My favorite spot in the neighborhood! Food is excellent, staff is courteous, kind, and knowledgeable. Love to have a place to get amazingly good coffee (you know that big place burns their beans, right? Not Hartford!) at a great price and cool atmosphere.
Stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop yesterday. They had quite a menu, coffees, salads and sandwiches. The help was very friendly , a fun little place we would go again !
Really great staff!! I truly appreciate them letting me take over a table to talk to people about their interest in becoming foster parents.
I've clearly been making bad choices in my coffee selection all my life... while there I may have had THE best cup of coffee I've ever had!!
I like the Frittata for breakfast and the coffee is hot and fresh.. Great local place.
Family friendly place with a neighborhood feel. Great coffee and staff!
Best coffee in the neighborhood....bought the strongest théy had....Pat likes it to walk to the cup!
I just love this place. It’s a great hideaway to go when you need to get work done. And of course...great coffee.
Love, love, love Hartford! Now that I don't have kids to take to school I will have even more opportunities to drop by for a Nelson on my way to work. Also the staff are wonderful!
Hartford is a sweet neighborhood cafe that hosts local musicians once a month, the Hootenanny. While morning to friends we enjoy the beverages, desserts, and other foods, e.g., veggie plates.
My three-year-old and I love Hartford! Great coffee, food and hospitality... Don't even get me started on those cheesecakes though!
I spend more money and time here than anywhere else. Food and coffee are good and cheap, employees are sweet, patrons are respectful, but still friendly, and desserts are delicious. My all around favorite place in st. louis, by far.
I absolutely love Hartford! Their coffee is fantastic, and I appreciate that they have snacks, salads, and sandwiches that either are or can readily be made vegan (their hummus and pita is the stuff of my dreams.) The space is very warm and inviting—it’s a nice cozy place to catch up with friends, but they also have a quiet area for when you need to get work done. Their outside patio and seating is also very charming. I appreciate that they always display local artists on their walls, and they have a nice efficient system for pick up when you just want to drop by and grab something. The staff are always very nice and helpful—such a pretty, charming local spot!
Love going here! Usually come by at least once a week. When I order pick up, it’s always ready quickly! The food is really good and the coffee is too. I like that you can add flavors to the lattes, the lavender latte is my favorite!!
Nice vibes and atmosphere. The menu has a nice and large variety. The service is good and fast.
Good pricing, I'm very interested in trying their food. So far I've only had the muffins and coffee. Muffins are great, coffee was weak. Hope it's better next time. Giving 5 stars overall because I've heard good things from others, so I'm hoping it was an off day. If I'm unimpressed next time I'll adjust.
Drinks are very good, food is fresh with nice proportions, and service is consistent/reliable. I've lived around this area for a while but just recently have been using this place when I need to get away from my WFH. They are worker/meeting friendly and you can tell they are well loved by the neighborhood as so many people come in. This time I got a london fog and steel cut oats, and might grab something for lunch. I love that they have kids meals "for all ages" as sometimes I like a small portion.
Casual coffee shop with a variety of food to choose from the food menu. I had the salmon bagel with a side of tomato soup. My friends got the Hartford Gyro and Biscuits and Gravy and both loved their food too. The portion is large enough and it’s well priced. The coffee shop is located south of the Tower Grove Park so you could visit it while visiting the park.
Great little neighborhood coffee shop. My problem was trying to decide what to eat. Friendly and helpful staff. I like their outdoor dining option. Masks are required when not at your table inside. They have a brisk clientele even on a Sunday morning at 7:30. There is 15 minute parking available for those who wish to do takeout.
I had to come and leave a review. This place had mixed reviews but I really want to support local businesses. Place was clean and cozy. The staff member at the front counter was very nice and helpful to me as it was my first time coming in. Food portion was great, very filling but didn't feel heavy. Lemonade smoothie was good but definitely will try a different flavor next time. You should try them if you have not.
Warm and friendly urban neighborhood coffee shop. The large windows allow sunlight to pour in, and the natural light is fantastic on the wooden floors. The coffee is good, plus it is inexpensive: $1.25 for 12 oz. cup, $3 for bottomless. They serve breakfast, sandwiches, salads and vegetarian dishes. Small tables are conducive for conversation -- if you can find an open seat! Like most hip coffee shops, a laptop is required for admission. The also sell bulk coffee.
Everything about this place is perfect if you are looking for a homey feel and is possibly the best cafe in St Louis. It really is one of a kind and I go there as often as I can! Definitely stop by and try a cup or some food, very good!
Quaint and cozy coffee shop, tucked in the neighborhood south of Arsenal, near Grand. The food and coffee were great. When you check out, they ask if you are part of the rewards program and allow you to sign up on the spot if not. They even have a play area for small children. I will be patronizing this shop frequently!
Update: Hartford Coffee has been a regular pick-me-up for my family throughout the pandemic (per their site, I've ordered 37 times lol). I love the variety of items they've added, and appreciate them being a neighborhood staple.
I go here regularly. I think it’s a nice place to study, with such nice people, a happy atmosphere, and food and coffee at good prices. Hartford is my favorite coffee shop lately!
Nice neighborhood coffee shop where the coffee was OK, but was really enticed by the food. Will definitely return and try their Ruben
dude , tassandra ( i think is her name it’s on the ticket under server so im guessing lol ) was so frickin nice and seeing her bright humor and energy right in the morning woke me up better than my coffee , such a funny person haha ( im sorry abt the food rating , i got the baked potato , it was good but idk like it was missing something , i mean nothing negative cause this place is cool )
I first went here late at night after touring an apartment and deciding to move into the area, it had a nice vibe and was quiet. Although, It had these horrible Masked Singer coffee sleeves (lol).
Now I think I order from there at least once a week using their online menu and just run inside and pick up from my table when I get the text saying it's ready. I LOVE the muffins and breakfast burritos. The breakfast burritos are full of eggs for being only $5 and I get them with spinach instead of onions.
I do hope that I am able to catch a live music Friday again since I never went to one. Also, when they initially decided to shut down because of the pandemic, I got some milk and fruit from them which was cool.
This coffee shop is what makes me not go to Starbucks anymore and is a perfect city neighborhood coffee shop. It helped me fall in love with St Louis.
Just adding months later again they I still love their burritos, they are SO good. They are pretty big and come with sour cream and salsa. Highly suggest adding spinach to yours!
I had breakfast here on Saturday morning with my son. The food was amazing. I had the biscuits and mushroom gravy, both were delicious. My son had the Bagel and Lox, he was very happy with his selection. We got a bacon/maple scone for later, best scone I've ever had. So many scones are dry, this scone was fresh, moist and flavorful. The building is a beautiful old building, very clean and decorated with art from a local artist. Added benefit, this restaurant is only a couple of blocks from the Tower Grove Farmers Market.
