This was pretty good and you were served generous portions if food. I would have liked a bit more flavor in some of the foods but overall it was good. My only complaint was that the potato salad was sour tasting. I was good with the rest of the food but could have done without the potato salad. But this place is worth a try and if nothing else the portions will fill you up.
I had been craving some soul food for awhile and wanted to try someplace new. I had a wonderful experience, there is a wait because everything is made to order which I didn’t mind that means it’s going to be good. We enjoyed everything down to the dessert. They even have chitlins and I’m not one to eat everybody’s but a lot of people were coming in and ordering them so I had to give them and try. They were cleaned very well and tender. I felt like I was eating my grandmas cooking.
WOW❣ The food is absolutely delicious, plenteous and keeps you coming back for more! Love the Whiting fish, collard greens, yams, mac and cheeses and cornbread! Not to mention the sweet husband and wife owners who are always polite, cordial, courteous and friendly❣
Today was my first time visiting Grandma's soul food; I ordered two dinners; the chicken and the fish with sweet potatoes, collard greens, macaroni and two pieces of chocolate cake. This food was so delicious I decided to call them before they closed to tell them verbally how good the dinner was and that I would soon return again. It's good to know that I can get a good home cooked meal from blessed and experienced hands that produces a delicious meal.
The food was a nice portion and tasted good it just takes forever to get your food. I will go back for a more accurate review but overall it was on ok place.
This is my first time and I spent $46 on three large dinners so a1 and you definitely get what you pay for and more so I would say this is one of the best soul food on the south side or in Richmond.
They have amazing food. The chicken tenders are on point. My grandma loves the chitterlings. They also have great collard greens and other veggies.
The wait was like 45 min, but the food was absolutely delicious. I had the smothered pork chops and it reminded me of a nice southern home cooked meal.
I love with the white of the restaurant but they were kind of slow I didn't have a chance to get my food I ordered three sides took about 20 minutes so I left
I have been craving some soul food. This place did satisfy that craving. I ordered the Fried Whiting dinner. The portions were huge. I would go back.

Make plans before ordering timing is a must when u order takeout... otherwise eating in is about the same as the wait...
When your food is cooked MTO made to order yes its being put down and cooked and prepared as if u had to go get the food yourself....
But at the end....
It do make u wanna go and smack ya momma..... num num mfn num....
Very good. Food is very good.get a lot for your money. My wife an I use a walker. They bring the food out to us. Call your order in always busy.
The food is good, but the service is slow. They never have everything that is on the menu. I always have to settle for my 2nd or 3rd choice.

Salmon patties were really 5 stars but it took off for horribly long wait. Over 40 minutes wait for order is not acceptable. 1 star based on wait.
