Donato has a nice atmosphere and pretty space. The food is always good - my favorite is the pork belly risotto. The pork belly is crispy and fatty with tender meat, balancing the more bitter risotto with parmesan and cabbage. Their salads are always fresh and they have a good wine selection. Their appetizers are tasty and feature plenty of summer vegetables. I recommend the heirloom tomato salad. They also have excellent coffee! If you like coffee with dessert absolutely give it a try. I wish they had a coffee to go counter because I like their coffee better than Coffeebar and as well as Philz. I recently visited for my birthday and we had a pleasant experience, though service was slow and not the most professional (they forgot a drink order, serving spoons, and the waiter would just run past and shout to check in on us, disrupting conversation). Dinner appetizers through dessert took around three hours because service was so slow. There is a cake cutting fee of $3 per person.

Staff were very friendly and attentive, venue is alright. I thought the wine selection was average and I ordered the braised lamb which was not that tasty. It tasted more like oxtail than lamb and not good oxtail.

I had high expectations, and probably that's why I was a bit disappointed. Things were all tasting good but nothing was special or memorable. I had ravioli with butter And salvia, merluzzo and a chocolate dessert.

Good service, and the Ravioli Bergamaschi Scarpinocc was delicious. A traditional bergamo ravioli of wild greens and “taleggio vero”, sunchokes and brown butter sauce with crispy sunchokes.

Good, authentic, interesting Italian food. Rather good wine list, even by the glass. Service is sometimes a little slow - more outside than in, I think. A couple of the outside tables are a little windy.
