Great tasting 🦬 and appetizers, portion sizes could be better but overall a fantastic experience.
I decided to treat myself when I was out at the aquarium, so I stopped in to Tweeds.
The decor is fantastic. It reminds me of an old 20s hunting lodge or Teddy Roosevelt's old house. The mounts on the wall were a bit ironic considering they have an elk, and that's what I was eating. The staff were all super friendly and we had a nice chat at the bar when I went.
For a starter, I ordered some duck wings. They were a little pricy, but I understand why. They were by far the best wings I've had in my life. So much flavor, so tender, and very large in size. I almost ate the bones they were so good. For my main, I got an elk steak. The steak was cooked to perfection. The flavor was rich, not gamey at all. The portion was more than enough. The veggies that came with it were fresh and tasty as well. The potatoes were good, and the gravy was so sweet and creamy.
Honestly, this is my favorite place for a good meal when I'm out in Riverhead. I can't wait to go back and try some oysters.

Tweed's Restaurant boasts a prime location on Main Street. This establishment truly excels in the appetizer department, offering some of the finest options in town. As for the lunch specials, the burgers are an absolute delight, making them a must-try for out-of-town visitors. Additionally, there is a generously-sized public parking lot behind the restaurant that is free of charge, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
Great steak! The scallops are absolutely incredible! The owner is a very lucky person in regards to the staff they have hired, my waitress was down to earth and took a ton of pride in her job. Thanks again! Awesome place place for a nice dinner whiskey selection is off the charts.
Steaks were amazing and very nice size portions. Cooked to perfection. We had a bottle of wine so can't say how the drinks were. Service was good. Very tight place and reservations highly encouraged. The atmosphere is just perfect. An original place from 1896 and they still have a hotel upstairs. ENJOY.
Went for lunch on a Sunday. Smaller place would recommend making a reservation. Food was delicious. Had Bison meatballs as appetizer. Very good can't really tell the diff beef and Bison. My husband had the baymens soup for an app and the Tuna for his meal. I had the country salad with chicken. Very good service and staff was friendly and helpful.
I've been wanting to visit this place a long time and I am glad I have finally dined at this wonderful establishment.Some of the freshest clams on the half shell I've ever had. The tray and presentation of the clams on the half shell was outstanding itself. Then I ordered the Bison burger cooked to medium rare perfection, the juices oozing out covering the fresh soft bun. Every bite a tender treat the bison meat was delightfully tasty. The fries were some of the best I've ever had as well fresh, big, tasty . I would definitely recommend the food here and can't wait to go back.
I came here a couple month ago after shopping at the outlets and loved everything we ate. I recently came back with my fiancé and he also loved everything. The bison is delicious and reccomend the bison cabbage soup, bison Rueben, and the duck wrap. My fiancé loved the beer selection saying that he has never found a certain type of beer there, idk which one though. The pumpkin martini was great as well. BIG shoutout to our waitress both times: Claudia. She was amazing, so kind and helpful. I wish she was my waitress everywhere I ate! All in all this place is great! Def recommend!
I have never been to a restaurant that treats kids like real, paying customers... Well the staff at Tweeds did. This was our first time there but we were greeted like old friends. The restaurant is so warm and welcoming that I immediately felt at ease dining at a steakhouse with a six and a four year old, which can be stressful. The service and warm staff were already enough to win us over, and then came the food, fresh, amazing, tasty dishes. The scallops in brown butter were deliciously sweet. Our oysters perfectly cool and fresh. Entrees of salmon and elk prime rib perfectly cooked. Truly a great experience. Thank you Tweeds.
The lobster ravioli was perfect; delectable sauce, lots of lobster meat. The manager was extremely impressive: friendly, gracious, and eager to please. Loved the ambiance. However, the prime rib had more grizzle than expected, and could have been tenderer, with a little more flavor. 🥩
We had a pretty good first experience, we even made a reservation to come back but on that occasion, we arrived on time only to be told they sat someone at our table who wasn't finished and we had to wait. They comped us a drink and an appetizer which was nice but when we were seated at our table, they crammed our party of 3 larger women at a table intended for 2. It was very cramped and though the service was mostly good, we did not really enjoy our second experience as much. So averaging a 4.5 and a 2.5 star experience, I'll round up and give them a 4.
This is one of those special places that serves only the best of everything. If you've never had a Kobe Bison Burger then treat yourself to one here. It big juicy and delicious. The potato wedges that come with it are scrumptious. Try the Long Island Clam chowder, its like no where else. The draft beers are really good as well. Stop in for lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed.

Overall great experience. Would be happy to change this to a 5 star if the quality of the mahi mahi fish was better along with the duck. If you are going to charge what you charge for fish it should be PERFECTLY cooked same with the duck both VERY dry. The other disappointment around it the steamed vegetables were hardly steamed and not seasoned at all. If I'm ever going to pay over $30 for a dish you better season my side.
The bacon wrapped scallops stuffed clams. As entrees were phenomenal, cooked perfectly. I had bison short rib perfectly cooked. Bison burger perfectly cooked. Everything that they do bison here is everything that you wanted to be on more. It is without question, something in its own right. Quality food for sure. Out of coming here once and seeing this kind of consistency I would have expected more out of it. In the sense that two dishes were overcooked out of 4. I will say though our server and service was fantastic and both of those dishes we did not have to pay for. The mahi was visibly dry as well as the duck and our waitress saw that and addressed the problem. I cannot wait to go back to try more dishes at this place but would like to see more consistency.
Perfect place for a romantic dinner or special occasion. Everything was delicious, especially the salmon, French onion soup and bacon wrapped scallops. Great service and atmosphere.
Great atmosphere. The food was outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and our server Alyssa was great. She made a Wednesday date night both memorable and enjoyable. The chef, Ian, definitely knows how to cook. We had the bison steaks. The cook on them was pure perfection. The sauces were delicious too. We will definitely be back!
Love this place, everytime I travel to the east end I stop here. Food is delicious and the staff are amazing!!!
They had live piano music while we were there. My favorite thing was the Bison filet. It had a really wonderful sauce with it. The service was great and they're known for all different kinds of Bison steaks and burgers.
Enjoyed the food in Tweed’s! Got lobster bisque soup, amazing! Bison filet was special for us. Porterhouse was good portion! Overall pleasant experience in this lovely place!
