t miss this amazing Mexican cuisine in Red Wing!
Living on the south end of the Twin Cities, we’ve long driven into Minneapolis or St. Paul for good Mexican food. Sadly, several of those locations have closed. We’ve joined friends who live near Stillwater and Hastings for Mexican dinners out but were unaware of this option in Red Wing.
When looking for lunch while visiting Red Wing, it was a pleasure to discover this place to enjoy good Mexican food. They have a robust menu with healthy and generous portions. Since it was Cinco de Mayo day, we tried their margaritas. They were refreshing and fit for the day. The restaurant was busy, but we still found space in the parking lot. For as many tables as our server was responsible for, she did a remarkable job of keeping up with everything, was friendly and helpful with explaining the menu.
We were pleasantly surprised by the spacious seating available. The booths are roomy and offer privacy from other guests. For families kids have good choices and have no reason to leave hungry. The prices are reasonable.
While I say it was Americanized Mexican food, the staff seemed to be genuinely Mexican and well trained. The guacamole is fresh. You can get the salsa with more spice, we also ordered extra. It’s nice that you can select your preferred fajita or taco shell. I like the hard corn tacos with fish, fresh onions and green/red peppers.
We enjoyed the Hispanic music (it was a tad load for conversations) playing in the background. Nice atmosphere with a true feel of being south of the border. Another nice thing, they deliver! So we send a gift card to my physician at the nearby Mayo Clinic Health Systems.
Food is very good. Server seemed very put out or annoyed with things kids wanted or asked for. If you are a severe attitude goes a long way. Otherwise a great place to eat
