The Clayton Straub's is not bad for a neighborhood grocery store although exceedingly small. It is more high end and they have prepared foods and a butcher's counter. There is a nice deli section and a good wine selection. The location is very convenient to the neighborhood. Orifice looked pretty good although did not inspect closely. Great for grab and go.

Straub's never fails to impress with its vast and varied selection. I hate to admit, but their sushi is one of my favorite things! The place is never too crowded and the staff is always friendly. They have a great collection of spirits, beer, and wine, and there are plenty of premade lunch and dinner options like soups, sandwiches, wraps—the honey chicken strip wrap is one of my favorites—and even dinners for two. The chicken salad is also a must-try. Always looking forward to my next visit; there’s always something fun and new to find!

If I could give this store more stars I would! I am in Straubs(Clayton) several times a week- getting lunch, buying something for dinner, for gifts, etc and am never disappointed by the offerings. Everyone is so helpful and friendly it makes what can be a chore a rather pleasant experience. 😊

Selection and prices were decent. They have some niche products for the savvy culinary artist. Fresh produce was adequate but was lacking some diversity of selection compared to the bigger stores. The smaller store will not suit someone with confinement issues, very tight spaces.

A relatively small store focused on providing interesting alternatives to a local population. As such, it is entertaining just to walk through. Excellent deli, meats, and bakery. The deli makes a variety of side dishes daily that would spice up any meal.

It's expensive but it's near me, and my go-to, and the food is quality. The one thing that drives me absolutely insane about this store is how many plastic bags they use. I'm guessing management is pushing the employees to use plastic bags with the logo instead of paper because I can't tell you how many times I've asked for paper and they don't "hear" me. Tonight they started using plastic before I could ask for paper. I didn't want to be high maintenance. So, I asked if they would just not bag the two remaining items because I could carry them and they put them in another plastic bag anyway. I realize that I live in Missouri and that their typical customer is not going to be concerned with plastic use, but it's gotten to a point where I dread checking out because I have to emphasize it or talk through it everytime. I'm going to start bringing my own bag and hope they don't find a way to wrap things in plastic before putting them in there, but somehow I wouldn't be surprised if that happened.

A small grocery store aimed at the well to do. Very good products and services. Everything cost a bit more than Schnucks, Dierberg's, or any other grocery chain.

Great market with a surprisingly diverse selection. Excellent prepared foods, including their mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Their deli meats are all real and made each day. Real sliced turkey, roast beef, and ham. And don't forget to pick something up at the bakery!

Our favorite little grocery store. Great location in the heart of Clayton with excellent prepared foods, cheeses, wines and upscale choices overall. EXCELLENT butcher with great selection of meats and fish. Very fresh fruit and produce and a nice little bakery area. EASY to get in and out quickly. That said, Straub's is an institution in St. Louis and not everyone will enjoy it for a couple reasons: 1) Prices are high. Few things are cheap here. People come here for quality and not price. Steaks are excellent, but priced higher than other stores. 2) Building is rather old and dated. 3) While I've never had a problem finding a parking spot, the one-lane front row parking may mean you have to wait for someone coming or going. OVERALL: EXCELLENT grocery store.

It's great as a high end grocery store, but the deli and fresh prepared foods are where Strain's really shines. The Caesar salad and chicken salad are both exceptional!

This is a unique grocery store experience. Straubs competes with large chains by offering artisanal goods, like a local bakery's classic split layer cake. Or 12 options for craft rootbeer. Or a curated cheese selection from around the world. You get the picture. And service is excellent and knowledgeable.
