We stopped in twice in 1 week. The food was excellent and the prices were competitive with the non gluten free breakfast places, and The people were so nice and engaged with us the 1st time we stopped while we were traveling through we made it a point to stop back on our way home. I am recommending it to everyone including my non gluten free friends and family.

Great food, great people, great service! It is one of my new favorite breakfast spots in RVA! I would even recommend it to my non gluten free friends, as the food is that tasty! Whether to-go or eating there, I always look forward to my visits to 521.

Amazing waffles. I mean you'd be surprised they are completely gluten free. The bacon egg and cheese biscuit was yummy, but that waffle!!! Because it is exclusively gluten free you dont have the worry of cross contamination! BONUS. As for the staff: you guys were so kind, prompt, and helpful. I appreciate it!

Fantastic waffles and an amazing breakfast sandwich. I even had to admit to my husband that the GF biscuits are better than the ones he makes at home. I will be back many, many times.

Delicious!! Had the biscuits! Gluten free, dairy free, egg free biscuits! Perfect for a celiac who can't have eggs and dairy. Thank you!

I ordered breakfast and coffee to go because it was walking distance to my hotel, and I wasn't disappointed! The chocolate chip scone was delicious and I'm still thinking of it a day later. My fiance and I split the Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit Sandwich because it's pretty large. I loved the thick cut bacon that was perfectly crispy without being burnt! You could hear a crunch in every bite! The biscuit was also delicious and didn't fall apart. I didn't realize this was a gluten-free restaurant until I came here to review it, but that's an added bonus!

This restaurant is dedicated gluten free. The waffle was delicious, crispy, and fluffy. The biscuit breakfast sandwiches were huge. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The food is great in my opinion, I bought a bacon egg & cheese biscuit and a blueberry scone , the biscuit and scone were nice and soft inside and delicious. Next time I need to try the waffles.I’m very happy that everything is gluten-free. Issues: No parking although paid parking walking distance away. Not a lot of seating inside.

This is a must go to breakfast place. We enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice and I mean fresh. The waffles, eggs, and bacon breakfast was very good and the service was was on point. I asked if this was a franchise and it's not....I say not yet. I was told they opened last year and will continue to better the business. I think it's a hit. Go get some waffles and biscuits and enjoy what we enjoyed.

This place is incredible - the food is amazing and the service is friendly. Their chocolate chip scones are delectable. There was as much chocolate as there was scone - that's the kind of ratio I can get behind :) I grew up in the deep south, and 521's biscuits are the real deal - it's the only time I have been satisfied with a biscuit (flaky, buttery, soft and yet structurally sound enough to use in a breakfast sandwich) since I went gluten free. The waffles are delicious as well. Bonus - I shared my food with my boyfriend and he had no idea it was gluten free. If that's not the utmost seal of approval, I'm not sure what is. You've got to go and try EVERYTHING. You won't be disappointed.

On our vacation from Tennessee, we stopped in here the day after Thanksgiving and we were so happy to experience an Amazing gluten free breakfast!! The biscuits were done extremely well -good crumb, soft and delicate, but hold up well being used for a sandwich. They taste great as well as a biscuit by themselves! The waffle has great flavor along with their maple syrup which has a nice consistency and flavor as well. The bacon was cooked very, very well -not too crisp or too chewy! Always nice to have fresh squeezed orange juice! My daughter’s grilled cheese sandwich was also super good -the herbs in the bread paired with the cheese and made for a rememberable grilled cheese experience. The bread on the sandwich is like a focaccia. It is delicate and soft as well, but also holds up with no issues for a sandwich. The scones are also amazing for gluten free - we had the raspberry and white choc, then we were given a couple of other flavors on our way out. Gluten free scones can be significantly hard to make gluten free -this establishment makes them extremely well. They have the crisp outer side, soft inner, and hold up when dunking in coffee, and again the incredible flavor is also there! The drip coffee is also great! Great place to have breakfast - but you don’t have to be gluten free to love eating here! My daughter and I both have celiac, so there’s a need for us. Thanks 521 for giving us a great breakfast away from home! The individuals working here are professional and friendly!

"Everything we have is gluten-free." [Fist pump] "That was my reaction, too." This place is great! I don't know how they make the gluten-free biscuits, but they're remarkably good. Really nice coffee roast and fresh squeezed orange juice, too. Get the Beaut, with egg, bacon, cheese, avocado, and hot sauce on a biscuit. (We didn't try the waffles, but the biscuits inspire me with confidence.) As of Aug 2021, you have to order on your phone outside and eat at a sidewalk table or take away. Worth it.

So, seating is basically non existent at approximately brunch a clock. On a Sunday.. (whenever you think that is). There's a couple chairs and self seated but so cramped, you're better off taking as carry out. I got a regular Sasuage egg and cheese biscuit and original waffle and ended up taking to go to eat at home. Basic b*tch breakfast so, low expectations.. But,... Everything was way better than expected. When I walked in, the small staff behind the counter was SLAMMED. But I get why.. This biscuit is perfect texture, didnt crumble at all even through my journey home and microwaved. The Sasuage was red Sasuage which I wasn't expecting but was delicious the way it pair with the cheese and thier seasoned egg. The waffle, was basically funnel cake. I even put a bit of t of powdered sugar on it at home and truly, was a treat. All very good food. I'll definitely return. But again, take out!(unless going at a slow time)

Oh my goodness! Been years since I've had really good gluten-free biscuits. Brought both of my parents, who are not gf, and they raved about the food. Fresh squeezed orange juice, too. So good!!!

Crispy outside, Soft and fluffy inside well balanced tasty waffles, but sides aren’t great. Would love to see few more options in the menu. Newly opened thus quite clean restaurant, minimally decorated and vibe is good. Little pricey for the quantity they are serving. great service, usually takes time to get ur order.

A totally gluten free dedicated breakfast place— such a gem! I never find places like this! I just happened to find a former review that talked about it, because the google listing didn’t indicate anything about it. The biscuits were good, although my husbands came with only one tiny bite of avocado (which costs extra). I’d come here again, but would leave the avocado off.

Order ahead because it does take about 20 minutes to make the food and it is currently only take away, but it is worth the wait. For our gluten free family (celiac disease), it was a must stop in Richmond. Our daughter also has a dairy allergy so the vegan options were perfect for her.beat gf waffles we have ever had and better than any regular waffles I can remember. Highly recommend.

Food was good. Things that can make this place better would be a sign that says everything is gluten-free, because how else are we supposed to know except to ask the person we order from. Which, btw, was rude like she had answered the question a million times. I don’t always looks at the reviews before going to a place so I can have a biased opinion, but in this case I should have. Do yourself a favor and put up a nice big sign saying EVERYTHING IS GLUTEN-FREE.

This place is AMAZING! I had the Beaut and it was fantastic - my daughter's waffle with strawberries was incredible as well. The fresh squeezed orange juice was SO GOOD, and the scone we shared was great. Any time I'm in Richmond we will be returning - I'd leave six stars if I could!

Great place if you want a fabulous egg sandwich on a biscuit or a gourmet waffle. It was close to my hotel so we went there 3 times. Very friendly service staff and attentive. Side of bacon was perfect. I got The Beaut which was egg cheddar bacon avocado and hot sauce yum! Next day i had a waffle with chocolate chips and coconut flakes.

Amazing food! We ordered the waffle with eggs and bacon, and a biscuit sandwich. Both were delicious. You would never know that everything here is gluten free! Both those with Celiac disease/gluten sensitivity and those without any dietary restrictions will be happy here. We loved our meal.

Really nice people selling a giant cheesy biscuit. Wish there was more hot sauce but otherwise delicious. Thick bacon!

Interesting spot in that the name says it all: they serve biscuits and waffles. I got the Monkey-Do, which is a waffle with Nutella, bananas, and strawberries. The waffle was really light and very tasty. The fruit was fresh. My wife got a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. She liked it but added it wasn't as good as Whataburger! I also got a biscuit to try and it was sliced, which took away the fun of breaking it open and seeing the layers. It was still good, but a agree not as good as Whataburger. Overall, Biscuits and Waffles is a great place for breakfast.
