Unbelievable brewery experience. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, quick to action, and genuinely friendly. The beer is out of this world good; with unique styles and interesting rotational taps, they push the boundaries of what a Twin Cities brewery can accomplish. From the dark Saison to the Belgian white, these beers bring fresh appeal to styles many might not otherwise explore. Now if you’re an IPA drinker look no further, because this brewery has some of the dankest NE style IPAs I have ever tasted. Reserved hop flavor, cloudy orange-juice like consistency, and unique dry hopping combinations create some of the most delicious beers to grace the Midwest in awhile. Follow that up with some amazing darker beers such as their Spare Parts black lager or Inc. stout and you can see for yourselves how versatile this brewery is. Whether for a beer after work or as a spot to go to with friends on the weekend, Blackstack is an excellent place to down a couple with friends.

I’ve enjoyed a handful of there beers and visited on a couple of occasions. Most recently yesterday with a high school tournament in town and they were busy but because the taproom is large it never felt crowded or loud. I’m definitely going back.

The beer was great! There are other good things about this place, but I keep thinking about the beer and can't remember what the other things were. Oh, they let me in, so security is pretty lax.

Had a flight, a keg blew and we were given a free sample. On top of the open atmosphere, board games and amazing brews.. this is a place I'll be coming back to!

Fantastic place. Huge inside. We had a flight of everything minus IPAs as I'm not a fan. Every beer was minimum 3.5 out of 5. And I rate harshly! They were all amazing. Definitely will be back.

Wide open space with lots of light, tons of board games, super sweet staff, and great beer. Could be improved with the addition of a vintage popcorn machine, but that's up for debate.

This is one of the best taprooms in the Twin Cities. Great space, with a ton of thought put into the layout and even acoustics. But most importantly, the beer is awesome. The guys at BlackStack hit a home run!

I have visited Blackstack Brewing many, many times (yep, I drink beer - lots of good beer). I always am drawn back to Blackstack for the unique feel of the place, the many craft beer offerings (especially their unique Berliner Weisse sours), and the fun people who drink and work there! On this night, I was hosting two friends from Colorado. We spent the evening downstairs in Can Can Wonderland, then finished off the night in Blackstack. We played board games, drank fine beer, and enjoyed each other's company. That's the kind of place Blackstack is - laid back, casual and.... cozy. It needs a fireplace! Just kidding, but seriously? The historic building that the Brewery is in is large and spacious. There is ample parking across the street (3 smallish lots available), and street parking. Masks are encouraged. Seating inside is cozy, with comfortable "historic" aka well-used (smelly?) old sofas and coffee tables, as well as conventional seating and tables for board games. Lately, the brewers at Blackstack are on an IPA-tear, as in all manners of IPA's - NEIPA's, DDH IPA's, West Coast IPA's, California Style IPA's. You get the drift. Lots and lots of IPA's. When I was there last week, there was even a TRIPLE DRY HOPPED IPA. Crazy stuff. They did offer some other types of beers - a Kolsch, a couple of pilsners, a porter, etc. But I was there for their smoothie sours, to which they offered 5 last week on the menu. Their smoothie sours are oh so good. Of course, I bought a couple of crowlers of the "good stuff" to take home (see my photos). Food is not really offered for sale in the tasting room, water is available. You can bring food in to eat, no issue. Food trucks frequent BS. They added a jukebox lately! Good music. A large screen TV is also now on the wall. I don't know how they keep the plants alive in there, but they soften the brewery, along with the unique furniture and relaxed vibe. I will happily give Blackstack a 5-star rating for the great staff, good beer selection, and the fun vibe and atmosphere! That BS smell is so delicious. I'm thirsty now.....

Fun, clean environment. Huge wall of windows facing East. There’s about 300 seats. So many tables and chairs to sit at. Three or four shelves stocked full of board games. Temperature, ventilation, and lighting were great. Easy and quick to order. Seems like they have a food truck for happy hour - maybe more? Otherwise they have snacks to buy. Not sure. Beer is very tasty and original. The only con was the bathroom not having a diaper changing station.

Lots of open space inside, which is really nice, along with some underground parking, but trying to navigate the signage from the basement to ground level was a bit of a challenge. Their Fugazi and Whip Its were pretty solid, both of you want to sip and savor them or if you want to crush them. The Real Estate was a unique drinking experience-- hard to describe succinctly, but worth it if you feel like being adventurous
