I always stop there to eat breakfast when I'm in the area, usually when I'm on my way down south. In my opinion you can't get a better breakfast anywhere!

Lived in Ridgeway many years and Clarence's was always our go to restaurant. When I go back for visits it is always Clarence's for breakfast (best tenderloin ever).

Wasn't sure at first but, I've tried the Alaskan fish. Very good! Not dry and perfectly cooked. Staff is super nice as well. I'm really impressed for the price. Thanks 😊

The only review you need. Please read this if you’re thinking about it. I feel like we may have robbed them with how good it was. No change up, no curve ball, nothing but straight GAS. Myself and 3 others went on Saturday August 26th. All 4 of us order the special which was a 6oz Steak, choice of chicken tenders or butterfly shrimp, and either some type of potato (I got sweet potato) and choice of another 10+ sides (got macaroni salad), and some type of bread. IT WAS $11 like are you kidding me $11 for all that. It’s every bit of $13 for a large combo at a fast food place. The food was magnificent. The waitress also had no issue reading off all the numerous sides and was sure to check in on us and make sure we had everything we needed. Over all place was very good, amazing deal, good service. Now don’t get me wrong it’s not fancy, it is most certainly old, this place has been around for a long time and it looks as such too. But don’t be discouraged it was fantastic.

We always have a good experience and good food at Clarence's. We had reserved two large tables for a group of ladies on a Friday night for a get together. They were very accommodating! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect for our needs that evening! Thank you, Clarence's, for a wonderful experience and for letting us ladies study together after our meal. Bless you!

This is our third NASCAR race week here at Martinsville Speedway, and we have developed a routine of coming here for breakfast on Sunday morning the week prior to the race. GREAT food and GREAT atmosphere. I had the western omelet and loved it. Wasn't a huge fan of fried potatoes, though. Highly recommend!!!

In this day and age of fast food, Clarences has been a local staple of home cooking for years. I hope it will be around for many more years. It's not just a restaurant. It's a place to catch up. Clarence is always present and interacts with his customers. From a patron perspective the food is great reasonably priced, good portions. But above all attention to detail. They check all orders against the tickets to ensure accuracy of the order. SO APPRECIATEED. Staff are so nice.

The lunch special beef tips were pot roast tender and delicious. The bowl of pickled beets were uniquely delicious. The homemade onion rings were huge, tender, crispy, and the hit of the lunch. The mashed potatoes seemed fresh and the gravy was perfect. The pork left a lot to be desired. The cornbread and hushpuppies were wonderful. It would have been better had they had real butter to use with them instead of a spread, but all in all great food and if we come anywhere close to there again in our travels we WILLbe eating there again. Also very reasonable lunch prices.

Clarence's is a reliably good place to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good, down home cooking, different plate specials every night. Tonight I had the special of a 6 oz. NY strip with either butterfly shrimp or chicken tenders (I chose shrimp), tossed salad, choice of potato and either rolls or hush puppies for only $10.95! Delicious and more than I could eat.

This place is along-side the highway, but kinda blends into the other shops, so we had never stopped. As far as food, it was very like other cafeteria-type places, though your food is brought to you. I ate the chicken and dumplings and with 3 sides, it was delicious, and very filling! The price is very reasonable for 8.50$ a plate. It also came with a choice of bread. Was too full to try the homemade peach cobbler, but it looked great also!

Homemade onion rings beyond delicious. All food great except the pulled (more like blendered) pork. The pickled beets also stood out as exceptionally delicious.
