I’ve been waiting for quite a while to go to HooDoo Brown for the first time, and it was worth the wait! Loved the food. Everything was amazing. Brisket was absolutely superb, and I really enjoyed the ribs and sausage. My almost six year-old said the chicken fingers were the best he’s ever had. The place was crowded, but the service was very good. Overall, I highly recommend HooDoo Brown. It’s my new favorite place to eat!
The only knock I’ll give is that for some reason they are very territorial about their BBQ sauce. We ordered wayyyy too much food. Had to take home a bunch. The server was happy to provide boxes to take food home. But when I asked for cups to take home BBQ sauce, I was informed that there is a limit to how much BBQ sauce I could take home. Huh?? I spent more than $100 on a meal, and they limit the number of take-home cups of BBQ sauce? I realize their sauce is delicious, but it’s not like I bought a sprite and wanted to take home free BBQ sauce. I ate a big meal there, and wanted to take home a big meal. You would think they would be more accommodating over something as innocuous as sauce. Oh well.
Otherwise, I love HooDoo Brown and highly recommend it!
Off the charts amazing BBQ. Drove an hour to eat here and on the ride up I was pissing and moaning about driving an hour but let me tell you I was blown out of the water with the amazing flavor, great service and a huge doggy bag of food to bring home. Highly recommend.
HooDoo is a place my son has been telling us about for quite awhile. We finally got to go there this weekend for his birthday. Oh my God. The food is outrageous. I had the jar of bacon. Mmmmm so good brisket chicken poutine lordie I felt like I died and went to heaven. Can’t wait to go back !!!!!
Heard a lot about this place. Had to try it out and was worth the trip. Food and atmosphere is great. One of the best BBQ I’ve been to.
So worth it! The beef ribs are amazing! Have to go back to try the prime rib. The whole staff was very friendly.
Went for dinner last night , and after an hour ride, always worth it by the way, was told 1 1/2 hour wait , went into the bar and lucked out with 2 seats immediately , so we got to eat the incredible food as usual, and met a couple of great bartenders, very friendly and knowledgeable, love this place for the food but also the new staff I met, may be the best restaurant I’ve ever been to in my 51 years or so, keep doing what you do, I’ll be back time after time ❤️
Excellent food & service! Pork nachos, poutine, pork ribs, brisket, pork belly, hogzilla, collard greens, beans & Mac & cheese! All delicious. Can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I loved this place. I saw it on Facebook and had to stop by one day! Our host Erika was so friendly and helpful with deciding what food we should get! The nachos are die for and the ribs, omg the ribs are delicious! We will definitely be back!
Excellent food. Happened to visit last night. The food and the service was excellent. The pork belly was crunchy. The brisket was tender and the beef rib was also very good. Looking forward to my next visit.
We had a bit of a wait for a table but the staff was very friendly and passed out bags of corn chips to the hungry folks waiting for tables......lol
I ordered the Blackened Catfish with Cole slaw, potato salad and collards. It was delicious! Can't wait to go back!
Definitely worth the wait!!! Very accommodating to everyone large or small groups - Kid friendly ! Brisket and Pork Belly a must to try !! Staff was awesome, portions were generous .. We asked about buying the house made BBQ SAUCES - not for retail yet .. they gave us a pint of each to bring home !! Thank you !!! The absolute best thing is they DO NOT RUSH YOU OUT THE DOOR!!! The worst thing is the small parking lot - but again worth the wait !
Awesome food great service we came late around 10 45 after the kitchen closed at 10 30 but they still got us food ! I had the pulled pork was amazing ! Will be coming back
Place is great food was awesome (prime rib) and the service was impeccable! Victoria was great dealing with 9 drunk guys at one time!
An incredible menu, great, no awesome BBQ, great service. Worth s 3 hour drive from Boston!
Lovely place, good food, large portions, helpful staff.
I came here a few years ago and returned today. GOSH I LOVE THIS PLACE. The food is absolutely amazing and the portions are great! My favorite pieces are the wings -(I’ve had bbq and Garlic Parm both 10/10), crackling pork belly, and the half crispy chicken. I usually don’t like cornbread but theirs is so moist and tender- it’s perfection.
As for dessert: I love the caramelita sundae!!
Quality BBQ in the Northeast! BBQ is my favorite type of food and growing up in South Carolina I know what good BBQ should taste like. This is probably the closest thing to good Texas BBQ you’ll find in the Northeast. That said it’s not perfect.
We ordered quite a bit because we like to sample and compare it to other places. We ordered: Brisket, half rack of ribs, crispy pork belly, pulled pork, half a chicken, link of the cheddar jalapeño sausage, Mac and cheese, cornbread, baked beans, collard greens and the slaw.
The stand outs were the sausage (super good smoked flavor), smoked chicken and the ribs. Brisket had a good bark. The collards and baked beans were a bit of a let down. All in all very good and will come back.
I came here with my wife on a Thursday evening not too long after opening. The restaurant is nice and charming and the smell of a smoker adds great ambience to the front lot! I am a third-generation Texan raised in the South and a bit of a barbecue enthusiast so since we were nearby I was excited to try.
We ordered the Texas poutine, 1 lb of the Thursday Prime Rib special, 1/2 lb of brisket, one link of jalapeno cheddar sausage and one link of their weekly special brisket boudin sausage, and a side of collard greens. Poutine is my favorite food aside from brisket, and the combination of the two was insanely amazing; smoky, salty (not too salty), savory, just great! The prime rib was absolutely fabulous, definitely some of the best I've ever had, and the horseradish sauce had the exact right amount of kick to it.
The brisket was good, it passed the ultimate Texas test and had great hang to it, and it had great smoky flavor! The jalapeno cheddar sausage was fantastic; my only two critiques were that the greens were good, but could use a little bit more spice (not *heat*, but spice); and the brisket boudin was quite dry (I am also a boudin enthusiast from growing up on the River across from Louisiana and I think the issue is it was low on the fat content, but Isaac Toups has a great YouTube video on making boudin if you want the 411).
TL;DR Fabulous food and great service in a very cozy dinner spot, only drawback is that there is very little parking and the nearby businesses seem intent on threatening to tow anybody who parks there, so be prepared for a bit of a parking dilemma if you want their fantastic food!
Great food! One of the best briskets we had! Nice atmosphere. We were told we need to wait 20 minutes to be seated but they were ready much faster.
Repeat offender here! Never disappoints!
Where to even start? I've had an array of appetizers and bbq meats. Loved every single thing. Of course the pulled pork is to die for! I love the sauces that they give you for them as well. Tried the smoked wings tonight, my new favorite wings. And my all time favorite, the s'mores ice cream cake!
The only two things I would complain about (but clearly didn't change my rating) is the parking is usually quite busy and sometimes it's hard to get them on the phone to answer.
But besides those 2 things, I LOVE this place !
Visited and had a waiter named Erica, shes was very nice and knowledgeable. But seemed a bit overwhelmed. Only visited our large party a few times.I assume this place is understaffed.
Pros:
Taste: AMAZING!!!!!!!
Portions: HUGE!!!!
Staff: is extremely friendly.
Restrooms are clean.
Con:
Alcoholic drinks are terrible. You’ll be better off with a sixpack of mikes hard lemonade.
The Fried Oreos are very gamey.
Food is just a tad bit pricey.
Heard good things and decided to take a ride there for Saturday lunch. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Wish you were closer. Parking is a bit of a pain as the lot is busy. We were greeted upon entering and seated immediately as the dining area was not busy. Had 1/2 lb brisket and side of beans. The brisket was very tasty, but unlike true Texas bbq it was a bit dry even though it had a decent fat layer. The house made Carolina Gold bbq sauce was surprisingly good. The beans have a nice brown sugar taste. Our server was fantastic, explained the menu to us first-timers, and checked back to the table several times during our meal. Nice touch of comedy adding masks to the photos on the wall. Next visit I think I’ll try pork or beef ribs.
The food was so good!! We ordered the Holy Texas Trinity for my family of 5, which included 1 pound of brisket, one of each sausage link, a rack of pork ribs and cornbread. We had to ordered the sides separately which is why I didn't give it a 5 star. For the price, it should've came with at least 2 sides. There's 2 kinds of sauce on the table for you to add to your liking. We liked the sweet bbq sauce. Overall, would recommend.
