Ok, the Blues Festival is over. Today, I went to the Brass Compass for breakfast (went yesterday too). Those of you who know me well, know my passion for Eggs Benedict. Well, of course, I ordered them but got the lobster version. I must say, I haven't experienced anything better! The eggs cooked to perfection, the hollandaise sauce was perfect and homemade too! English muffins cooked just right, not too little not to much. Just right to not get too soggy from the flow of the perfectly poached eggs, once they were broken! Overflowing from under the eggs was a huge portion of lobster that was warm and delightful to my pallet. The lobster lasted till the end. The cup of fresh fruit accompanying the meal was very tasty and had a big variety of fruits! I can see myself driving here from Bucksport (48 miles) more often. Also of note, this place (The Brass Compass) won a throw down with Bobby Flay. The owner and head chef beat him in a Lobster club sandwich competition. It was on the food channel network. If you're ever in Rockland, stop by and enjoy a piece of heaven!

A quintessential breakfast diner. Tables filled with locals, greeted by name as they come in. Friendly hellos from strangers and lots of conversation around the room. Fantastic food and service, and a bottomless cup of coffee. Just perfect. A place I would enjoy often if I lived here.

My friends and I found this little gem a couple of years ago on our trip from Texas. Watching Kelly work her magic was mesmerizing. The food was outstanding. I'd eat there every meal if I lived there. I hope to get back there this summer for great food and to watch the show again. Who needs the food channel when you can watch a master work in person?!!

I go to Maine in the summers and when I'm there I eat at the Brass Compass because the food is the best. The sea food has always been fresh and very yummy. The deserts are to die 4. I hope they stay open for many more yrs

Best lobster salad in the state! The freshly made bread, crispy bacon with lettuce and tomato and it is perfection on a plate. The shoestring onion rings and sweet potato fries just round off a delightful lunch. The staff is quick and attentive. A favorite spot on the Maine coast!

Iv lived in Maine all my life, and never had seafood as good as this place. Not only was the food amazing the services was outstanding. My husband, and I have been from Bar Harbor - Portland ( and every where in between) looking for good seafood this summer, and I'm happy to say we found it. I can't wait to come back to Rockland with the rest of my family to revisit, and our first stop will be at The brass compass ( I heard the breakfast is just as amazing as the lunch). Thank you for changing our long, hot, and humid day around. 😊

I enjoyed the fresh baked bread and rejoiced at a vegan breakfast option. My carnivore husband equally enjoyed his food . Unassuming and throughly enjoyable breakfast.

Honestly every visit is filled with great food and great service, every time we have gone either breakfast or lunch. The portions are amazing and cost is always reasonable. I tell all my friends who are going to the coast to stop at either TBC or Archer's on the Pier.

I go every year on my way up to bar harbor and stop on my way home. The lobster club is how I start my vacation and how I end it. So much lobster. It's so big definitely a sharable sandwich. Posted pictures of my half. My only con would be location. Being on the corner of a busy street is not ideal and parking was a distance.

Great breakfast, brunch and lunch place. Large menu. We ordered the Bobby Flay club, it was huge, loaded with lobster & nice combination with crispy bacon, $24 for a very filling portion. A must try for visitors! Friendly and attentive staff. Love the local diner vibes.

In this environment, Brass Compass has perfect outside seating with some very nice shade trees. Great for distancing. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was satisfying. For some reason during my visit they struggled on the service side. I do not ask for much but what I did request, they did not deliver such as bringing out water and crisping the hash potatoes. The server recognized and apologized for the issues and I was fine with that.

My favorite place in Rockland. The king of clubs lobster club sandwich is amazing. But their breakfast is terrific and the service is awesome. Put this place on your must see list.

My family of five tried the Brass Compass for the first time for lunch today. Most places were still closed seasonally. I got the shrimp tacos, which were decent and on special. My boys ordered breakfast, which they tagged about, and my one year old had chicken fingers off of the kids menu. My husband had a fried haddock basket which he said was one of the best he's had in years. It's a cute little cafe with good food and friendly staff.

Decent diner in downtown Rockport that's right across from the Farnsworth. Really enjoy the lobster sandwich and the chowder. Nice environment and attentive staff. The shaded outside sitting area is quite nice for people watching.

This homey little diner has surprisingly delicious and well-priced cuisine. The seafood chowder is the best I’ve tasted in all of the North Atlantic coast.

Probably my favorite spot to eat in Rockland. Great local establishment. Casual and friendly. Great location in the heart of Rockland and near the harbor. Close to shopping. Without a doubt the best lobster stew around. A must try is the King of Clubs sandwhich. You won't regret it. The lobster, mayonnaise, and bacon combine to be the most flavorful sandwich I've ever had. Don't let the initial price scare you. This will fill you up. If you want to stay in the lighter side split it with someone else. It's a big sandwhich. Side of fries and coleslaw pictured.

The best breakfast in town. Go in there and simply ask for the "Sailor's Breakfast", you won't regret it. French toast is amazing too! Huge portions at very affordable prices, I love everything on the menu at this place!

We'd eaten at the other place across town, Lynn the owner runs and tried this for breakfast. Got lucky and seated pretty quick as it seems really busy. Food was fantastic and very fresh. Great prices and fun specials, especially the eggs!

After a 10-15 minute wait we enjoyed the outdoor seating and fast service. We ordered the Philly cheese steak (added horseradish mayo!) and shrimp tacos. Both were good sized servings and had excellent flavor. Will be back again for sure.
