First things first: as a 35+ year St. Louis native, I've had my share of toasted ravioli. Pat's served me, without a doubt, the best I've ever had. Perfectly crunchy and filled with a delicious herbed cheese mixture...I can't say enough about it. I finished the meal with an order of fantastic sweet potato fries and a shrimp po' boy. My only criticism would be that the onion crispers on the sandwich were a bit overdone, which gave it a slightly unpleasant charred taste. Other than that, this is exactly what I wanted and and my expectations were exceeded. Great job, Mr. Connolly. We will be back very soon.
The fried chicken sandwich is absolutely enormous and very good! The batter is very light and the chicken breast was well cooked.
Service was very quick and friendly, which you don't always get on a Friday night.
Food was good except for the homemade chips. They needed seasoning. My boyfriend & I smelled like grease when we left. Nice neighborhood bar.

Its an incredible place with alot to offer. I love it. At one point I said something about how I loved the food and before I knew it, the chef was chatting with me and the beer was cold with great service and variety... What more could I want? And if you say anything about nicer decor or updated interior, you dont get it. This place is cannot miss!
Neighborhood Irish Bar. I have a special place for Pat's in my heart, mainly b/c it's right down the street. Everyone there is a doll and or sweetheart.
Their breakfast is of the usual eggs/bacon/hashbrowns variety, but tasty and perfect for a hangover, which is another reason I love this place. You can get smashed the night before on cheap, stiff drinks, then walk home, and drive back the next morning. It's dark, too, which I appreciate because I usually look like Liza Minelli the morning after a nice bender.
My only complaint is their fried chicken. The sides were delicious, but the breading had no flavor. Maybe they forgot to put in the spices. The chicken itself was fried perfectly, but barely any flavor.
Irish Pub with Fried Chicken. What a combination, Irish Pub and Fried Chicken and some of the best Fried Chicken in the city. The new spicy flavor gives and extra kick of flavor, but I prefer the original - it's as good as Grandma's.
If you're eating fried food, you might as well splurge and have their livers or onion strings too. However, I recommend ordering hot sauce for dipping the livers. They provide cocktail sauce which I just find to be weird.
Service is friendly & top-notch for a bar & grill.
Chicken House of Delight. $5 for half chicken & Fries all day on Monday, is
a great deal if I do say so myself!
Small Pub. Famous for their fried chicken but many great items on the menu. My favorite is the chicken fried chicken, the gravy makes the dish in this one. Also, a good low key pub to hang out in the evening with Guiness on draft.
Nice atmosphere if you are looking for friendly conversation, some sports on a few screens, and good food in the local tavern kind of way. They do have an upstairs space with bar and kitchen available for events. The downstairs tender was much more amiable than upstairs was though lol To each their own. Personally, I tried the popcorn shrimp which was a nice portion of not tiny shrimp (yum) with a romoulade that was a bit flat, but I like a little umph in it. I did notice the portions of other's choices were all generous and nicely presented as well. The general vibe was relaxed and positive so I will try the Philly next time 😉
2022: I'm upgrading Pat's fried chicken to be one of the top 2 in STL. Awesome service and great pub food.
2019: Excellent local, old fashioned Irish pub. Top 5 places in St Louis to get great fried chicken. The BLT and Ruben sandwiches are awesome too.
We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was a nice chill atmosphere. The food was delicious. Homemade ravioli and amazing sauce. Weather you get the corn beef on rye or fried chicken awesome! Server Wes very pleasant.
Stopped in for a quick drink!! Comfortable and cozy. Great service!
After visiting the St. Louis Zoo, my group and I had Pat Connolly's in Dogtown for dinner and it was great! Very down to earth atmosphere and the service and food were both terrific! I had cheesy ravolis and white cheddar mac n cheese! 👍👍👍
This was a great little find. We were on our way to the Zoo and were hungry. This was the only bar in the area. They were still serving brunch. The food was good. My wife ordered a Mimosa. They offered a carafe instead of a glass for $4 more. This was a great bargain. Service was good.
Just had coffee there with a friend, but I liked it. Real neighborhood bar with good service. Half a dozen or so booths, maybe a few tables, and seats at the bar. Claims to have good corned beef. Would like to test that claim sometime.
Loved it. Staff was great! Food was so good. Fried pickles are some of my favorites I've ever had. And I try them across the country. Potatoes and brown gravy was my favorite. Also had a salad that was pretty darn good! Highly recommend!
One of the best chicken sandwiches in STL, friendly service, and great atmosphere with history behind the pub/building. Definitely worth checking out.
This is a great historic tavern to visit. We had the fish & chips and a chicken sandwich. They were very yummy and we'll definitely be back!
The food was terrific. Our server was extremely attentive, and the portions were very large. I'll definitely visit again.
Pat Connolly's has a veggie burger (made out of veggies but tastes like beef!) it was so delicious. I usually don't eat a whole burger in one sitting but this dish didn't stand a chance! I ate everything on my plate. I love the burger. I'm so excited they have a vegan option!

Anti-religious rhetoric from staff is unnecessary and unprofessional. Otherwise the staff is very helpful and nice and play with my daughter when she is with me.
This is a great local dive Irish Pub dive in the heart of Saint Louis. The place just feels authentically local. I really like the laid back vibe, and their food is pretty good as well. I especially like their tenderloin sandwich. Beer selection is fine, and you can usually find parking nearby. Bartenders here have always been friendly and kind to me. I will be back.
Absolutely love the place, we stop by here every visit to the zoo.
My only wish? Cook your wings a little bit more. I get them nearly every time we’re there and even with asking “well done,” they’re still a bit rubbery skinned and I’ve had some pink inside. Whoever is frying ‘em tell ‘em two more minutes, and they’ll be perfect. Tasty sauce too, a little more crisp and it’ll be even better.
Fried chicken is 🔥for brunch. Good local brews and drink selections. Friendly staff, and I think we see the owner in there quite a bit, or at least there seems to be an involved house manager.
We’ll return, we always do.
