I gave them all 5 stars because I come to this place frequently, and always have a good experience. The food is great, the staff is typically good, and the prices are very fair. It is my go-to spot. The French toast are HUGE, and fulfilling, and I love that they offer Turkey options.
I would love to see them expand.
Although, my last visit wasn't so great as the hostess was very rude. (Younger lady, dark hair, working 12/10). I am going to keep visiting in hopes that I will miss her shift because I really do enjoy this place.
Great Place and Location! First time my family and I visited and it was quite a lovely visit…from The hostess to the young men that were helping clean tables. Our waitress was prompt, helpful, friendly and sweet. The food was delicious, hot and fresh, definitely worth every penny spent. Thank you for such a Wonderful first time experience!
It was a 30 min wait that was well worth it. Everything was hot, fresh, and good. The service was excellent and the price was reasonably. Very diverse menu and I will be returning. Footage of our visit is on YouTube at the Davis314Family. Check it out!
I love everything about this place. The only real critique I have is the potatoes are a little too well done. I didn't ask them to make mine lighter or anything but both times that I've been they are dark and dried out. I think it's just their style. They look that way on every plate in the restaurant. There Tess' Toast is amazing.
Doughnuts for starters - back to the childhood.
Welcoming setting and variety of breakfast options. Kids menu has good choices and combinations. Kids loved their hot chocolate.
I enjoyed salmon hash, it was full of flavors with added greens, capers and sunny side up.
Coming little after 8 am on Saturday morning, we were able to get easy street parking and were seated without wait. Service was a bit slow, but delicious food compensated for that.
Half and half is exceptional. A great place for a morning breakfast for business to a perfect way to start a Fathers Day (go with the steak skillet/hash) the food is fantastic. Savory and sweet (blueberry cheesecake stuffed French toast 😊🤩). Staff is always nice and working hard. Not sure there is a better breakfast venue in town…
Adorable little place. I love the optional open bar seating and old-time feel of a country store. The food was delicious and made fresh. Everything came out hot. As the staff walked by with food, there was not one thing that didn't look delicious. The bourbon infused chia tea latte, the bloody mary, and the Irish coffee were great.
On our road trip, we received an email from Travel & Leisure on the best US brunches…and realized that Half & Half was just a stones throw away from our stay in downtown St. Louis! Decidedly, being avid brunch goers, Half & Half made our list of must-dos in our short visit and it definitely delivered. 💕
Plenty of street parking upon arrival, though, I should note that we arrived just a few minutes after opening and it was already abuzz with families and dates. Note to make a reservation or prepare to wait (it is worth it).
The interior is farm-house cozy with modern decor, edison light bulbs and the like. Menus are served on note book paper-like card stock with excellent descriptions of the tasteful goodies to come. We ordered mimosas (this is the best kind of mimosa with a hint of OJ if you know what I mean 😉) and lattes (pretty good, a little milky). For bites - a more classic French toast (one of the better French toasts that I have ever had, fresh berries could have been a nice addition though) and a BlackBerry cheese cake French toast (simply divine, creamy and fresh) - both were excellent.
Overall, this mom and pop place has a homey type of atmosphere with lots of regulars which is always nice to experience the local food and culture scene while passing through. We most certainly extend our recommendation to Half & Half.
Awesome place! The waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient! Parking is off-street! The food was cold but was still delicious! The cost is very reasonable for the amount and quality of food!
Popular breakfast spot. I went on a Sunday shortly after it opened. Food was great, but it's not the spot for a quick breakfast. Try the cinammon donuts!
Tried this place for the first time, it is quite small to be ready for a wait (you can join the waitlist online). The coffee was pretty good, food was good, not excellent, and the service was reasonable with a very friendly wait staff. I’m sure we will back in the future.
It has been way too long since I’ve been here! I go be back again and again! biscuits and gravy and thwere perfect! Hot and creamy and not too salty!
My wife got the cheesecake French toast and she loved that too. We also shared the veggie hash with added turkey sausage and the veggie combo was so good!
Service was the best we had in awhile. Definitely felt homey and we felt cared for by our server, Maggie, and all the staff there.
Only complaint is that they should definitely get more space! It was boppin and busy busy!
Will be back again and again!
Recently got to try breakfast here twice! Both times we had very good food, service and coffee! We tried: lox avocado toast w/ poached egg, roasted tomato and egg sandwich, Tess’ Toast, Blueberry pancakes, Lox Benedict, and Chorizo & guacamole Benedict (on a biscuit instead of English muffin). Avocado toast and the Benedicts were our favorites. Tess’s Toast was good, but needed more lemon curd or syrup on the side. Blueberry pancakes needed more blueberry butter. Unfortunately, the potatoes had no seasoning and were a weird almost crispy stale texture. The cinnamon vanilla honey latte hot was delicious! Can’t wait to go back and try something else off the menu!
My wife and I went there for a Sunday Brunch. It was our first time there. When we arrived, the place was crowded with a small line inside the restaurant.
We got our booth after a short wait. MJ ordered Steak and eggs along a Ham biscuit and coffee. The steak was a bit chewy for her but she enjoyed her meal. My order was blueberry pancakes, sausage, potatoes and orange juice.
For some reason, my main order was not filled even though the waitress took it. She went back to the kitchen and got the cooking started. The pancakes came a few minutes after my wife's order. Despite this, my brunch was very good.
We both enjoyed our meals. The service was good and the staff friendly. It is a place worth trying.
Alexis the bartender was great. Will be back to see her and eat the good food.
Great for brunch! Good service and food.Very cozy!! The only downfall there is a wait time,we waited an hour for our table.
Good place. I was really craving to go to this place, it’s always crowded and heard it was good from many friends. Maybe I had huge expectations, but I found it to be good, just that, nothing out of this world. Coffee was average, the pancakes were good. It’s a good place, but overhyped.
Excellent menu with a lot of flavor combinations. I really like all the different flavors they had to offer. The service I had the first time was impeccable, even though there was a long wait. However, the second time, the service was not so great, and it wasn't as busy as it was my first visit. Still, the food was awesome.
Everything was absolutely fantastic. Really good service, amazing food.
We got omelette, sandwich 🥪, French toast, doughnuts and the coffee ☕ was good. The server had a big smile all the time which made the experience comfortable even though they were extremely busy. I would love to come again.
