After being chased out of Florida by hurricane Irma, cutting our vacation short, we arrived back in Chicago only to find our car in the parking garage with a dead battery. We were able to get our luggage in the car and took the elevator back into the hotel to eat.
The Ashburn was the closest so we opted for easy. We were greeted with smiles and a genuine concern for our well being (even though they were unaware of our situation). The ambience was cozy, dark woods with a classic airplane motif.
The lunch menu was basic; wood fire pizzas, burgers, sandwiches. It also contained pasta dishes and steaks.
I chose the fish and chips and my Sugar chose the hot turkey club with a cup of salmon chowder. My chosen sides included coleslaw and French fries. The slaw was under seasoned but refreshing, keeping in mind my love for a vinegar based slaw. The fries were actually tiny potatoes wedges with coarse salt, done to perfection. My fish was also done to perfection and served in a way that begged to be eaten by hand, not a fork. And let me just say the tartar sauce was incredible, the best I have ever had. The fish required an incredible sauce as it was a bit bland.
The hot turkey club on the other hand was AMAZING. Well seasoned, juicy turkey with crispy bacon on a lovely ciabatta roll. SO GOOD. And the salmon chowder was the perfect compliment; subtle flavors with chunks of salmon throughout.
Our waitress (Zarqua?) was attentive and very sweet. The hostess came to check on us as well as Chef "Tiny". Our water glasses were always filled as well as our tea and lemonade.
All in all we had a superb lunch in a well appointed atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. We will be back as we are curious about the warm bread pudding on the dessert menu that came highly recommended.
Absolutely Amazing!! I ordered deep fried Avocado tacos and a side of asparagus.... I couldn't have dreamed of better!!
The best French onion soup and the Pilot burger is perfect!
Everything was great- food was perfect, our server, Sid, was outstanding. So glad we decided on this restaurant.
There was a Reuben on the menu. They turned it into the perfect Rachel. Then they even special-made me some honey mustard dressing to dip my fries. Just wow.
Great meal last night celebrating restaurant week. Waiters Wakil and Benjamin were amazing and gave us great service. Better than Disney service! Look forward to coming again!
Loved the friendly, accommodating bartender Joseph; he made sure I liked my drinks and gave me extra attention. Breakfast was wonderful! All the wait staff was awesome and superbly efficient. Lorenzo even gave me a cup of Starbucks to go which was a really nice surprise! Loved this quiet oasis nestled in the city.
Last stay I wrote about the hotel. This time a take a few minutes for the restaurant. They are offering very good food from Pizza to Burgers and also the breakfast for the hotel. The service is extra ordinary and the food is delicious. I liked the Black Bean Burger with the fries exactly at the point. The breakfast buffet is very good at the price-point; with coffee and juices and fresh fruits and your soul needs for breakfast.
Located inside the Loews Hotel, this restaurant is very classy and modern. The breakfast buffet is $25 with coffee and juice included. The food was absolutely great and the service exceeds expectations. Very nice and comfortable atmosphere, great place for a business meeting or conference. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Located at Loews Chicago O'hare, close to Fashion Outlets of Chicago ( 5 minutes walk). The breakfast buffet is awesome. Variety of omelets, juices, breads, fruits. Cereals , waffle, hot plates, pastries.
Great service, very good plateware and silverware
The Ashburn served up the best black bean burger I’ve ever had, which was hot, crispy, filling and 100% vegetarian. It came with a side of pickles and hot wedge fries. I ordered this dish twice when I was a guest at the hotel, because I loved it so much. The artistic atmosphere makes it a very pleasant place to have a meal. Martin and Tere were very friendly servers!
Pro Tips:
- Come in the evening to enjoy their free dill popcorn
- Ask the manager about the amazing art pieces!
Nice and cosy with amazing decoration. Food was good and top level service. Good find
Thank you for serving my birthday party.
The food here is very good. All our entrees were excellent, and our server was attentive and helpful. We were having dinner here before seeing a show at the Rosemont Theater. This was very convenient.
We did encounter an issue with parking; however, the manager at the Auburn and the Parking Garage manager worked quickly to sort things out for us. They could not have been more attentive or courteous.
Highly recommended! Make sure you understand the complications in parking. If I were to do it again, I would use the validated parking for dinner and re-park at the theater.
I visited The Ashburn on 02/14/20 and our waiter Sid was the best. He catered to our every need and made sure everything was to our liking. He was very polite and courteous. The food was great.
