If you're health-conscious but crave really good takeout, this is your place! We moved to Rockaway three months ago, and since then we've found some options- but nothing comes close to this place. I ordered a salmon club- the salmon wasn't fishy at all; the bread was a hearty multigrain; the lettuce was actually green; and the avocado was fresh. My husband ordered a chicken dish that came topped with fresh peach slices and a light raspberry glaze, and the plate was loaded with fresh veggies. Nothing was over-sauced, salty or greasy. Even the calamari was crisp and light. When I picked it up I was greeted warmly by 3 different staff members, and one (the manager? Owner maybe?) offered to carry my food to the car because I had my toddler with me. All that, and the prices are so reasonable. I was so impressed that I actually called them to compliment them after we finished eating. �
The Barn is 'our' place to go. My husband and I never get tired of the place. Food and service is great! The staff really hustles. And the menu is always changing with the seasons. The summer salads now are out of this world along with their ribs. The summer BBQ is also great!! In the Fall they have a butternut squash ravioli with apple sausage that my friend and I can't wait for. Sitting outside is the best with the weekend games on and Sunday afternoon entertainment. We always stop by after golf to relax and have an ice cold beer along with some great food. The owner will also stop by to see how your doing and to shake your hand. It was a beautiful day Sunday. We were seated promptly and greeted very nicely. We enjoyed the weather outside on the patio. Place was extremely clean. The food and the appetizers were fresh and delicious. What I really enjoyed the most was the healthy choices you had on the menu to choose from. Our food came out quickly and although I do t remember our servers name, she checked on us in a timely manor not every 5 seconds like some places do. I will definitely return and will recommend it to friends .
This place does a really nice job. Huge menu with lots of healthy options. Really roomy restaurant and bar area with nice people, good friendly service, and a very attentive owner.
Had a nice burger cooked on the outside grill and my wife had eggplant rollatini which was very good also - service was very good and the beer was cold - very happy with our experience at the Rockaway River Barn and will go back again !!!!
great place to go and eat and drink great music every night is different . wonderful staff love going there. Had blast again at the SUPER BOWL PARTY , This was 3rd year in a row attending what a wonderful night . Gary , Dean the staff are spot on perfect love going there .
We didn't go for mother's day brunch but we went on mother's day at 5pm and the staff was still trying to get things turned around. I think they did a great job of getting things turned back to the restaurant although some other patrons may have found the moving of furniture (folding tables, chairs, etc) bothersome. Food was great as always! Love the wild mushroom pizza! Thanks for great service too.
Great place and the staff is always helpful and very nice people . Menu gives you lots to offer and the specials are really good typically.

I love the Barn - not only some of best salads and burgers around - not to mention gluten free pizza - their changing array of specials are always different and excellent quality! All of this just minutes from my home - what's not to love?
Was headed home from New York, and we stopped for an early dinner. Had the veggie burger and steak and shrimp. Very, very good. Highly recommended. We decided to get a dessert and coffee. So I'm adding this after the initial review. OMG, THE CHOCOLATE CAKE!!!! and it didn't need ice cream. U have to get the chocolate cake.

It was a Friday night. This place was packed. The service was a little slow. This place was packed. That should there and there alone tell you good the food was! They didn’t have a fire burning this time. When they do the atmosphere is just even more an country home setting. They do live music. The do game nights. Bring your friends. Bring your family. Lots of TV’s to catch your favorite team play in a game. This best part is they have gluten free options.
Very friendly staff. It's what you expect from with sports bar.. I had a little problem. They not only fixed it that gave me a free beer. That's pretty cool in my book.
This place is my favorite steaks are cooked to perfection no extra sauce needed. The steak and ribs or steak and shrimps is my favorite. Hand tossed Pizza and anything else. You'll thank me later and your friends will thank you . Enjoy
Nice restaurant/pub. We were driving home from the Delaware river gap, this was a great halfway point and the food was great! Nice indoor and outdoor spaces. The bar is large so if you're looking to get in eat something good and go this can be a good spot for quick dining. I liked their menu lots of good options and the food was good. Reasonably priced too.
The food was excellent, the wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Especially when the place was as crowded as it was.

I stopped for lunch and dined outside on their outdoor dining patio. The atmosphere was pleasant with umbrellas and tables far apart enough to give each customer space in between the tables. The food is always phenomenal. I had the Greek Rice Bowl which was a very large portion and a deep dish bowl. See the ingredients under the photo. I have plenty to take home for probably two more leftovers. The service was also stellar! My server, Cassandra, was very attentive, made wonderful suggestions when I asked her and was also very friendly, conversational, and a sweetheart. Ask for her! The prices are typical of that of a diner with excellent quality food. The Menu is large and diverse from Italian to Asian to American to BBQ choices. The dessert menu delightfully has a lot of choices and their prices are very good for dessert prices! Don’t pass on dessert for both the satisfaction and price! They also have special event nights, live bands, drink specials, seasonal and holiday specials, a bar and an inviting fireplace for the cooler weather. Ohhhh that wood burning smell is a perfect aroma and sensation on a cool day. Totally worth the visit for every aspect. It does get packed on the typical weekend evenings but go anyway if you don’t mind the crowd and the louder volume. Definitely quieter during lunch on weekdays and early/mid weeknights. Also best to go just before the dinner crowd on weekends if you can. They also stay open late for those night owls, date nights, friend meetups and sports fans! Devon was an outstanding server. Gave great recommendations and very courteous and thoughtful service and was mindful of our needs. The food was very good. I had the shrimp scampi and enjoyed it. My daughter had the BBQ half chicken and loved it. My husband had the tuna steak and it was very good. My dad and his girlfriend both had the lobster roll. My dad thought it had too much mayo but not his girlfriend. The restaurant however was not serving outside due to earlier rain and inside was very loud and they had to turn the a/c way down due to propping the door for the band to bring in their equipment so it was very chilly. Also menu is huge so read it before you go and the prices are reasonable but they charge extra for a lot of things
This wasn’t all the way planned I was going to see a movie in the area and thought a quick dinner would be a good idea before the movie. Ended up here and they didn’t disappoint, Thai chilli wings which was the first for me, roasted garlic pizza with prosciutto was the hit at the table and also Philly cheese steak egg rolls with chipotle sauce🤤🤤🤤the food was incredible and the service was fast and friendly.
It’s a bar restaurant it can be very noisy but overall, good food and great service. I’ll definitely be back to try more items.

Placed an order with Uber eats on memorial day forgetting that there would be less drivers on the road.
I didn’t see anyone claim my order so I called Rockaway River Barn to see if I could change it to pick up. Anna picked up the phone and she was the sweetest lady to help. I told her the situation and was ready to help if Uber didn’t claim it. She called me once someone from Uber did.
Food was hot when arrived and sooooo good. Thank you guys for providing service on Memorial Day when other places were closed!!

My husband son and I are visiting New Jersey this week for my husband's work. We are staying near by this restaurant and decided to give it a try ! We loved that atmosphere of this restaurant, it was country and bar style but cozy by the fire. They had a real working wood burning fireplace. The menu had tons to pick from. The steak was cooked perfect, and the ribs were fall off the bone delicious ! My son's Mac and cheese was a homemade Mac and cheese, he loved it ! Our server was great ! She got our order right away and brought everything we asked for. She was attentive and sweet ! Definitely recommend trying this restaurant out ! Highly recommend!
Took my daughter here for a belated lunch date for her birthday since we were in the area. Great burgers and French Onion soup. It was an early lunch around 11am and the restaurant was nice and quiet. It started filling up as we left around noon. Place was very clean and staff was attentive and polite. Fire was a nice touch on a cold day.
Despite living very close to this location I haven’t really frequented this establishment often. An associate of mine told me told me it was under new management and wanted to meet there.
I must say the service was wonderful and the food was standout. The owner was very nice, stopping by the table and greeting us and talking for a bit.
I would definitely go back.
The Barn is a fun place to get together with friends or fam. The food is reasonably priced and well prepared. Drinks are great. The shrimp cocktail was great and the shrimp were large and tasty. My soup/sandwich combo was delicious, excellent NE clam chowder. My spouses chicken Caesar salad was nothing to write home about, the chicken breast was not seasoned and though properly cooked was blah. Service was quick at the start of our meal but lagged as the venue filled up. We've dined here several times and this place is LOUD! At times it was hard to have conversation. More of a sports bar with great food than a romantic dinner place for sure. Recommended!
Casual place, lots of menu choices. Plenty of seating, outdoor patio, big bar area. Mom and I stopped here for lunch and had the cheesesteak spring rolls and we each had a burger. Food was cooked to order, hot, and delish! Service was great, we were here around 4pm on Tuesday and it wasn't crowded.
It was our first visit. I have driven by many times!

The food and service was very good. We loved the Ribs and Salmon sandwich. The fries both regular and sweet potatoes were on point; and the Cole slaw was delicious!
Amazing food. Andrew our server was wonderful pizza was literally just right. Good blend of salt and sweet with the squash and caramelized onions and the drizzle of balsamic reduction on top just finished it perfectly. Get it while it's on the menu!
