Extremely flavourful and smooth ice cream and ices! The coconut and lemon flavors were incredibly strong and left us wanting more. The staff were friendly and served us very quickly. Little to no eait.
Parking is available up front, order from the window and seating up front too. The signage could be more organized because there was so much to choose from, but that's never been a bad thing! Can't wait to be in town again and try more flavors!
I love all the options here! Homemade ice cream, Hersheys, gelato, soft serve, Italian ice and more! I got homemade coffee and vanilla brownie. My boyfriend really enjoyed his waffle cone. Very yummy ice cream!
The Great Escape Ice Cream Parlor is a wonderful place to get cool treats on those very hot summer days… or anytime you’re in the mood for great ice cream! They have so many flavors to choose from; anything from hard ice cream, to soft serve, gelato, sorbet, and vegan options, to some of their amazing homemade flavors! The staff are very friendly and the service is fantastic. The longevity of this place is a testament to how great it is!
Wow! Enjoyed the quick four minute walk from Watkins Glen State Park to this wonderful ice cream parlour. They had amazing homemade ice cream flavours, including cannoli cream and sweet corn (both delicious and cinnamon-y) and a huge variety of Hershey ice cream. They also had vegan /non dairy options (peanut butter soy was excellent), soft serve and gelato. So many options! There’s even a sample tray of 3 or 4 flavours if you can’t decide. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Great place for that afternoon snack. We loved it so much we went back the next day. The ice cream scoops are very generous. The help is extremely friendly.
Quaint vintage-style ice cream parlor with inside seating as well as a nice deck. They offer a wide range of vegan flavors and are very responsive to guests with food allergies. It's my favorite ice cream parlor in Watkins Glen.
Huge portions and well priced. Our kids had Superman waffle cones and even the “small” was huge. We also had a slushee with ice cream in it and it was great. Good service too!
Pretty good ice cream. I got Maple Walnut, and I thought it wasn’t that great, but I’ve been spoiled by local Maine ice cream shops so my standards are pretty high. Their cones are delectable tho!
Local ice cream shop with a friendly touch. Do you want an ice cream cake for that favorite person in your life? Know all their favorite flavors? Guess what, Great Escape will make it for you and it will look like a masterpiece in cakes. And of course, they have you cover for the pre-made ice cream delights, when you are in a hurry, or the fresh cones, sundaes, and shakes.
Best place for ice cream in the glen, they serve Hershey's ice cream. My oldest always gets their homemade ice team sandwiches. This is one of our must stop here when we come to the area.

The Great Escape is a great escape! Besides the fact that the place smells delicious, they also carry Hersheys ice cream and many of their own homemade flavors. Building your own sundae is fun. We were won over by the "extras," such as the chocolate covered key lime pie - to die for!
I went vegan a few months ago and have been pleased that The Great Escape carries a variety of soy- and oatmilk based ice creams on a regular basis as well.
Many, many hard ice cream, soft ice cream, gelato, slush puppies, sorbets flavors. Pretty much anything sweet and cold you could want. 24. Stuffy I've cream flavors come from few flavors and many flavorings worked in. Line went pretty quickly.
This little shop had the best vanilla soft serve I've had in my life. I swear there's a secret ingredient. If I could buy in a store nearby I would. Good stuff.
This is a super cute and friendly place in a really cute and scenic town. They had a ton of flavors (many homemade), including a few soy-based vegan options. We arrived 15 minutes before closing and took a while to order, but they were just as helpful and enthusiastic as if they had just opened -- and then we watched as they stayed open 30 minutes past closing for other customers.
They offered 7 Vegan homemade flavors that were soy based, coconut based, & sorbet.
I tried two in a cup. The coconut is more 'snow' like and fragile with chips.the soy based I tried is thicker, heavier, chocolate like fudge with almonds.
It was a splurge I made due to their outdoor sineage.
I didn't try a sorbet, looks good though.
GREAT dairy-free options!! I had 2 scoops: Mandarin orange and limoncello sorbet with strawberry sauce. Intense flavor. Delicious!!
They have homemade ice cream and gelato. The vanilla ice cream was excellent and so was mandarin orange gelato. Worth a visit.
This sweet (pun intended!) Ice cream parlor is ALWAYS on our list of "places to visit" when my girlfriends and I visit Watkins Glen for our annual wine tour. I was thrilled when I ordered a novelty ice cream (similar to a Dairy Queen Buster Bar) and was told they were on sale 2-4-1!
Their prices are VERY reasonable, and the product is delicious! They also offer a grape pie (which I haven't ordered yet, there's always next year!)
There are tables to sit at outside, and it's only steps to the entrance of the Watkins Glen State Park. Allow yourself a treat after you go for your hike, you deserve it!
