The food was great! Flavors distinct and wonderful. I had the mushroom risotto, others had the orichette sausage and broccollini, spaghetti with huge meatball and tortellini. Everything was stellar. Highly recommend. It seems that the chef really cares about the quality and flavor of the food and it shows.

Wow !!! The real deal. Homemade ravioli is the best I’ve ever had. Reminded me of my trip to Italy but don’t think I had anything better there. Service great!!!! We drive an hour to get there and worth every minute.
The perfect Italian restaurant. Family owned and operated. Warm, welcoming, comfortable, and classy. Attentive and friendly staff that make you feel that they are not just serving you food and drink, but a dining experience. And food that will make you rethink what has passed as "authentic" for you in the past. I would not do it justice if I tried to describe it; just go and order something. You won't be disappointed. This place has heart and soul and it shines through the owners and staff. We live an hour away, but are already planning to go back and bring friends. Just go there.
If you love Italian food...especially Sicilian..this is the place you will really love! The staff is wonderful and helpful in suggestions for food and wine. I went with the salmon puttenesca the thought of which still makes my mouth water! But the real show is the spaghetti tossed in the flaming Parmesan wheel. I can't wait to go back for that one! I love supporting family owned restaurants. Perfect to bring your whole family. This will be a favorite go-to for me.
When I pulled into the shopping center, I had some doubts. Then I walked inside! From the greeting "Welcome to the family!" To the gorgeous decor, I already knew I had chosen well where to take Mom for Mothers Day. When the menu made my mouth water, then it was love before first bite! The presentation and the aroma of your food will please you long before you dive in. I drove 90 minutes to get there, and I plan to do it again. Family recipes, awe inspiring food, excellent service, great atmosphere and very reasonable price. Get the tiramisu!

The food, service, and ambiance are excellent in this restaurant. There are not enough adjectives to describe it. I have been all over Italy, and this little restaurant is so authentic in its’ food and wine selection. Delizioso!!
Excellent service and the food was delicious! From the greeting at the door, the waitress, to the chef stopping by the table ensuring we enjoyed our appetizer- everything was wonderful! We even ordered an additional entree to bring home. An absolute gem!
So great to find a local place that hits all the marks. Food and service were exceptional. Fresh and not over seasoned. Atmosphere, terrific. No loud music so we could talk. Plenty of gluten friendly options, salads, soups, seafood. I couldn't have enjoyed it more.
Today me and my family were looking for a good and family operated restaurant to have some good time , we ended up checking Casa Italiana out , and I don't even know how to describe the amazing , outstanding experience we had !!! The service is impeccable , the food is without a doubt the best we ever had around Richmond or any other place we visit ! Thank you for the incredible night chef Kristi Ritchey and Casa Italiana !! We would give you guys 1000 starts but unfortunately we just can go 5 !!! We will be back soon !

I had a wonderful experience having dinner by myself one chance evening, that I had to bring my family with me the next time I came. I don't usually have enough room for dessert, but truly, make room for the tiramisu! Thank you for your kind service and warming our bellies with your family recipes!
The best lobster ravioli on Earth! Grazie Casa Italiana.
Holy cow! THE best carbonara I have ever had (and I've had a LOT of carbonara!) Cannot wait to go back!
Wow! My wife and I visited here for dinner in November 2023 for the first time.
We had a great course style dinner including appetizers and dessert. On top of that they provide you with a hot bread starter and side salad with entrees.
They provide butter, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and chili oil as condiments to dip with your bread.
Food and service were both great. As for the entree quality nothing was too salty or too sweet.. just balanced really well.
Pictured are our appetizers, side salads, entrees and dessert.
Bruschetta (Classic)
Pumpkin ravioli (seasonal special)
Seafood risotto
Limoncello and mascarpone cake
I have been in Virginia since 4 months, moved from India. Having an Indian taste palette, I found the food very tasty. So far the best Italian food I had in 4 months. Loved the food. Would come back again with the family.
I found my new obsession! Hands down THE BEST Fettuccine Alfredo I have ever had in my life. Pasta was fresh, perfectly cooked, Alfredo sauce was absolutely magical! The flavor, the consistency, it's obvious that the best ingredients were used and it was cooked with precise intention. Service was also wonderful.
This is my new favorite lunch/dinner spot. Authentic Italian dishes freshly prepared, locally sourced ingredients, perfectly seasoned !!! The staff is knowledgeable about every aspect of the menu. Great atmosphere and perfectly prepared drinks at the bar. This was the total package. Bread and salads were the perfect compliment to our entrees. The shared LIMONCELLO CAKE finished out the meal! Extremely clean and professional environment.
This was our first visit to Casa Italiana and we were impressed. The service was outstanding. The staff aimed to please and were conscious of their guests being happy and satisfied. Bread was served warmed with butter and olive oil/balsamic dips. The pasta was delicious - we ordered the penne with meat sauce and the lobster ravioli . The Caesar salad was particularly good with just enough dressing while still allowing the lettuce to be crisp. We will definitely be back.
This was our first visit and it most certainly won’t be our last. They are definitely 5 star worthy but I will explain why they got 4 from our experience. Let’s start at the beginning with our appetizers. Calamari is always a must. I just love the little tentacles and they served a bunch of them. I was thrilled because most of the time, you only get a few but this was a generous portion with lots of little arms. The second appetizer was the grilled octopus. This is where they lost a few points because the $17 tentacle over white beans was pretty tiny. It was tender and nicely cooked so we didn’t complain. For the mains, I got the bone in veal Parmesan and hubs got braised beef ravioli with a meatball added. My goodness, the veal was super tasty. The red sauce was very balanced. The meatball, Mmmm Mmmm. His ravioli was very good but I liked mine better. Served with fresh, hot bread and a spring mix salad. We were very pleased and we look forward to our next visit. The service was friendly and the foods were presented at their appropriate times. Just an all around great experience.
I keep coming back!! It was great when I wrote this original review 6 years ago and it’s even better today. The people are wonderful and they truly know how to make amazing food! This is my favorite restaurant EVER, ANYWHERE!! Today’s visit included Roasted Tomato and Fennel soup, their homemade bread (you MUST try the roasted pepper infused olive oil!), and Pappardelle with Sausage Ragu. ALL were amazing as was the friendly and personal service provided by Paris! But then I’ve never ever had anything but a wonderful meal and wonderful service here. Please try it. I can’t imagine you won’t love and will plan to return.
2017…This is a great family with great values and they know how to do a restaurant! Linguini and white clam sauce is amazing! The meatballs are delicious! Chef Gaetano is just wonderful and his sister Kristi is a delight! Amazing all the way around!
Best Italian food in the area! Owners are friendly and welcoming. Warm bread and focaccia to pick on while you wait. I ordered the crab and spinach pasta to go which sold me on this place. The vodka sauce is perfect not to creamy. My husband and I went for dinner without a reservation, they were able to squeeze us in. Your better off making a reservation if you go during regular dinner hours. We ordered from the fresh seasonal menu. I can’t wait to try the other options!
Hands down the best Italian food I have found in Richmond. From the handmade bread to the handmade pasta. The Italian margaritas were perfect and the tiramisu by itself was worth stopping for. The staff was amazing, very attentive and helpful. The owner was the most engaged owner I have ever seen, both with guests and staff. Her recommendations were absolutely on point.
My wife and I order from here regularly through grub hub. It’s always so amazing. The food is the best and seems that it is cooked with good energy. Fresh and delicious. Always packed considerately.
The service and food was excellent. We had reservations so we were seated quickly and we're able to sit outside. The outdoor patio is pretty small so if you want to sit outside you might want to put that request in your reservation. As you can see in the photos the plating is done very well.
If I could give 10 stars I would! Let me just say this place is absolutely amazing! The food and hospitality is one of kind and consistent every visit! I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years! Just about all of the food served here is HOMEMADE! And every dish is served hot! Our go to appetizer is the Fried Mozzarella and our go to entrees are the Fettuccine Alfredo and Chicken Parmesan and for dessert I recommend the Limoncello Cake it’s light, sweet, yummy and refreshing! The portions are huge and worth every penny- we always leave with a to-go box. I heard about this place from one of close my friends and I decided to give it a try because she couldn’t stop talking about it! I decided to take my wife(gf at the time) here for our first anniversary and it quickly became our favorite Italian restaurant and our date night go to. We love this restaurant so much that the next year when we got married we had a celebratory dinner here. Today was our 1 year marriage anniversary and of course we came here. While sitting there we realized we have eaten dinner here for ALL OF OUR ANNIVERSARIES- if that doesn’t say something about this place idk what will. I’m not sure what has taken me so long to write this review but I am PCSing to Italy in a couple of weeks so I thought I’d write a review about this place before we leave. This restaurant has treated us so well and will be greatly missed but we will no doubt be back on our visits from Italy!
Great Italian restaurant, staff was friendly, helpful and very polite! Food they recommended was excellent, delicious and affordable! We will definitely visit them again soon! If you're looking for authentic and tasty Italian recipes give them a try.
Thanks again for the quality experience!
I didn't expect to give Casa Italiana a good review. The prices seemed high when looking online. But, oh, did my opinion change when I got my order, which was a grilled chicken caprice sandwich with a side salad. Both were enormous and delicious! I had enough of both to take home to share with my husband. I'll be back!
I had the egg Benedict with potatoes and they were absolutely fantastic. My wife had the blueberry French toast with blueberry thyme syrup and sausage. 10/10 on both she said she has never had anything like it before. Waiters are extremely friendly. Atmosphere is very clean and modern. Food came out in a timely fashion. Very satisfied and would return without a doubt.
I went here for lunch and was really impressed. Authentic Sicilian food, friendly staff, great atmosphere. I look forward to trying it for dinner soon.
