Being an organic food lover that I am - I’ve decided to check out the 1920 Tavern that’s located in downtown Roswell, on Canton St. I’ve heard so many good things about this restaurant but 1 thing I’m mostly interested in is their vegetarian tenderloin steak!
The 1920 Tavern is surrounded by a lot of pubs, restaurants, shops and art gallerias. Free street parking is available around the downtown area and $5 parking is located in the parking lot to the right of the Tavern.

Approaching the Tavern you will find an outside patio area which is very nice to sit at on a sunny day, specially on a weekend because there is a lot of activity in the area.

If you choose to sit inside, you will find a pub-style look with wooden tables to the left and a large bar to the right. Old school light bulbs hanging down from the ceiling and mirrored walls that have the “old/rusty” look. The kitchen is visible from the seating area, which is something I personally like, to be able to see how clean the kitchen is.

The service at the Tavern was great. Jamie, was taking care of us and he was very knowledgeable about the drinks and the food that the restaurant carries. He introduced me to an organic white wine called “Angeline” (which I had to try because my name is Angelina) lol - and I’m strictly a red wine drinker - but this one went down smooth and had a yummy after taste. My boyfriend, Alex, ordered the “wicket wheat” IPA, which he enjoyed a-lot.

Jamie informed us that their food trucks come in every day if not every other day, and the products comes from Spina Farms which are known to use only fresh and organic ingredients.

I ended up ordering the “Tenderloin Tacos” which should've been named “Super-Tenderloin Taco’s” The 3 tacos came in a unique square-shaped form and tasted delicious. (I almost cried from how gracefully the steak was melting in my mouth.)

Alex ordered the “Amazing Burger” cut from the same tenderloin steak with added bacon & mushrooms, it was one of the best burgers i’ve tried while living in the Roswell area.

Over all our experience was great, healthy food, fast and friendly service and the atmosphere was laid back.

Amanda made out experience wonderful from the initial call to book a reservation. When we arrived .. a few minutes late she acted like we were fast friends💛
Our waitress Vanessa was great too! We have dined in other restaurants in the area and the service was awful and frankly the prices way too high. The tavern food was amazing and the service was the best I e had in a long time- and I am a very hard critic since I work in client service. It's just not hard to be nice to people and Amanda and Vanessa are wonderful!

We enjoyed an evening with friends celebrating my husband's birthday. Had a wonderful time. The brussel sprouts, fried green tomatoes, tenderloin tacos and eggplant fries small plates were a favorite at our table. We also have to give kudos to our waiter Ari for doing an outstanding job. We recommend 1920 Tavern and will be back.
Amazing! The staff is better than the food and the food is incredible. Great atmosphere and wonderful vibe... too cool. Patrick rocks! Thanks for a wonderful lunch AND dinner! Great job Rich!

First time experience, it was great! The wait was about an hour but it was prime time on a Saturday so that's to be expected. I ordered the filet mignon and it was the best steak I've ever had! Phenomenal all around! Finished off with creme brûlée which was perfect! Highly recommend!
AMAZING food, wine, and atmosphere at 1920 Tavern! The service was on point too. We had a great experience and plan to visit again soon. Highly recommend getting out of Atlanta and checking out this little gem in downtown Roswell.
We’re moving to Marietta and we’re going to miss this place. Awesome food and even better service!

My fiancee has worked at 1920 for a couple of years. I am grateful for this because of how good the food is and i love the atmosphere. Jenna and Howard, the owners, literally treat every guest like family. They are fun loving, honest, and they take the quality of their restaurant very seriously! I am also in the restaurant business and we are the biggest critics because we know how things should run. I send my friends and family to 1920 all the time because i KNOW they will have a good meal and an awesome experience. My personal favorites: meatballs, goat cheese poundcake, the BEST reuben ever, anything on their dinner menu..lol...it is honestly all good! I was there the other night and my meal was yummy and Danni, Rich, and the whole gang made it a good time!!
Great food! The owner Howard will just make you have fun... He and his awesome wife make everything great on top of super food!!

Fabulous!! Cool bar setting with even better food! I had the ahi tuna tacos and caprese salad. Mom had the spicy chicken sandwich with small tavern side salad. Delightful. Full of flavor with perfect portions.
Another Quality Canton Street Option. So, after my meal I feel like the restaurant picks great quality seafood and cooks it with very little accompaniments to let the natural flavor of everything come through. I'm not sure that's really my cup of tea as I'd rather have bold seasoning and great sauces to go with it. However, it was still very delicious especially the dessert I had. I almost feel like I'd love this place more if I just viewed it as a wine and dessert place. However, they do put out some quality dishes.
I have been here twice and really enjoyed what I had both times. The menu itself is heavily focused on seafood which sets itself apart from most of the other great restaurants on Canton St. It’s also a beautiful restaurant that they have completely transformed since they took it over from Inc. Street Food. In addition, the servers are some of the best I have had and management seems to have a tight grasp on how to run the restaurant.
Great food, service and drinks. Hubby and I went here for a date night on a Tuesday. It was busy but we had a reservation and got seated right away. Staff was in incredibly friendly and prompt. Our server, Reggie, was always checking in on us and we never waited long for anything we ordered. All the food we had was great- we shared a pear salad, fried green tomatoes, tenderloin tacos, short rib, smoked salmon, goat cheese raviolis and had the fried cheesecake for dessert. These all came from the small plates side of the menu but they also offer entree sized selections. Drinks were delicious and had a 2 sided menu, anything from the classic old fashioned to signature drinks. We will be back to try more, thank you!

Excellent American Food
For starters we enjoyed pimento cheese and crackers along with fried green tomatoes all of which were outstanding. For entrées we had a variety including the jerk pork rib pasta special which was tremendous and a very large portion. Others had steak with twice baked potato which was also cooked to perfection. Really solid place for brunch. Shout out to the staff who were welcoming, attentive and so friendly. Truly the staff made the meal. We had a reservation at 1130 on a Sunday. Easily accommodated stroller. We ordered a cocktail and a beer on tap. The CuCu cucumber vodka cocktail was tasty. The sandwiches were all good. Overall we had a very nice brunch. $60 for two people for brunch.
Everything was amazing! Forgot to take a pic of the burrata salad. As a self proclaimed food critic, this was just so good! Calamari was fresh, hot and voted perfect. The Starburst martini and spicy basil drink! The sea bass was delectable amd buttery. I don't know if the shrimp and lobster ragout was minced in there but it was still delicious and wouldn't change my review. The chunks of goat cheese in the potato which I used to mop up the rest of the delicious sauce from the bass. The fried chicken was hot, fresh and equally delicious although it was not my meal. We had several check ins by the owner was was fantastic as well as our waiter, but I forgot his name. Bravo!
Had a great time! Thursday night with live music, tasty cocktails, and wonderful food. We'll definitely be going back to try out more of the menu.
