CAM has always been one of my favorite arts destinations in St. Louis. They exhibit new and challenging work and host programs to help foster understanding and dialogue for the art on display. Plus, the Cafe is yummy!

Really neat art that can't be seen anywhere else! It's also a pretty small place, so they feature maybe four artists which makes it feel more special and highlighting for the artist.

It's an amazing little place. Contemporary art sometimes doesn't get its own home and when it does, it often isn't able to shine. I thoroughly enjoyed each of the exhibits, even the more eerie of them.

CAM has hosted great events in the last year that have helped me feel more welcome in St. Louis. I've enjoyed several of the book club meet ups that have inspired thoughtful and critical dialogue. CAM is such a crucial part of the St Louis art experience.

Didn’t know what to expect coming here. Museum is free. Upstairs they have art from High school kids talking about equity & equality. Downstairs there’s more adult art from when we visited. Very abstract, thought provoking, graphic. Don’t bring kids to the downstairs there is nudity. Very fun place.

A vibrant midtown museum with rotating exhibition of amazing artists from world over. It’s all free and ample parking available around the building. The large space with some video- audio displays are very interesting touch. A small cafe with a nice outdoor space to have a cup of cappuccino!

My husband and I were lucky to be able to have our wedding reception at CAM. Bonnie, the events manager, helped make our day incredibly magical! People have been raving about it, and I can't get over how beautiful and joyful it was in the performance space. I am so grateful for all the time, energy, attention to detail, and support Bonnie and the staff gave us. I would absolutely recommend CAM for your special event! :)

This place is an amazing way to spend a weekend afternoon without spending money. The art exhibits are interesting and there are lots of things to look at. The building itself was very modern and cool.

Visited to celebrate Juneteenth. There were fun activities for the kids, tons of bubbles outside and a great ice cream food truck.

Saint Louis is a city that.is lucky to have such a vibrant arts scene, and one of the crowning jewels.is the Contemporary Art Museum. Tucked away in Grand Center, the CAM is FREE to all guests and provides several galleries of cutting-edge, thoughtful, and thought-provoking work. Stop by often and immerse yourself in their exhibits and then come back again to find something new.

This is a free museum to see art and experience art. I only had a short time to visit, so I only saw the exhibit called "Hum." It was very unique and informative. I would recommend seeing this exhibit

Stopped by here on a whim and was glad we did. My kids loved the displays and the area upstairs where they could make their own art. I'm sure we will be returning at some point in time.

Very nice welcome when walking in, good explanation of all the art works. Space is well used, very simple but beautiful. The art works are updated regularly, hence always having a different environment. Not familiar with art in general, but definitely worth checking out and it's totally free.

The Basquiat Installation is amazing. Very well done. It's such a great venue for his works, very contemporary style. I love the children's room upstairs with appropriately themed books and toys for the visiting art Installation. Everything in the upstairs Children's room was Basquiat themed. And there was a short film being projected on the wall. The Museum itself was incredible and the cafe is full of yummy drinks and small offerings. I've been here several times for visiting installations with change seasonally and the artist talks are wonderful and they offer a lot to our local art scene. Less stuffy than the Art Museum in Forest Park, there are opportunities to interact with the art depending on who's showing there. The gallery attendants are friendly and knowledgeable about the work and the experience of the artists. The gift shop always has unique, artsy offerings that anyone would love. This is a great homeschool field trip or a great date night venue. Wonderful location with lots to offer.

A must go to place in STL. Free exhibits and tons of events year round. Rise cafe is pretty awesome, and there's lots of active and open community involvement here. It's hard to imagine this place being much better for the arts. Conveinent hours and easy parking. Consistently interesting exhibitions.

A great, and free, contemporary art museum, the collection is a small but ever-changing exhibit, that is housed in a great building. Its proximity to the Pulitzer Foundation for the arts makes it a great visit. The building would be a fine work by itself, but it suffers from by comparison to its neighboring minimalist work by true master of minimalist concrete architecture Tadeo Ando’s, aforementioned Pulitzer. Try the cafe though, it’s small food offering is fresh and in a city of “restoration hardware” catalog decor it’s a perfect place to decompress.

This is an exceptional space located at the Art District. Free to the public and has very interesting art exhibitions. As the name suggests, this is a space for contemporary art with very diverse art work and an wide array of art programs for children.

Incredibly engaging, a great place to wander and have an emotional experience, a place that makes it feel like there's no right or wrong answer to have about art. Enchanting to walk through. Very kind docents. I never felt awkward or pressured to move on from a space before I was ready. One even turned up the audio upstairs for me so I could listen to the interview with the artist (and there was also a transcript, which is so meaningful--accessibility is so important!). I loved the upstairs space where I could sit, listen to the artist interview, and color--just what I felt inspired to do after walking around and thinking about all the vivid juxtapositions I'd just seen. If you get a chance, see the Jacolby Satterwhite exposition before it leaves in August. There are some adult themes but nothing a modern kid would blush at, most likely! 😅 Oh--my one gripe. Please do away with the gendered bathrooms. Standing in front of a men's and women's bathroom as a non-binary person, reading the sign that says, "Please use the one where you're most comfortable," was not the highlight of my day. Thank you.
