We found this gem on an unscheduled stop in Rochester. We ordered the Whiskey River burger and Whiskey River chicken sandwich. The food was amazing. The sauces on the chicken sandwich were a perfect pairing, and our waiter even brought me the two mixed together to dip my fries in when I asked. Definitely somewhere we would go to again if we're ever in Rochester.

This is a great setup outside which is the only reason for a 4, be warned if there is a band and you're there for dinner, have $10 per person cash to eat outside. You can eat inside at no charge. We had no cash, wanted to eat outside and asked if they could add $20 to our dinner bill, the answer was a hard NO, so off to the ATM onsite. In this situation, I would recommend the option to add door fees to outside diners meal check. Our waitress was very nice, drinks came quickly. We wanted a pizza but were told they were done making them, why give us the separate pizza menu then? Then just before our food came out, the table next to us, who were seated at the same time, received a pizza! We picked fried calamari, whiskey river clams and steak hoagie. Our food came, she left napkins, but we had no utensils, salt, pepper or condiments. So we had to ask a busser for them. The hoagie was good, but the cheese was nacho cheese, not provolone as listed on the menu. The calamari was good, but they threw whole peperoncini's on it, why not slice them? The clams had pieces of pasta included, it's not a pasta dish, just clams sauteed in white wine and garlic sauce. They must just reuse cooking pans?? They were also very spicy, and had small clam shell pieces in the sauce. We waited forever to get our check. The waitress was concentrating on the opposite side of the dining area, the band had stopped playing and we were just waiting and trying to get her or anyone's attention so we could leave. Next time we may eat at one of the other restaurants in the area and then stop for the music after, or go early and maybe have a chance to try the pizza.

I had the chicken french sandwich which was ok. The bottom of the roll was soggy and the chicken breast could have been sliced thinner and pounded to make it more tender. The service outside was good, but friends who dined inside waited a long time for their food. The atmosphere is fun when there's a band. The outside and bar area is really nice.

Stopped in on a Friday ochre for a fish fry and was not disappointed. Had smoked wings which were out of this world. Staff was friendly. Service was a bit slow but no complaints other than that. They also have live music playing outside so a good place to eat and relax

Set outside with friends and family for an outdoor concert and dinner. Very busy! Staff was good but a bit overworked, which seems very common these days. I had their smoked chicken wings with the black and blue treatment, which were very tasty but a bit pricey. My girlfriend had a special order hamburger without a bun (no gluten-free option visible) and french fries. The french fries side was disappointing due to the very small portion provided. No complaints from the other diners. Drinks were not on the cheap side but reasonably priced considering the music was free. Inside the bar was quite busy, although this was a beautiful Friday night.

Great Spot. Sometimes overwhelming for the staff because they are so popular. Food, staff, and out door music and free parking. Highly recommend

Great place to unwind and spend time with friends and family. There is plenty of room for bigger groups, great for small, intimate couples too. Food is delicious, and the outdoor stage is a welcoming attraction to see some of the hottest local bands.

I ended up here because a friend of mine recommended their smoked chicken wings! I had no idea they smoked food and did barbecue... delicious!! It's a nice place to go across from the river they have live music some nights and the food is good! If you like baked beans I highly recommend them! Parking can be tough if they get busy. There's a parking lot next to the building and there is street parking but there's also a lot behind the building and if you can't find a place in any of those three places then down the street near Pelican's Nest is the next closest place to park. Check it out if you have not!!

Was busy when we came in but it was 6 on a Saturday night. The wait was less than 10 minutes and we had a seat at the bar. The food was absolutely excellent! We got the blue and gold smoked wings which were unbelievably juicy and tasted awesome! The whiskey selection was vast and the cost was low. I ordered a relatively top end bourbon neat and it was 6.50! That is unheard of and definitely I'll be back just for that. The crowd was upbeat the music was appropriately volume, and the TVs were jamming sports. They offer plenty of healthy and gluten-free items in the menu and the costs are average for the Rochester area. Lower in some cases. The downside to the restaurant is the area has minimal parking. However 5 minute walk from there has more than ample parking spaces and lots. You will not be disappointed with whiskey river! Give them a chance. Enjoy the food and flair, and bring buisness back to this area of the city!

Awesome party room upstairs. Great, attentive staff. Full bar. Beautifully designed. Update: best fish fry I've ever had! The batter is seasoned in such a way that I find myself hardly using tartar sauce!

Really nice place! Went for bike night 6/29/23. Great bartender outside (Jess?), good prices on drinks and the smoked blue and gold sauce wings were unreal!! Only gripe is that the band was way too loud. It wasn't just me, I heard 4 groups of people say they were leaving because it was too loud. And I know..."If it's too loud you're too old" but my ears were literally ringing when I got home. I will be back, but please turn down it a little.
