We went for a party of 11 and the restaurant was prepared for our gathering (there was a reservation made well in advance). The food was absolutely worth the price and the limited menu gives chefs the ability to focus on quality ingredients and easily changing the menu. The staff were excellent and helpful in every way. The kitchen definitely did a great job keeping up with 11 orders, my dairy restriction, and a friend's nut allergy. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for something different and high quality.

Really enjoyed our visit! I always love a snack section on a menu and all of the dishes were well done. Will be back!

Excellent meal. The tuna sashimi appetizer was quite special. A wonderful mix of flavors and textures - tart, smoky, salty with a bit of crunch. Perfect for a warm summer day. Sichuan duck was perfectly cooked. Very ginger forward, which I liked. Tasty Sichuan sauce. Liked the veggie accompaniments. Homemade ‘ice cream sandwich’ was outstanding. I mean like James Beard winning / 2 Michelin star awesome. A somewhat eclectic mix of orange, pistachio and sweet cream flavors that just harmonized and worked. I could eat this every night. My cocktail was outstanding. Loved the selection of whiskeys and bourbons. Friendly and attentive service. Excellent bang for the buck - important in today’s inflationary environment. Highly recommended!

Took a party of six there last night- loved it! We shared the pimento croquettes, brussel sprouts and smoked fish apps 10/10- and the szechuan duck, Scottish salmon and braised short rib pasta for dinner- all incredibly delicious including beautiful presentation and cooked perfectly. Oh and the desserts! Get the candy bar, just do it. The drink menu is generous and creative. Beware of the giant rectangular ice in the old fashions, they will bonk you in the nose but delicious nonetheless. Our server Eli was charming, knowledgeable and all around a delight. It was a very welcoming atmosphere and the folks working there seemed to enjoy what they do. It was nice and quiet for our early dinner and bumping by the time we headed out.

Everything was delicious! We had a few appetizers, and I had the pork chop entree which was very tasty. We also had some really good drinks. The service was excellent as well. Great restaurant and experience!

Pre set menu still with plenty of choices. All of the courses were delicious and very generous in sizes. In retrospect could’ve gone without the fried green tomatoes, still tasty but a little too much breading for my taste. My favorite was the Tuna Tartar and Mallard Duck.

Outstanding! Awesome cocktails, curated by the bar manager, and the food was so good! Gotta get a reservation, but if you have a small party there is a good chance that you can get bar seating. Currently doing a prix fix menu. The black garlic pasta was amazing, and for desert get the candy bar.

I had been wanting to try Heritage for a while. I finally went with a friend for softshell crabs back in early summer and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Then came with my foodie cousin when he visited me in July. Once again everything was terrific. Because of my good experiences I held my birthday dinner here a few weeks ago. Party of ten. Reserved about a month in advance. Consulted with staff week of the party to know what would be on the menu. Pre-ordered a variety of starters for the table to share since appetizer discussion and decisions always seems to be a hang up. Then guests picked their entrees and desserts. All the food was great as well as the service. Everyone left happy and are still commenting about the great evening. I will definitely be dining here again and recommending it to others.

The booth by the door, next to the front windows are a tight fit. They have maximized their space with tables and seating for guest. So if it's a full house it will feel like a full house. This placed seems to be very popular. You are treated like a VIP once you step inside. Our server was excellent. She knew the entire menu & drinks menu. The drink she suggested was delicious. In fact I had 2 of them🍹 Loved the specialty names for their signature drinks. The food was great. The portions filled me up. Very very nice place for an evening with friends or family. Staff seem to work well together. It was all smiles from everyone. Totally enjoyed my visit and would recommend stopping in.

Heritage is a great place to stop at for amazing eats and libations. The staff are all talented from the kitchen to the bar. The food has always been cooked to perfection and plated well, almost so well that I didn't want to disrupt it. I love the formation and color schemes of the dishes as well as the atmosphere of the restaurant. The servers are very personable/knowledgeable and will do their best on your every visit to make sure that you are well taken care of and happy. We have been a handful of times, either sitting at the bar or at various tables. Every time that we indulged at a table we were WELL taken care of by the awesome server Stephanie. She is quick, never forgotten or mixed up an order and very informative. At the bar we have had a mix of tenders'...Matt, Bridget, and the bar manager Lindsey. The mixology is strong with this crew. Thank you for multiple stellar experiences Heritage!!

Heritage Restaurant is a very nice, stylish, New American restaurant on Richmond’s Main Street. It’s very crowded on Saturdays, so either have a reservation or be willing to wait an hour for walk-in seating - that’s what we did. There’s plenty to do to keep yourself occupied on Main St for an hour. Cocktails seem to be a big thing here. I almost got one, but chose an Oxbow “Surfer Rossa” blood orange farmhouse ale at the last minute. My partner had the Cosmic Answer and liked it quite a bit. No wine, since we’d already had drinks before dining, but there was a decent list. There aren’t too many vegetarian dishes listed on the menu, but the chef is willing to make some changes. We started with fried broccoli and a local mixed greens salad. The salad was good. Nothing spectacular - there’s only so much you can do with mixed greens - but still satisfying. The fried broccoli, on the other hand, was spectacular. My partner, who HATES broccoli, loved it. The broccoli is fried very lightly, with a bit of char but no batter or anything like that. The broccoli itself is soft, without the normal crunch you get from broccoli, but the frying gives it a little crunch on the outside. Very good! This was probably the best dish. For main courses, we got the burger and the housemade kale gemelli pasta. I was surprised to see a burger on the menu, but it’s a big draw, and optionally made with an Impossible Burger. They can even make it fully vegan, with vegan cheese and a different bun, but we like real cheddar cheese and brioche buns, so we had it with those. It’s a very good, and big, burger, with lots of fries. The only possible complaint is that it was too big and filling! The pasta was pretty interesting, with a lot of different ingredients, on par with but not better than the better DC pasta joints. To wrap things up, we had a very rich “chocolate bar” with Nutella ice cream. I don’t usually like desserts that sweet, but I really enjoyed this. I was pretty full by then, though. The service was really good all around, from the seating to the waitress. We followed her recommendations on the broccoli among other things, and she didn’t steer us wrong.

We are a party of 3 travellers from Sydney Australia who eat out frequently. We dined at The Heritage on Thursday 13 July 2023. The food was FABULOUS, the service equally so! The chef, Joe was extremely generous to us and brought us dishes to try. In summary, American hospitality and generosity at its finest. GO-Try this wonderful restaurant!

Food was phenomenal. It’s very close to 5 star food no question. Cocktails were 5 star as well. Phenomenal duck breast. Perfect tuna tartare. Great desserts. Why I’m only going 4 stars though. Reservation was for 6:15, actual seating was 6:45. The dessert course got lost and ended up about 30 minutes between main and dessert. And lastly tuna steak was cooked medium well. It was still super tasty, but that’s too much for tuna.

Overall, the food and service at the table was exceptional. However, we had a reservation at noon, and although the hostess looked at us twice, she said nothing until 5 after noon, at which point we had been there for more than 10 minutes. I will return, but greetings at the door is a first impression.

One of our favorite restaurants. Love the cocktails. I have always been blown away by the appetizers and entrees but the desserts this time were to die for. Oh and the staff is great

Food is still fantastic, but I much preferred the experience before they moved to the prix fixe model. I would love to be able to go there and not be required to pay for an appetizer or dessert, but unless you sit at the bar (which I do like to do) you have to get all three. Again, the food is top notch and the service is excellent, I just preferred it when it was a la carte.
