I cannot give this restaurant a high enough rating! I come here almost once a week because the food and service are some of the best in Richmond. Everything I've tried on the menu is absolutely delicious, and the staff is always very friendly. The owner always comes around to personally thank each table for coming and ask how you're enjoying your food, and that same level of commitment to customer service can be seen in all the staff. The high number of regulars (myself included) that I see walk in who are greeted like old friends by the waitstaff speaks for itself!
A friendly place to enjoy the best Vietnamese food in town. The menu includes many vegan and vegetarian options. My personal favorite: Vegetable Pho with Tofu.
My Pho was a bowl of Won-D-erful goodness. 8 hours prep time with the fat constantly trimmed. I know, you're wondering how I know this? The owner spent 15mins sharing his passion food and people with me. He was a chef at a UN Refugee Camp. Over 20yrs in serving good food. It shows. I'm coming back.
Quick services. This was my first time dining here. The food waste delicious. The staff was amazed by the device I used to pay for my meal. I will be going back to dine.
We love the food and the staff! It is always worth the 30 minute drive from our house to Pho 1 Grill. You always feel welcome and the customer service is fantastic!!
This little place is one of my all time favorites! I recently moved away and each time I travel back I make it a priority to eat here. Ellen and Paul are so sweet, making everyone feel welcome and remembering your favorite menu items. Excellent fresh food! P4 is my favorite soup! Basil chicken is my other favorite! Miss you guys! Come open a new place in Charlottesville!

Great Pho. I mean delicious. The owner came out and said hello. We talked a bit, he told me he has had a restaurant in the Richmond area for over 20 years, 5 in this location. I watched people come and go for takeout the hour I was there. My family and I will definitely go back.
Always wonderful! I always get the steamed vegetable dumplings. My husband loves the pho! Peter had told me he'd never actually tried his dish (R7 tofu and asparagus) so this time I ordered it. You were out of asparagus so I replaced it with broccoli and I think it's the best vegetarian dish you have! My new favorite for sure!
Outstanding! Great noodles, the fish sauce is delicious. Friendly staff and nice environment.

Paul is the best! By far the best pho I have ever had and the whole group of people who works there knows me by name, my order, and how I like my bubble tea! Great place to eat.
Amazingly fresh tasting food and friendly staff! "Spicy" is super mild so you will have to ask if you want a kick. I have yet to have a dish there that I haven't liked.
"Souper" Pho. If you like a large bowl of noodles, you will like Pho 1 Grill. I liked the Pho Ga soup and the Teriyaki Chicken. Large bowls of noodle soup and our drinks were quickly refiled. zI didn't like them removing a dish from my table as I took my last bite. Their effeciency in removing our used plates was too efficient. The food was very tasty. Great service, clean restaurant, and great tasting food.
We are usually a big fan of another Vietnamese restaurant in town, but we decided to try this one since it's 2 minutes from home. We were pleasantly surprise with how good it is! It's a little pricey, but totally worth. I think they'd benefit from a lunch menu. We had the vermicelli and it was very authentic. We will definitely return!
Customer is #1. The Pho isn't outstanding, but the rest of the menu covers the basics very well and offers a few signature dishes. What really sets this place apart is the owners and their staff. This is the friendliest, most customer oriented restaurant in town.
Somewhat ironically, the Pho was our least favorite dish: they do everything else so well. One of the best appetizer platters I've ever had at an Asian restaurant.

Glad they are back!. You know you have a good meal when you're sad that you've finished eating. That's what we got today. We got takeout tonight-Steamed pork dumplings, Pho sate, and beef vermicelli noodles. It was superb. Everything was super fresh, cooked to perfection, with a perfect mix of sweet, sour, pungent, and spicy flavors. The veggies were crisp, the beef was tender, and the pho had a rich flavor.
I was so happy to hear that the closed House of Vietnam has come back in the form of the Pho 1 Grill. They do it right! Will be back for more :-)

Excellent!. Paul and Ellen know how to run a restaurant: great food and the BEST customer service around--they treat everyone like family. We could not wait to visit them at Pho 1 Grill, and it exceeded our expectations. The menu is expanded, the food and service are still excellent, and the atmosphere and decor are beautiful. All is right in my pho world again!

Food was amazing & service was spectacular! We loved everything we ordered, & all of it was very flavorful. They give you chopsticks & a fork, so if you can't properly use chopsticks (like me), you don't feel foolish asking for a fork. Also a nice selection of craft, imported & domestic beers. We had three different staff members check on us, which I thought was impressive. I'm very glad we stopped here to eat!
The Best!!! Beautiful place. The food is homemade and yummy. Even my 6 year old likes the soup. Ooo The Coffee too!!!! Love new experiences this one was a Great choice
I drove 20 minutes away to eat lunch here. I got the vermicelli bowl with pork and egg rolls. The pork was cooked perfectly and vegetables were crisp and fresh. Service is always quick and friendly. I find sauces to he different at every pho restaurant, and I like the way they are prepared here.
Ordered takeout and did not have to wait long at all. The food came out delicious, and the staff was very kind.
There is a reason they have 4.6 stars out of 5. Really good service. The food is outstanding. If something was wrong, I'm positive they would make it right. Love this place.
Wow- awesome Pho, amazing service, great place. This is true comfort, whether you are looking for authentic Pho with great variety or want I nice filling soup (after a night out 😉) this place is great! Oh and you also have to try the BBQ chicken (or steak) skewers they are 🔥
Best of the best, hands down. Everything is prepared fresh and tastes great. Awesome presentation and a nice group of people that will accommodate you anyway possible. I recommend eating and drinking everything on the menu at least once. The atmosphere and compassion of the owners is one of a kind. This place stays packed and if you visit Pho 1 Grill to eat you will know why. I have tried quite a few options on the menu and have never been let down. The food comes out quickly no matter how many people are eating within and always prepared fresh. They have a loaded bar, clean bathrooms and are always happy to see you. GO HERE NOW!!!

Phở 1 Grill is a place to go for authentic Vietnamese food. For starter, I ordered bánh xèo (yellow pancake), it is amazing! Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. I ordered my usual phở đặc biệt (combination #1) as always the broth was delicious! Highly recommended!
Tried it for the first time and everyone loved their dish. Good options and nice portion sizes. Would definitely visit again.
