James is an amazing bartender! He made me feel at home right as I entered the door. Their espresso martinis are PHENOMENAL. They have a great aesthetic and maintain the integrity of a historical 1900s building. Also, they have 2 pool tables for any skilled players out there. This place is definitely a hidden gem of South City.

Cute St. Louis dive bar. It's been the Famous Bar at least 25 years and was a bar before that. It has poker tables and minimal snacks (m&ms, jerky, crackers) and you can bring your own food in. Known for its martinis and bloody Mary's. There's street parking or a small parking lot in back.

A great dive bar with awesome martinis. They have Billiards as well! The bartends are pretty cool and the drinks are decently priced. You’ll have to check out if you’re looking for fun bar vibes.

You can’t go wrong with the Famous Bar it’s been around forever, it’s a martini bar with all male bartenders. Great drinks, neighborhood vibe, very approachable and comfortable.

Ahhhh, the Famous Bar. I loved loved loved going here 15 years ago. Now, I love it again! Great local feel with fun upscale drinks. They have great "fu fu" martinis: the peach penguin is my favorite and comes with a gummy in the bottom, the miami is a close second. I have never had another Bloody Mary that comes close to thier "famous" mary, it tastes like your eating a steak! I remember loving one with a picked greenbean, years ago, too.

This is the second time I've been here and it is now one of my new favorite haunts. It has that speakeasy feel without the fake vibe. The mixologists are on point and I'm picky. Jeff was my personal favorite buy we had Dave last night and he was awesome too. They told me a lot of history and it was honestly just a vibe you have to see for yourself. #bestdrinksintown 100%

Dave is hands down the greatest bar tender this side of the Mississippi! Makes a phenomenal extra extra extra diiirrrrrttttttyyyy martini, adds insightful ideas to conversations of all sorts, and is very easy on the eyes. Imagine a really hot version of Bill Burr, but with way prettier eyes! Come check out the excellent service and staff at The Famous Bar.

I've driven past this place dozens of times and never noticed it was here - what an absolute hidden gem! Super chill and friendly staff, unfussy decor, and drinks for any preference (though in particular their martinis reputations are well-earned). Do yourself a favor and stop in. I definitely will be again.

Blink and you'll miss this cozy bar nestled on Chippewa in south Saint Louis. I have driven by this place for years and never thought to stop in. I wish I had sooner. This bar has some of the finest martinis I've ever had. The atmosphere is friendly, warm, and local. If you're looking for a comfy lounge vybe to grab a martini, look no further.

The bar is super cute. There's a cozy seat in the window, if you like to be seen. The drinks are strong and decently priced. There's always an open pool table. PLUS there's a super cute bartender who'll let you staring deep into his....beer bottle!

My guy raved about the martinis from his previous visits years ago with friends. We went with his bestie and they DID NOT disappoint! Great martinis, low-key, and relaxed atmosphere.

I love the ambience in this bar. Located in a quiet neighborhood it has a great bar with tremendous amount of liquor. But also, surprisingly they make excellent mixed drinks. You cannot smoke there anymore, so if you see google page that says it's ok, it's outdated post. Still, great place to unwind.

Takes "neighborhood bar" to a whole new level. Awesome decor, like a bar from the 40s or 50s. Fun crowd and great bartenders. Their Bloody Marys are excellent and they make very good classic cocktails

It was good but no food and not a lot of options. The bloody mary's were very good, though.

Decent place to have a drink, bar tenders seemed a little short but held it down not a bad place over all good environment.
