Accidentally stumbled upon this place today while we were searching for another business. I had heard about Plates before and knew that it was a place where women working toward a better life could come and get some hands-on training. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience today! Our waitress was an absolute doll with a great sense of humor. The food was amazing too! Love that we could support your organization, have a fantastic lunch and great interaction with one of your gals!

The food is fantastic. I had lunch at Plates last Thursday. Pulled Pork Sliders with spicy coleslaw and I picked the fresh fruit salad as the side. Every bite was a celebration in my mouth:). My attentive, kind and friendly server was Rebecca. Who talked me into a cookie to go. The cookie was a great late afternoon snack. If you have not been to Plates, you are missing something very special..... Go soon and go often!

Great experience. The mission of helping the women and children of St. John's Shelter through a work experience program is wonderful, and the food is excellent. Prepared by an expert chef, the food is at or above the quality of many of the area's moderate to high class lunch restaurants. You need only lower your expectations slightly on the interior. It isn't fancy and the tables wobble a little, but it is clean and well lit. The waitresses are very pleasant and appear to be happy for the opportunity to learn and serve. Our organization has decided to host its annual Christmas Luncheon here this year, and I think people will be pleasantly surprised.

The turkey sandwich I ordered with the cheese skirt was delicious! My friends and I are going back Monday to try something different. We had a hard time choosing. Everything looks so good. Service was great. Really clean. Onion rings... yum!

The food here is outstanding! And the fact that Plates is run by St. John's Program for Real Change means my lunch dollars work twice as hard. The team here are changing and learning food service skills to change their lives. I'm all for women empowering themselves to have better lives!

I had seen and heard of Plates prior to going today. I was not disappointed. The menu was small but adequate for a lunch selection. I had the Turkey sandwich with grilled onions and cheddar cheese melted to the outside. I do not recall what this is called but kinda of odd for me. The flavor though was superb. I opted for a salad for my side with blue cheese dressing. It also was on par with most restaurants. The facility is very large with an open kitchen. Ambiance is simple with hand painted pictures and a unique art piece made of plates as the tree trunk going into branches of ? With what I assume to be named of women who worked there. It was well done. Plates is a training facility for Saint John's home for women. The ladies are learning skills to re-enter the work place. Great cause and the tips are donations for this. We tipped well. Thank You Ladies and Bless You All

Outdoor BBQ, due to covid. Tri Tip, BBQ ribs. Chicken, brats, burgers, and daily goodies, great cookies. Nice hot meal, the chef is doing things correctly. I eat here at least 3 times per week. Really good food.

A wonderful place with great food and a truly good cause to boot. The resturant is training previously homeless women from all different walks of life, skills in a hands on fast paced real resturant! They also have a catering department that is hardworking, dedicated, and more than capable of handling any type of event from small private in-home dinners to large 1000 ppl outdoor kitchen extravaganza!

Plates is an arm of St. John's Shelter for women and children who are pulling their lives together and getting off of the streets or out of abusive situations. Plates serves as both a training program to teach skills to the women at the shelter but also as a restaurant whose profits benefit the shelter. That's the back story. The other side is that the food is excelent. Give it a try. You'll be glad you did.

It's a different kind of restaurant, but in a great way! The service, quality and quantity of food was great, as well as the prices. A nugget!

Baked Potato bar quite nice for a reasonable group luncheon in a smaller room for maybe 30 or 40. This restaurant is run by St. John's Center for Real Change.
