I used to eat here all the time with family when I was younger. I'm happy to say, after more than 20 years since I had last been there, the food is still amazing and the staff is wonderful. My chicken-fried steak was tender, had a crisp coating, and wasn't dry at all. The gravy on it was equally amazing; thick, velvety, and flavorful with chunks of yummy sausage. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, with a perfect generous amount of butter. I highly recommend stopping for a bite anytime you're anywhere near that part of Sacramento.

Old time Greasy Spone, just what I was looking for. Went for breakfast ordered their Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs. Deliverd hot, tasty & quick. Everything was eggzactly how I liked it (see picture.) And the table (like all around me) had all the condiments I desired. The steak was so tender I didn't need to use my knife, the fork worked great. I'll be back.

My favorite place to go for breakfast. Yes they need a remodel. Yes their seats are ripped. The wait staff are awesome tho. And very friendly. And I love the owner he knows all my kids. And always has lollipops. I will forever go here. Food is cheap too. Family of 5-40$

I really enjoy Sammy's. It's a Sacramento landmark. They offer good home cooked style food with terrific service. This is an old school 50's or 60's diner and I love it for what it is. Good food, good people, good service at reasonable prices. You can easily pay twice as much at some swanky place to be seen. But this is a great place to catch up with an old friend over a couple eggs over easy, corned beef hash, potatoes and rye toast. I can't vouch for their lunch or dinner offerings, but this is a great hidden treasure when it comes to good old fashion breakfast places.

Went here for both day and night. The lumberjack is very hearty, and the staff on both times were friendly and nice. The feel and atmosphere takes you back to a 40's 50's era, very clean as well. PLEASE NOTE: there is parking in the back of the building, I find it more preferable than the front on Del Paso Blvd.

This place has been here for a very long time that I know. It is the old style cafe with all of the old style values and most of all the non-pretentious food just hits home right where it counts. It has a good atmosphere with an older crowd that just gives you that down home feeling. Enjoy!

If you've never ventured to this restaurant consider it. It's been in business since 1944. I have been coming here for many years. The owners and servers are like family. The food is great. Like steak, try the ribeye. You'll get the steak, eggs, potatoes and choice of toast, pancakes or small biscuit and gravy. Yum, my favorite is the full order of biscuits and gravy with eggs and 4 strips of bacon. Their bacon is the best tasting and thicker than most restaurants serve. No see thru bacon here. Family friendly, lots of choices,

Wonderful place to eat! Lovely service, great portions and really reasonable prices. Will definitely keep coming back! It’s almost a little hole in the wall place but it is totally worth stopping at! Park in the back :)
