This place is the best. Mexican that has lots of flavor, high quality dishes and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The margaritas are top notch and meals are very affordable too. I can keep going on and on but I'll stop my review:)
It's the best Mexican in all of Richmond. I won't go anywhere else. No other place even compares (especially chain Mexican places with dry food). I want to marry into this family. When I die I want them to wrap my ashes in a burrito. My Pepe's love is real.
Can't say enough good things about this place. We come from Powhatan at least once a year for my Cinco de Mayo birthday and the food is phenomenal and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I have never been here without seeing a couple staff members hug customers and everyone is so genuine it makes it feel like home. Best restaurant ever.
This was so good! Buy a drink and get $1 tacos � (soft or hard) or quesadillas!! This place is cool inside and the staff is super friendly!
Best Mexican Food in Richmond! Kind and quick staff, the best fish tacos I've ever had and a great atmosphere. I keep coming back for more! The "White Gold" Salsa is incredible!!

Best Mexican hands down. This is true cuisine and not your standard beef taco. The staff and owner are beyond amazing. Even in the craziness of cinco de mayo, they still came over to say hi and hug the kids. Huge portions!

There is no better Mexican restaurant in Midlothian... possibly in the world! The food is great, and the service is second to none. The entire staff treats you like family, and after years of coming here that hasn't changed. They live up to their first impression every day of the week. Love this place!

Good food, awesome service. While on a soccer tournament my son and I stopped at this place for dinner based on reviews and we were not disappointed. The service, as other people have mentioned, was really good, waiters were attentive all the time and food was served quick and fresh. We got the Carne Asada and the Texas Fajitas. The portions were big and tasty but I would cut down a bit the oil on the fajitas. Carne Asada flavor was pretty good but not the best I have had. My only negative is on the price of the Margaritas, while the Spicy Margarita was flavorful it was almost at the same price as one of the entrees. Overall a good experience.
I ate here on 10/28/23 visiting from out of town and I have to say the food was awesome.... I have a few things that I can say about this place... The food is awesome, the service was outstanding, and the reaturaunt was clean. I asked my waiter Kevin what he recommended, and he quickly said the Gypsy quesadilla. Without questioning his pick, I told him that's what I wanted. Needless to say, I was really impressed and can say hands down that was the best quesadilla that I've ever had north of the border. Kevin your awesome for that!
Don't be afraid to try this place, it's a little hole in a wall tucked away in a little shopping center, but when I head back to Richmond, I plan on visiting again.
We are from out of town and always stop here when we’re close. It’s a little small inside but the food is awesome!!! We get the burrito deal mar. I get chicken instead of shrimp. $15 and good size
Pepe’s is delightful. We stopped by for a late dinner (8:30) and everything was fresh and delicious.
We had bean and cheese nachos and arroz con pollo. Everything was prepared properly and the seasoning was on point. Portions were generous as were the chips and white sauce.
Service was very quick despite being busy. Definitely coming back!
One of my favorite places. I have been dining here for over 7 years. Their food has always been delicious and fresh. The service is always great, and all of the staff makes you feel right at home. Highly recommend!
Solid lunch spot, prompt and friendly service, chips and dip are excellent. Ordering process is straightforward and the food does not take long to come out. Water and chip refills are frequent. Lunch specials are a good deal. Lobby looks cool, decor and cleanliness on point. Great overall experience, highly recommended.
This review is based on four visits over 6 months. Very enthusiastic and solid service. There is an enchilada which was kind of deconstructed with a bunch of pork and goodies on top instead of inside. It was delicious, one of the 5 best Mexican dishes I’ve ever had. The Chesterfield burrito is huge and good. All the grilled dishes are high quality. Outdoor sunset seating can be a bit hard on the eyeballs. Kids always totally happy.

Enjoyed the time we shared. My wife and I went on a date. Heard from a friend that Pepe's was a good Mexican food restaurant. Decided on giving a try. Tried the special three Birria Tacos. My wife went with the #8 beef enchilada, tamale beans and rice. Highlight Of the dinner came when I asked if they had any thing hotter in there selection of hot sauce. Yes they did. Not to mention the food was great 😊👍
In Virginia for the weekend and of course I Googled where to eat near me. I like to eat at local “ good” spots and Pepe’s popped up. I’m so happy we went. Plenty of parking with the option of eating indoors or out at the inclosed patio. It was clean and had a cool local vibe. We were seated promptly and the menu had some great options. The food came out in big portions and came out quickly. The food was delicious and enough to share. I definitely recommend this place. Two adults and three kids left very satisfied.
Love Pepe‘s! One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. Service is top notch, food is always piping hot and delicious 😋 and the Salsa is one of my favorites. The atmosphere is great, too!
We just got back from one of the „new“ Mexican restaurants in the area and it was a disaster on all levels (no plans to ever go back).
Never left a review for Pepe’s but after this experience, I said to myself, give credit where credit is due. Keep up the great work, Pepe‘s!
Before this visit I had never been here before and did not know about Margarita Wednesday's. This alone is worth the 5-star rating. When you add in the quick service and delicious food it became a no brainer. Definitely worth a visit anytime, but especially Wednesday evening for Happy Hour.
Among Mexican restaurants Pepe’s stands above the competition. Everything here is familiar, chips with salsa, standard Tex-mex fare, some local specials. By that measure they are like everyone else. What sets them apart is the quality of the food and the excellent service. The chips are always fresh, and the specials are excellent, especially The Chesterfield and Burrito Del Mar. This is comfort food served in a comfortable setting, but don’t come here looking for much in way of ambiance. Come for the food and leave happy.
My coworker & I chose Pepe’s for Cinco De Mayo festivities. When we arrived the wait was approximately 25 min, however the weather was nice and the band outside distracted us from the wait.
Once we got seated, we were greeted immediately with our waitress offering suggestions on margaritas! The chips and salsa was neeeeded and very much appreciated! We ordered the FRESHEST margarita I’ve ever tasted. I vaguely tasted sour mix, which was a huge plus for me.
We ordered our meals & literally 5 min later our food came. Food presentation was mouthwatering. Our meals were hot and very delectable. The authenticity of the food was flavorful!
I would highly recommend for cinco de mayo, date night, and all other events. Speedy service & customer service seems to be a top priority!
Great spot for lunch! They have A taco special on Monday’s. There is plenty of parking. Pepes also offers a loyal customer program. I think it’s like buy 10 lunches get 1 free. I’m looking forward to coming back next time I am in Richmond!

Definitely Americanized but overall a pretty good Mexican restaurant. Lunch was reasonably priced and service was good and responsive. The chips and salsa were not to my taste, chips were too hard and salsa was too thin and watery
