There is a beautiful scenery and nice people. It’s my first time playing golf because of my firm event. I was in a beginner group. We barely know how to play golf except one girl with a little experience. But there is one employee helped us all the way through 18 holes. He taught us how to select clubs, how to hit the balls and how to use strategies. He even bought me a drink when I won his game. It’s a super nice experience. We all had fun. The dinner was good too. I definitely fell in love with playing golf. I will return there once I improved my skills.
Westwynd is a challenging course. Has some very shaped fairways and you can get yourself into some real trouble. The design makes it fun. The greens are also tough. They are unforgiving and it’s important to land on a safe part of the green. This is one of the best public courses in the area and very well-maintained. Can be pricey during the peak season, but with the location and quality, it’s understandable. Looking forwards to some future rounds here.
Westwynd golf course 👍👍👍 👍 👎🏿
Course 👍 - Greatly maintained . fairway good so as green. Lot of trees and sand bunkers make game tough. We enjoyed and will be back.
Amenities 👍- no golf range area found. Proshop has food and drinks and beer cart girl in the course
Staff & management 👍 starter and other staff members doing great job. Ok customer service
Value of the money 👍- it's expensive and for 9 holes it's $35 on weekday but it's worth as it maintain decent.
Pace of the play & direction 👎🏿 Pace of the play need to improve and we saw groups of 6 kids playing together. We played 9 holes and there is no sign how to return to parking lot after finishing front 9. It's good to have sign showing how to go back to pro shop/ parking lot.
Beautiful venue! Excellent service! Melissa and her team did a great job! Perfect spot for a special event.
Busy course, but very nice. One of the best in the area. The price is higher than average, but worth it. Can't wait to play again. A must try for for anyone looking for new courses to play.
Love this place! Scenic, long and challenging course for any level golfer. Expect to take more balls with you than you would normally as the rough can eat balls that you expect to find. The rough also eats clubs. Staff are friendly and helpful. I always appreciate that we are not paired with others to make a group of four for every tee time, but I think you pay a little for that luxury with a longer time on the course. With two people I expect to spend 4.5 hours for 18 holes. I've not done any better than 3.75 hours playing on my own. Two areas for improvement: I'd like to see more consistent beverage cart service and the "pit stop" building being after hole 11 is often closed when you want more drinks/food. I'd like to see that fully staffed during the busy season as people get hungry and thirsty playing for nearly 5 hours without. Westwynd Grille has good enough food to stand on its own as a restaurant. Lovely views of holes 16 & 18 from the terrace if you're lucky to get a reservation there with good weather. Opportunity for the restaurant is to offer more vegetarian meal options outside of just salads (please!).
3.5 at best, the 4 star rating is a default generosity. Wonderful layout on a could-be spectacular course that requires keen shot placement and selection. Although aesthetically the greens and overall condition of course has severely hindered in recent years. My first time there I was appalled at the pristine condition this course offered and it was the nicest course I had ever played up to that point. Unfortunately now it’s an overpriced experience that plays at a fraction of it’s potential. On Memorial Day weekend (Sun) I finished at 6:30pm and was the last group off the course on a day that should be busy all day, proof is in the pudding, numbers don’t lie. Sad to say but this place will be a subdivision in 10 years
