Went there on the word of a friend. I got the patty melt w/mac & cheese. It was a tender and juicy burger but I thought it lacked a little seasoning. Good, but nothing I would go running back for. My wife got the pretzel bun club? It was a pretzel bun for sure and had Turkey, ham, cheese, bacon, tomato with sweet mustard with fries as the side. She said the same. Good but not great. Our waitress, if I knew her name I'd mention it, was friendly and helpful. All in all a good, not bad, meal. Try it for yourself.
Our server Christine was the sweetest. She held down the bar AND the dining room all on her own. Her customer service was great too. The fried chicken was tasty and reasonably priced. There was a funny sewer smell in the building though. Not sure if carpet needs replacing or what. But other than that we enjoyed our visit.
Ok, came here Saturday, May 1st at around 6pm. I've been going here for years. When I started taking pictures for this review the bartender informed me that she had just been told that Malone's was officially closing after Tuesday night, May 4th, 2021. This was unfortunate news since this is one of my favorite restaurants to go to in this area. She did say that Tuesday night that they will have one heck of a party all day. This was a great place to eat, drink and be merry! The staff were always friendly. It's a shame this place is closing.
My family and I have ordered from here twice and we love everything we got both times. We also each ordered different things both times and loved everything. The steak, the spaghetti, the shrimp, the fries, salad and more were all great! I highly recommend giving them a shot. Oh yeah, they never messed up our order, that's always a plus!
Bleu cheese burger is to DIE for, the fries are fantastic and Liz, the server is AWESOME!!! My daughters are obsessed with her and she knows what they want every time. The restaurant is not much to look at but my goodness, the food is good (at least the burgers are, I haven't tried to go outside the burger zone because they are too good to pass up.) I will sacrifice atmosphere for quality food any day. Plus, they have $3 margaritas, which is just fine with me; I can deal with the heartburn. Give this place a try, you won't regret it.
****UPDATE**** the fries have changed, and I'm not a huge fan. Liz moved on quite some time ago, so go see Taylor....she is our new favorite server! Burgers are still the best around, without a doubt. Margaritas have gone up to $4, but you still can't beat it!
Malone's has been around almost long enough to be an institution and it's still as comfortable, reasonable and quality oriented as it's always been. Really good burgers, quality Reuben and fried chicken stand out. Some of the best French onion soup I've had in a long time and hot, crispy battered fries. Pleasant and attentive service and a decent beer selection. I'll go back any time.
Yes! The drinks are well made and are tasty! But, we went on Sunday for the 1/2 a chicken and 2 sides. Seriously, yum. You cannot beat the food for the price. We've gone before and will go again! Thanks for our Sunday dinner!
Yum.
Always incredible food. Great drink selection and their vodka infused lemonade is awesome!
It's hard to choose a favorite menu item as the are all good and I've been a customer for nearly 20 years but I highly recommend the BBQ ribs!
The food is great! It's not your average bar and grill. I don't drink and go here just for the food. The servers are pretty and super nice!! Go here, have a beer or Ice tea and get a pretzel sandwich! You will not be disappointed!!!
We love going here for the Romine's fried chicken. It is the best. Try it you will love it. None better. They have very good drinks and specials on holidays. They also are good for families with kids. It's simply a fun place to eat with no hurrying. Yum.
Their Romine's chicken might be the best fried chicken in this area. Mayfair on the salad, not too salty gravy on the potatoes, ham in with the green beans? An outstanding winner chicken dinner.
If you want to eat light go for the 2 piece combo special. 2 piece lunch, $6.00. Not a bad deal.
They just need to hire another server or 2.
Don't go right at noon.
We go here one evening a week, their fried chicken is really delicious. The owner purchased the old Romine's Restuarant Fried Chicken recipe which used to be located up by Riverview Circle, burgers are good, wings are flavorful and their salads don't taste like they were pulled out of a bag. You won't regret stopping in.
We go here every Thursday evening after our church meeting. They serve the old Romine's recipe fried chicken that was once located up off of Riverview Circle. We love fried chicken and we are always looking for good fried chicken, Malone's serves great fried chicken! Their salads, wings, burgers are all very, very good, we have never ordered a menu item that wasn't top notch and at a very moderate pricing! Please, give them a try!
Food was good, and usually the atmosphere is good too. For some reason when I was there on St. Patrick's Day they were playing country music which didn't fit the vibe, and our waiter took a long time. That's not usually the case other times I have been there, however.
I came for lunch but the food is delicious. I got the queso burger with Mac and cheese. I've also had the pretzel sandwich which is equally amazing. Beer is great as well as their own home brew.
First time ever eating here. I had the French onion soup. It was way to salty! Could barely finish it. Had the burger which was good. Will give them a try again but they need to lay off the salt.
