Excellent food and service. I always get my special dish of veal and eggplant parmigiana stacked together and gnocchi. I've tried many other dishes here too and they were also outstanding. Being Italian I have checked out many Italian restaurants in this city and Papa Joes wins hands down!

We hired papa joes to cater our parents 50th wedding anniversary party, excellent food! Best chicken French in town! All of the guests were so pleased. And most of all Mom & Dad!

I've eaten here many times. The Chicken French is fantastic! I love how they serve it with escarole and I ask for it over capallini. Huge portions.
It's the best Italian restaurant in Rochester! Sauce is delicious, great eggplant, gnocchi, pretty much everything they serve. Haven't had anything I didn't like-great soups too. yum!

My waitress was very polite and always made sure we was ok or if we needed anything. Plus the food was amazing, little pricey for my taste but delicious service and food.

Delicious dinner last night. I had Gluten free Haddock Marinara which was tender and flaky. The GF penne pasta tasted like regular pasta. I also loved the GF rolls that were steaming and tasty.
My partner had Chicken Saltimbocca that was very good.

Good Appetizer!. All I had was the Fried Calamari with Hot Banana Peppers, but it was really good. The waitress was friendly and attentive, and all smiles. I can't wait to try the Bananas Foster Cheesecake I got to go!! :)

FANTASTIC. Theres nothing i love more than a well run family business. I had a fantastic experience here! the calamari was delightful! One of the best ive ever had. i also had a terrific chicken dish! it was chicken breast topped with cheese and artichokes..TO DIE FOR!!!!!!!! our service was great the young girl serving us was very cheerful and very helpful. Her timing was spot on, and attitude was great! i will be back here next time i crave italian
Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. The resteraunt was incredibly clean and enjoyable to be in. The waitress was very kind. The service was quick but That certainly did not change the quality. I ordered the Della Casa (veal with melted provolone cheese in a garlic and white wine cream sauce) and highly recommend it. For dessert I ordered the Banana Fosters Cheesecake and it was the best cheesecake I have ever had.
My FAVORITE. Papa Joe's is our family's favorite restaurant. Food is great, big portions ( always a to-go box needed) and the prices are great ! Their Calamari, Greens 'n Beans, and Chicken French are our favorites ! They also do a great job @ catering!
Great place to eat!. I eat at Papa Joe's once every other month with a business client. The food is awesome and the staff is exceptional!! They're "middle of the road" as far as price. It's a small place and they're always busy. Excellent choice for italian in Rochester!
The pearl is inside!. This unassuming building houses delectable Italian cuisine. Best Italian wedding soup yet! Marinara?.....just pour it in a glass and I'll drink it.

This is the real thing!. Yes, it's a small place but that's OK. Maybe it will discourage people from stopping in and it's crowded enough now!
The calamari is to die for....lightly breaded and fried and served with banana peppers and marinara on the side. Both the red and marinara sauces are wonderful. The scampi sauce is heavenly!
Drive up take out window is great when the place is too packed.
Sally was FANTASTIC service, friendly, accurate, helpful just pleasant personality. Chicken French always great, Pasta with oil, garlic excellent as was side meatball, sausage. Starter of clam chowder delicious and served hot. A wonderful dining experience as always.
I have eaten at Papa Joes many times and I always love it - but this past weekend was the first time I have used their catering service. They did not disappoint. We had a small dinner party of 13. Everything was ready on time and the food was delicious. They were able to accommodate special diets and there was enough for leftovers for people to take home. The price was excellent and the person who assisted in the pick up was very helpful and courteous. Will be using their catering services again!
Excellent food, extremely nice staff, I can't wait to go back. A friend that I haven't seen in months and I ate here last week. We were there for 3 hours and the staff were so nice and never asked us to leave ( that's happened to me before elsewhere). I am a picky person, and everything was perfect from start to finish.

First time at this restaurant. Made reservations (and so glad we did), went straight to our table. Hostess seated us, waitress was there within one minute, to take our drink orders, and placed basket of homemade bread on the table.
Waited a reasonable amount if time to look at the menu, and waitress returned and took our orders. Meals & salads were delivered to the table and I could not believe the size of the plates (platters) and the amount of food on them. They dish a VERY GENEROUS PORTION of each meal. (I love the saying, "IF you leave here hungry, it's your fault!) ALL the staff, from hostess to the waitresses, waiters, and bus boys were extremely polite and courteous. We were NOT asked consistently or to many time on the quality of the meals. We were left to enjoy the meals and the company we were with. It was a very, very great experience personnel and food wise. And it made my wife ask if we could return here another day. As I stated, this was our first time here. And it was my wife's birthday dinner. Yes! She loved it! I would definitely give this restaurant a 5* rating. (If I could give a 10* This place would get it) !

For her birthday, my better half wanted to try something new for dinner, and I happened to find Papa Joe’s. As we drove up to the restaurant, it sure didn’t look like much from the outside—a former bank based on the looks of it. But inside is tastefully decorated and certainly feels like an Italian restaurant. For our first experience, I have to say we were quite impressed! The prices were reasonable for the portions we received—I left satisfied with the portion size (which is very rare given I’m a big guy) and my better half was pleased to have leftovers, both in terms of quantity and something she’d actually want to eat again later. We were also impressed with the attentiveness of the service, and particularly for dining on a Friday evening, I was very impressed with the efficient pace of our meal. Drinks and bread came quickly (including refills on both) as well as the salad / soup course, and then the main course. At so many restaurants lately it seems like things take an inexplicably long time, and also in many restaurants lately they bring everything out at once leading to your eating food that is no longer hot like it should be (instead of bringing bread and drinks, then salad / soup, then the main course, allowing you to finish one thing before being presented with the next). I ordered the Chicken French and my better half enjoyed a dinner special—based on how much we liked the food and the service, we both are looking forward to dining at Papa Joe’s again soon!
Take your hubby on a date night was a success! Hubby picked Papa Joe's! All about trying new foods and supporting local businesses. I'm a huge alfredo junkie, but to my surprise no alfredo. Soooooo, I settled for chicken parm! What a great dish! Enough food for the both of us lol yummy! Hubby got lasagna, ate every bit! Our server was quick, friendly & knowledgeable about the menu! Thanks, Papa Joe's! 😁
EXCELLENT food! We had a party of 13 and the server never asked us how we wanted the bill split, and it took forever to get drinks and bread, etc. and then took forever to pay the bill. Their point of sale system apparently only allows them to split a bill 4 ways? Great place, just not very wl equipped to handle large parties. Ceiling also in disrepair - looks like there are aome water leaks and stains.
I usually don’t dine out. But I had just spend four days in the hospital with a clear-liquids diet so I was desiring something that’ll feel satisfying. Not only was the staff here above and beyond attentive, never once did I see anyone without a smile, our waitress was so welcoming and proactive with any refills, I not only left with a happy full-feeling, but with a large smile as well for service like this is VERY hard to come by. The food was beyond flavorful and plentiful. A dinner will fill up two grown men’s appetite FYI, expect leftovers. It’s no surprise the amount of accolades this restaurant has and earning more I doubt will be an issue.
Fantastic food and great service. Would be 5 stars easily, but the ambiance is lacking since it’s a former bank and it still feels like it in the dining room. The other issue is the hours. They close somewhat early for a dinner restaurant which was kind of awkward when we were taking a colleague out after work.
The pasta is fresh, the tomato sauce is made perfectly, and the staff are friendly, expedient, and happy when the guests enjoy their meals. A must try for Italian favorites. Plenty served to take home for the next day. So grateful to find this place.
